1. Mine just arrived yesterday and got in a game with them last night. Really like them, although there is that same slipperiness that the puppet decks have. One of the things that struck me as really cool (even more than the cards in general) is the way the numbers on the face cards were made to look like the matching letter on standard cards (at first I thought they were letters), ie. the 13 looks kinda like a K, the 12 like a Q etc.
2. Malifaux Achievement League Starting 8/9/12, Ending 8/24/12 Thursdays at Captain Nemo's (563 Higuera Street San Luis Obispo, CA 93401)

(805) 544-6366 Fridays at Game Theory (Building 8, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CA) $5 Entry Awards for Most Achievements, Most Wins, and Favorite Opponent. (Thanks to Nix, Ebonstar, and others for the all of the ideas)

4. Haven't had a chance to look through the rest of your log but LCB looks amazing, your shading and highlighting are beautiful and the transition of color looks flawless. Beautifully done.
5. Well described and spelled out. I don't see any flaws in it (but I'm currently a little punchy from not enough sleep).
6. dgraz pretty much said it all. A big +1 there (6 40K armies collecting dust)
7. "Dammit, Calm Down": 4. Friendly Gremlins may ignore "Woops". So yes it negates the woops if she is within 4" of the "woopsing" model. Therefore if she is outside of 4" and still the closest I believe she would take the full brunt of the woops. Other, more knowledgeable folks may say otherwise, but thats my $0.02.
8. Thank you. No, not dipped, but I do finish them with 2 coats of clear and one of dullcote. It doesn't really show in person but really shows in pictures.
9. Omenbringer, finally got the pics you requested. Not the best quality but the best I can do for the time being. ASeamus Insidious Madness Convict Gunslinger
10. Another simple basing technique that I use for my is a cobblestone look. I use either Green stuff or Gray stuff, fill the depression in the base completely. Then use an appropriate small rock (I prefer granite that is use for paths and rock driveways), make sure you get the rock wet otherwise the Green/Gray stuff will stick to it. Press the rock lightly and repeatedly into the GS to impart a stone pattern. Then using an exacto or a sculpting tool press parallel lines into the GS. Then press perpendicular lines either gridded for a tile look or staggered (like a brick wall) for a more cobblestone look. Now just paint with gray and then hit with a black wash and you are done. Here's a link to some bases done this way, hope I explained it well enough (and thank you to Alex for teaching this technique to me). http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?32758-Mudge-s-Malifaux-collection
11. Does anyone use the special terrain? Curious how big of an effect they have on games. Our group hasn't been, but then I was looking at Ratty's site and printed the cards for the special terrain and thought they would be a fun addition to our games. So this week's league night we are going to give them a go. These are some of the ones I have turned out so far (figure added for scale). Drink up! Graveyard Campsite Dead Zone Aether Pool Hazardous (corrosive) And Scrap Pile
12. I will try to get them posted this weekend (...."Honey! I need you to take good pictures instead of my crappy ones!"). :1_Happy_Puppet1:
13. Great modelling and beautiful painting. Nicely done.
14. Omenbringer, Thank you very much, happy to post individual shots, anything in particular you'd like to see? Funny that you took a shine to the Madness, its one of the few models that I started painting without a plan, it more just took form as I went (must have been the madness speaking to me).
15. Been on a painting kick lately so here's the latest installment Pandora's box with an added Insidious Madness Misc Malifaux:Canine remains (looks more like someone killed a panda...), Necrotic Machine, Necropunk, and Convict Gunslinger.
16. IIRC Damage is the 'points' incoming, pre-adjustment (ie. armor, spirit, etc). Wounds are the actually applied 'points'. Also a model can't inflict wounds to itself (through talents) if it would take them to 0 wounds, but they can inflict damage. That being said, take this with a grain of salt, I don't have my rule book with me so am going from memory and its still kind of early in the morning. I will double check as soon as I can.
17. I have to agree with Guy in a Suit. I enjoy the challenge of estimating distances. I just estimate, declare what I am going to do then measure the total threat range before moving anything (to avoid and fudging or misplacement, intentional or not). Then if its still out, the attack is wasted. But that is just one of the fun points to the game in my opinion. Not saying it is for everyone, just my $0.02.
18. Those toppers look great, would have loved something like that!
19. One issue I can see is Von Schill is Ruthless, and Sue won't hire with any crews that have one or more members that are either Ruthless or Wicked. What functionality were you looking for specifically with Sue? Possibly sub in the Librarian in his place?
20. Personally I love it when the Red comes up on a negative twist or when the Black comes up on a positive twist, whether I am on the giving or receiving end of it. It is just the freak twists of fate that are a big part of the make up of Malifaux in my opinion. Its just that "there's always a chance" to either snatch victory from the jaws of defeat or defeat from the jaws of victory, that reminds us to always be on our toes when treading in Malifaux.
21. Your puppets look great, I like the detail and lighting effects. Good to see some puppets in the showcase.
22. Those bases for Collodi are perfect! You are dead on with your photography comments (they don't do your painting justice) but your figs and painting are great. Please continue to share.
23. And Three more additions Sorrow Crooked man Killjoy
24. Two more to round out Lady J's crew DM #3 Scales of Justice
