  1. Just for reference: Brewmaster: (0) Drinking Contest: Until the end of the Turn, enemy models within 3 of this model which declare an Action must succeed on a TN 12 Wp duel or take the (1) On the House Action instead. Sensei Yu: (0) Disciple (Ca 6 / TN: 11 ): This model immidiately takes a (0) Action belonging to a friendly Leader in play. <and some additional irrlevant stuff>. If I'm not mistaken completely you do the following: Spend 0-2 AP to declare Action X. Take Wp test #1 Win test #1 -> take Wp test #2 Fail test #2 -> Declare On the House instead but instead of taking it, take Wp test #2 Win test #2 -> Take Action X If you fail #2 then you take On the House. Action and 1st AP completed. Since it's an aura you'll have to make the Wp test twice no matter what, but you can't perform On the House twice. It also won't force you to spend more than the initially declared amount of AP.
  2. I kinda wish that the Ronin-style artwork on page 45 could be turned into an actual model. It's how I wished the Ronin looked like; properly clad and not cheerleaders with swords.
  3. The main reason for not being able to copy said spells is that she can only copy (0) from Freikorps models. On all other models, she can only copy (1) Ca Actions.
  4. ...aaaaand with that I expect to see this errata'd in the next FAQ.
  5. The "Actions Causing Actions" does seem to give The Godlyness the right of it. I'd still like to see it in the FAQ, but I guess my Viks got a little bit happier when facing Raspy from now on.
  6. The trigger may go off, but since your activation has ended you are not allowed to make any more actions and thus they aren't performed. Otherwise if someone had a defensive trigger to paralyze you, you'd hit them, get paralyzed and then still be allowed to keep attacking (assuming your attack doesn't have a or ). Your activation is over, so no more actions of any sort allowed. It's the opponent's turn. At least that's my reasoning.
  7. I would say that Killjoy does not get to make another strike in the same way as a Viktoria would not be able to trigger Whirlwind. End of activation in my mind prevents you from making additional actions of any kind during that activation.
  8. If the "trick" is that the Squatter's marker(s) would somehow end up on Ht4 with no way of getting to them I would say no. The rule on page 48 in my mind should be interpreted so that the original marker is meant to be physically showing at all times so the players don't forget about it. Otherwise this would be gamebreaking in a way I'm fairly certain the devs never intended.
  9. Nathan just replied in another thread that they should be back in stock in hopefully around 3 weeks. Then I would guess that you'll have to add a week or so for retailers to get it.
  10. The Librarian is a nice combo since you can use both her Ancient Words for a ranged attack as well as the heal to support. With Viks, it's also pretty nice if you put Sisters in Fury on BloodVik so she can copy it and thus not only give all sisters +2 Ml dmg but herself as well (making it a very neat 4/6 /8 :blast ) Vanessa also gives a very good spell to cast for ranged attack
  11. I havn't played Tara much, but the Libby is a very solid piece in any crew both as offense and support.
  12. I would say that the main situations for fielding the Specialist is when you either have great synergy with burning or when you have a reliable way of moving him around. Otherwise I find, even in an Outcast crew, that he's just too slow to be very effective. Especially since that he's completely trapped and effectively removed from play if engaged.
  13. You'll need to discard the card at the start of the activation unfortunately, so he'll only get focus for his first shot.
  14. A sister model without a Ml attack (say Sh only) would be able to benefit (and give) some basic movement tricks without being able to make their melee synergy any more bonkers. It's not as if the Viks can't get a bunch of really great shooting from Gunslingers, Sue, Trapper and Lazarus as is and there are plenty of masters who do movement tricks to both a far higher quality and quantity than the Viks.
  15. A sister model with no synergy with any other sister model and explicitly cannot be hired into a sister crew is one of the worst ideas I've heard in quite a long time.
  16. I'd go for a movement/push(/buff) sister with either very weak attack options or a Sh option of some sort.
  17. I used to take Malifaux Child with Viktorias to cast one of the sister-buffing spells before I started putting it on Blood instead of Ashe and casting it with Hannah. The upside of having it on Ashe and casting with the Child is that it's not range or LoS dependent, but the drawback is that it's an otherwise subpar model that you'll want to activate early and even with you'll need a 9 of any suit to get it off.
  18. The main problem is for me that the rule is a bit shoddily written. If you want to allow for a placement of a marker that isn't on top of a model, it's far clearer to simply write that the marker may "not touch another model". "at least 1"" rather suggests that it is more than one inch away. It also makes me wonder what other actions/abilities are written in a similar way that are meant to have a combo with something else. In essence, the fewer instances of "I'll place this marker/model with the intent of being exactly 2,0000000000" away" or "just so that it exactly blocks the LoS" combos that exist, the better. Those things make for a less transparent game in my mind, especially for new players. At least Sonnia will usually have to choose between entirely blocking the LoS of a model or leave some room for Hopkins to shoot, which means the model can shoot back and that the Sonnia player can make a tactical mistake.
  19. My point is just that flying grants you immunity while you are moving. When you have finished a move then you are no longer moving and thus no longer immune. If you didn't start your activation in hazardous terrain but you end the activation in it then you have clearly entered it and will thus take damage. I won't convince you simply due to this, so I'll just leave the discussion and let the rest of you wait for a possible resolution in the next FAQ.
  20. Well, ok, I can see your point. If the model ignores the terrain while moving and the definition of "enter" is strictly defined as being "pushed, moved, or placed within the terrain" then they will not take damage. In my mind though, that definition is merely an example of entering which also would include ending up inside of it due to flight/incorporeal, in the same way the rules don't explicitly disallow for ending up on top of impassable terrain. That the models somehow keep flying until the exact moment that their next activation starts again is in my mind far more absurd and unintended than that they land after each movement.
  21. For flying: 1 - Is the model currently moving? 1.1 - If no or unsure, check 2. 1.2 - If yes, nothing happens. 2 - Is the model, after completing the previous Action, stationary inside hazardous terrain? 2.1 - If no, nothing happens. 2.2 - If yes, check 3. 3 - Did the model end up inside the hazardous terrain due to any kind of movement/placement effect or started its activation within it? 3.1 - If no, nothing happens 3.2 - If yes, take damage. In essence, all models are fairly poor fliers and can only fly for the total distance of their Wk/Cg length at any one point before they have to land. If they have a Wk 5 and decide to walk twice they will fly 5", land, fly another 5" and then land again. In the case of a charge, they will fly their charge distance, land and then, firmly placed on the ground, proceed to attack their target.
  22. In my mind it's perfectly clear that you are only ignoring the terrain with flight/incorporeal while you are actively moving the model from point A to point B. The entire point of these skills is that you're able to move over/through objects that you would otherwise be stopped or slowed by. At the end of a move however, you will always land or re-materialize and at that point enter any terrain you might find yourself in. You fly while you move, not while you're stationary or attacking or anything else. Had there been a "hover" ability, then that would've been another thing completely.
  23. Ah, I read it that the other model was charging Ama. If she's the one charging then there's as you say no damage.
