  1. Location: The Game shoppe 4014 N. 144th St. Omaha, Ne. 68116 (402) 991-8699 Date: February 13th Time: The gaming starts at 6:00 p.m. Cost: $5 for prizes Love is in the air, once again, in Malifaux. Join brothers William and George Fairfield as they compete for the love of Lola Brown. Players will be split up on one of the brother's sides and battle it out in 3 rounds of story encounters trying to earn the most heart tokens, so it will be a team effort. The encounter will use the local Dust Up 25 rules with fixed list. Players on the losing side will decide which two players on the winning side will get mystery boxes. All players on the winning side will gain gift cards for the store. All players on the losing side will get a local model to use in campaigns. Everyone wins. Dust Up 25 rules: 25 soulstones. Master lead. Soulstone pool of Master's cache +1 only. Any extra is discarded. 4 turns only, no flips for extras. Scoring allowed on first turn. May summon, but can never have more models in the crew than the crew started with +1. Crew creation as normal. Time limit in events is 40 minutes.
  2. So Wyrd is dumping the idea of a TTB adventure for them? Not that I mind, in fact, a box set of all three of them with story encounters and TTB would be cool.
  3. Nice. I can't wait to see some updates on the game. Will the Divergent Path characters be in the Stitch in Time event?
  4. The soulstone limit is mainly there to match up with some of the other formats. Also encourages list building. The summoning part was brought up by one of the other players also, but he plays Kirai, so that was the reason for his comment. I was thinking of doing a summons +conditions type rule, but it seemed clunky at first. As for pre event info and fixed list, this does not work with my community. They are all very causal, almost to the point of not caring as long as they play causal. There is only one player in the community that would use that info, and he is the best player we have and does not need that info to help him. We do always use fixed list, but that is standard for Henchmen Hardcore anyway. Thanks for the feedback.
  5. So my community meets every Monday night. We game from around 6pm to around 10pm. Most of them don't really do weekend events, so I do what I can with the time we have. I try to run events everyone month, so my community can gain mystery boxes and guilders. Because of the time limit, we can only do Henchmen Hardcore and Enforcer Brawls. So one of the things I wanted to do it come up with a new format. Something more open than Henchmen Hardcore but with more structure than just 30 ss. So I came up with Dust Up 25. I have posted up the rules for my community to give feedback on, but I figured I would see what the Malifaux Forum community thinks. So look it over and let me know what you think. Would you use this format? 25 soulstones. Master lead. Soulstone pool of Master's cache +1 only. Any extra is discarded. 4 turns only, no flips for extras. Scoring allowed on first turn. May summon, but can never have more models in the crew than the crew started with. Crew creation as normal. Time limit in events is 40 minutes.
  6. I would love this idea, but the reason you can't do stuff like this is tournaments. A bonus like that would be viewed as too fun or along the lines of a story encounters and we all know that has no place in Masters events and the like. I would love to see something like a new set of schemes for the rules that are not part of the Gaining Grounds. Maybe for Book 5, since we are sure to see a book 5.
  7. I really enjoy the hidden schemes as it add more mystery and bluffing to the game. I feel it gives a less experience player a chance to score some VP versus a veteran player. If a veteran player knows the schemes, they are going to know how to stop it pretty easy. At least the bluffing part of the hidden gives the less experience player a chance.
  8. Never let rules stop you from having fun. Ask the TO and community if it would be okay to play them. I have even kicked around the idea of running a treacherous ties campaign.
  9. So, has everything been updated? I want to make up and print up a personal set of cards, but I would prefer not to do it multiple times.
  10. Think I will stick with old Lazarus. He had some faults, but this guy looks like he is part of the Malifaux X Infinity game.
  11. I have an idea for a master for Ressers that I use in my TTB games often. Unlike other masters, she does not summon but is a brawler character. She use her hate toward men as her magic and buffs her minions by dealing damage to them. Her totem would be her own daughter, or the spirit of her daughter. Her minion could be Guild Autopsy and maybe her henchmen would be a Henchmen Guild Autopsy. That is all I have for now. I just walked in from work. lol
  12. Location: The Game shoppe 4014 N 144th st Omaha, Ne 68116 (402) 991-8699 Date:December 26th Time: The event starts at 6:30pm Cost: $5 for prizes It is the end of the year and there is just enough time for one last event! The basics of the event is a Treacherous Ties format, but with a twist. For members of the local community, you can hire into your crew any of the special edition models you have won during the year. You can even hire in special models you might have got from campaigns! The sky's the limit. So gather up your favorite models and get ready to send off 2016 with a bang.
  13. This was the second encounter from yesterday. A Christmas Story Suggested by Brian, Harley Dan, and Mike Life in Malifaux is tough for children, but not all have it that bad. Many belong to loving families that keep them safe and sound. This does not mean they don’t still want more. Such is the story of a boy named Ralphie. For all he has, there is one thing he wants more than anything. He is willing to get help from anyone willing to listen. Set Up Place one 30mm Ralphie marker in the center of the table. This marker is ht 1, Blocking, Impassible. Any model in this encounter may purchase the following Upgrades for this encounter: Decoder Ring, Major Award, and Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock and "this thing which tells time" Deployment Standard Specials When certain actions are taking during this encounter, models will gain Conditions based on the action. These Conditions last for the rest of the encounter. After succeeding a Ca Action, gain the following Condition: “Oh fudge +1: Reduce this model’s Ca stats by 1 for each +1 on this condition.” After resolving a Sh Action, gain the following Condition: “You’ll shoot your eye out +1: This model suffers 1 damage. Reduce all ranges on this model’s Actions by 1 for each +1 on this condition, to a minimum of 1”.” After succeeding a Ml Action, gain the following Condition: “Scut Farkus Affair +1: Reduce this model’s Ml stats by 1 for each +1 on this condition.” Models in this encounter all gain the following Ability: “I triple dog dare you!: Once during an Activation, this model may flip a card to force an enemy model within 6” to take a legal (1) Action of this model’s controller’s choice, after this model’s activation. The enemy model performs the Action.” Victory At the end of each Turn, a Crew earns 1 VP if it has at least one model within 6" of the Ralphie Marker. Models with the “You’ll shoot your eye out” condition, do not count for scoring. At the end of every Turn, after scoring VP, the First player places the Ralphie Marker into base contact with the model with the highest soulstone cost within the 6” scoring area. You may gain more than 10 VP in this encounter. The Upgrades: Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock and "this thing which tells time" Cost: 3 ss If the model with this upgrade is able to score a VP for the encounter, gain +1 VP. This model gains the following Attack Action: Red Rider ( Sh 4 / Rst Df / Rg: gun 8) Target suffers 0 / 1 / 1 damage and gains the following Condition for the rest of the game: “You’ll shoot your eye out. +1” Restrictions Rare 1 Decoder Ring Cost: 2 ss This model gains the following Ability: Drink your Ovaltine: If an enemy model cheats a card in a duel with this model, this model gains the following bonus to its total based on the suit cheated. Crow, Tome: +1 Mask: +2 Rams: +3 Restrictions Non Leader, Rare 1 Major Award Cost: 2 ss Discard this upgrade to place a 30mm Leg Lamp marker within 1” of this model. The Leg Lamp marker is Impassable. Any model that starts or ends its Activation within 4” of the Leg Lamp marker, must pass a Wp 13 duel. If failed, the model ends its Activation. Restrictions Rare 1
  14. I posted up the encounters the year before and almost forgot to do it this year. This is the one from day one. Enjoy The Iron Giant Suggested by Lauren In the badlands just outside the city, sightings have been coming in of a giant construct. Larger than anything construct ever seen. No one knows who built it, but everyone wants it for their faction. The thing they don’t know is, the giant will decide for itself who it will join. Set up Place one 50mm Iron Giant marker in the center of the table. The Iron Giant marker is a Ht 10, blocking, impassible. Any models in this encounter may take the following special upgrades: Landslide, Espresso, and Superman. Deployment Corner Deployment Special Any time a model declares an Attack Action against an enemy model, the Iron Giant marker will attack that model with an “Advanced Weapon” attack. The opposing player will make a 4 / 6 / 10 damage flip, which can’t be cheated or modified by abilities. All models in this encounter gain the following Ability: “You don’t have to be a gun: this model may discard a card to stop the Iron Giant marker from making an Advanced Weapon attack. “ During the Upkeep Phase, the Iron Giant marker will move 5” towards the closest scrap marker or construct. If the Iron Giant marker moves into base contact with either target, remove it from the encounter. Victory At the end of every turn, if at least one of your models used the “You don’t have to be a gun” Ability, gain 1 VP. If at the end of any turn, you declared no Attack Action against enemy models, gain 1 VP. You may gain more than 10 VP in this encounter. The Upgrades: Landslide Cost: 2 ss Discard this upgrade while within 1” of an enemy model. The target model gains the following condition for the rest of the encounter. “IBS: When this model activates, it generates 1 less AP. “ Restrictions Rare 1 Espresso Cost: 2 ss Discard this upgrade at the start of this model’s activation to gain the following condition until it is removed or the start of Turn 5. “I said, I’m hip: When this model activates, it generates 1 more AP. This model may not take the Focus action.” Restrictions Non-Master, Rare 2 Superman Cost: 3 ss This model gains the following Ability: You are what you chose to be: This model gains all the special rules and counts as a Master model. Restrictions Rare 1, Enforcer only
  15. I plan on being there, maybe bringing some of the group with me!
  16. First day of the events starts today! If you don't have your entry in, you can turn it in before the start of the next day. I will be posting the encounter later today on this thread.
  17. There was a ton of stuff this year, if I had the disposable income. Will a message be posted if the black joker puppets run out? I was thinking of getting posters for my 3 factions and using one of the puppets as a prize item.
  18. Can't say there is any one model I always take, but I normally will take a canine remain and Mortimer. The dog for digging up bones early, then to do other stuff later on. I do find the Vulture under par so I normally go with the Carrion Effigy. Just set up at least the beat sticks within 6" and remember his ability. Just don't get too caught up in the summon or you will find yourself with nothing to do with Nicodem. I have done that a few times.
  19. Entries must be in by Dec 1st if you want to join.
  20. Indeed. I would be up for helping out. I would agree that putting the whole encounter might be a little on the side of copyrights. Some of those you have to pay to get them so I am sure Wyrd would not like us just posting them up for free.
  21. Personally I was thinking of starting this thread also, you beat me to it. One thing I know we will see is more models to go with the new masters, and I really feel this book will/should be more about personalities in Malifaux. We have the Fated that won in the Arcantist faction from the Nythera event. We have the 3 characters from the Divergent Paths that will be joining factions. If anyone has looked at the TTB books, there is lots of info within the Bestiary about creatures in Malifaux. Just the pursuits themselves could be great character models for the game. That is what I am really hoping to see with Book 5.
