@Serigala: I got the idea of how this trick works, but I think, there are too many Soulstones in your deployment zone to guarantee a good thread. It is not just the Viks themselves. It is also about the 10 other points (SoC and Librarian) that roam behind. But maybe I will give it a try and will see it differently after that.

And that is exactly the point: There is no second Viktoria, since one is in the backfield being healed. As mentioned: I never played it, but I don't think it is quite a nice combination since one might be overwhelmed by a full crew running against 2/3 of yours. Though I agree that defending against breackthrough or Destroy the Evidence, it is good to have a high model-count in the deployment zone. That's what I still have to learn, how to play Viktorias defensively.

I think the second half is even more true than the first sentence. It is necessary to figure out when to strike the target at all, since the Viktoria's are quite fragile and cannot take a lot of hits until Vanessa will pop up. Most of the games I played in the past I went quite agressively forward and ended up in trying to get a Draw out of the game. In the end, the speed of pressing forward is determined by strategies, schemes and enemy. I find that one Ronin is enough to be taken into the crew. I try to field other models. In the last game, I had one Ronin, one Student, one Gunslinger, Von Schill and the Librarian. It often depends on the enemy, which models to take, though having a variety to choose from is essential, since there are not a lot of synergies between the Outcasts minions (except for SoC/Viks or Von Schill/Freikorps). I am still in the progress of figuring out a great tactic, but it mostly depends on the situation you are in. And that you will learn by playing and experimenting. Since I am still in that stage, I am not much of a help; but taking a breath and thinking before a charge and whether it is necessary is even more important. And the game is about objectives (strategies and schemes) rather than killing the opponent. Well, but then you have 10SS+ in your Deployment zone, while your enemy is attacking 2/3 of your Crew in a 30SS game. I have never tried it but I find it quite difficult to handle the enemy then.

That's where I learned Malifaux, bought my Viks and played my first two games . Whenever I will be back in Stockholm, I'll bring my Viks .

Kay, just throwing this in because of the idea and because it might be fun to look at: Maybe you want to put little rockets (the one people use on New Year's Eve) into the barrel of the rifles and paint them in a funny and exploding way since China is known for its fireworks. And maybe the one - if you are interested in sculpting that - looking into the barrel looks in there right in the wrong moment and you model an exploded barrel and paint him a nice black face. But that's just two ideas I'd really want to see in a crew like this ^^.

Thanks for the advices. Although I am not set on playing the mentioned personell, I'd like to play them and I am actually looking for good combinations for the named models. Of course, I will try a lot of games with any combinations, though I am not sure, how many Freikorps I will really integrate into my Crew. @eatenbypotchky: That is -of course- a very good advice. And I am sure that I will have fun playing with my crew, but in the end some of the games would be nice if they are wins . Also, I now have a few crews I will play against since I found a small club nearby. There will be Rasputina, Collodi and Pandora available. And maybe a few others in the future. @DarcXON: Thanks for describing the manifest-requirements description. I was about to ask for that one, too. I saw it in a recent video-battle report, where aViks played against Nicodem.

So my list with small changes will be: Viktorias (7 SS Cache) Jack Daw (9 SS) Sue (7 SS) Librarian (7 SS) Ronin (5 SS) I think I'll give that one a try as soon as Sue has arrived.

Ah, I only checked the Convict Gunslinger for Ruthless. Since my main enemies will be Pandora in the beginning, Sue was there to support my characters for the Wp duels. Maybe, Von Schill will be replaced by Taelor then.

Hi, I am quite new to Malifaux and started the Viktorias. Now I want quite an allround crew which mainly can go against everything that is out there (even though I don't know what is out there). Here's, what I came up with, so far: Viktoria's (5 SS Cache) Jack Daw (9 SS) Sue (7 SS) Von Schill (9 SS) Ronin (5 SS) I would think about discarding one scheme to get the two extra SS during the game. I have to explain, that I am quite a slow player with my Viktorias in respect of the hitting round, when their swords collide with the enemy. It tends to be the third round. Here's my portfolio of miniatures I have so far: Viktorias, 3 Ronin, Taelor, Bishop, Johan, Von Schill, Librarian, Jack Daw, Convict Gunslinger. Sue would be the next shop.

I love the jeans of the second Ronin. Since I have my Ronins still ahead of me, how did you paint those jeans?
