  1. Love the colour scheme, nice work!
  2. Good stuff! The painted face and conversion on Misaki is the stand-out for me too.
  3. Welcome! Not every model has a V2 card so you don't need to worry about that (Cassandra should have a V2). You can check the official errata for any updates (http://www.malifaux.com/Fixes.php). Most people play 30-35SS scraps once they've got to grips with things but while learning, 25SS games are good. To expand Collette you'll definitely want a coryphee duet and mechanical doves. For Pandora I'd recommend Teddy as a good place to start. The Pull My Finger wiki has a full list of what to add first to the box sets and a full list of what each master can use.
  4. Great stuff, definitely one of the best looking raspy crews I've seen.
  5. The standing after the 1st game night have been posted on the Garrison forum (the table's wonky but I'll sort that out later!). Full details of everyone's territories, etc will be posted tonight whenI get in from work.
  6. That's generally my key goal, a meat grinder is a lot less scary if it's off the table. I'd usually try and pick her off at range, definitely don't want to be next to her! When you charge you really need to be sure you can put her down though, black jokered attacking her a few times and that is usually followed by a hammer to the face.
  7. To be fair, although I did kill Misaki easily, I didn't get any VP for the scheme cause I did it with Lady J. I'll just stick to my usual grudge on Taelor. I hate Taelor!
  8. It's good that you already understand that there is no catch all list for Malifaux and that you need to tailor it to your objectives, tat's the hard bit out of the way. The Perdita list looks pretty solid. I'd certainly recommend picking up Abuela and look at swapping the 2 Austringers for her and either a watcher or a desperate merc plus a SS. I'm curious on your thinking for the Sonnia crew, are the desperate mercs there purely to use Violation of Magic on? I've found them of little use as you probably don't want to commit some of your SS pool to keep them alive. Also remember that she can summon stalkers with VoM so you don't necessarily need to start with them. Hopkins doesn't have a great deal of synergy with the rest of the crew (despite coming in the box set), he's worth taking for his huge damage output but he will probably never see the end of a game. This crew would probably struggle with objectives like reconnoiter. Hoffman crew is looking good, think you're definitely on the right lnes with him. Lady J is probably the hardest to build a crew for as so many options work with her. I'd certainly recommend taking the peacekeeper as she can buff it really well. I'd also recommend the judge for the same reason. One thing I would say with Lady J is don't be afraid to be outnumbered, she can soon level things up. Things like Witchlings and Francisco can work really well with her too as they're relatively cheap and really benefit from her buffs nicely. Best thing to do with her is try different combinations and see what works for you.
  9. Great basing and nice paintjobs too. I'm totally stealing the idea for a pimped out Nico, it's genius!
  10. Nice paint jobs and good to see someone that's putting the extra thought into the crew's scheme.
  11. Nice basing and good paint jobs too, especially the golem.
  12. Great work, especially like the spiders, is difficult to make something so small look good.
  13. My peacekeeper had some big mould lines on but they were in places that were not too much of a problem to remove. I find it a lot harder to get rid of a mould line going through hair than on a massive construct like this. I agree with Requirement that the peacekeeper is far nastier to put together in theory than it is in practice. It is time consuming because of all the pinning (that reallyis a necessary step!) but it's not as difficult as it will first look. If you put the smoke stacks and leg joints (hips?) onto the body and the hands onto the arms (the hands all looked the same to me so I just chopped the triangles off, makes things much easier), then it's a piece of cake. There's quite a bit of fiddling to get it together but it's so worth it, the peacekeeper is amazing!
  14. I've been making the transition from GW paints to Vallejo and am happy with the change (with a few P3 paints mixed in too). So far the only exception has been Devlan Mud but I've just got the new version of it and it's nowhere near as good. I'm swaying more towards Vallejo inks and mixing my own washes now. For brushes I go for Kalinsky Sable for the standard brushes and a mixture of P3 and Army Painter for drybrushes.
  15. The signup sheet is now available for download on the Garrison forum (http://www.yorkgarrison.co.uk/index.php/forum7?func=view&catid=10&id=6575&limit=6&start=24#6654). The entrants so far are heavily weighted towards new players with one guy not even having played a proper game yet. This is a great onboarding point for less experienced players as there's a few at the same point in learning the game. I'll probably leave a good chunk of the game nights free to act as rules support, etc for the newer players so there will be help there if you need it. As added incentive, I'll be a taking a crew that I have used just once, more than 2 years ago and I didn't even win that one so I'll probably be in the running for the wooden glory Don't forget, there is also a painting competition attached to this if that's your cup of tea. All you need to enter this is a legal 35SS that you've painted and used in the league (each model has to have been used, not that specific combination).
  16. Welcome to the forums! Might be worth looking up your nearest henchman, they can be helpful to new players (e.g. finding games, getting intros, etc). Depending where you're based, I think your closest one might be Richard (user name Malandres), might be worth giving him a shout.
  17. Erm, guessing you don't play on indoor location boards, wouldn't fancy trying to fit that avatar into a building! Both paintjobs look good, would be nice to see brighter pics though, especially of Perdita.
  18. Excellent, good to add another new player! ---------- Post added at 03:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:36 PM ---------- Having read your blog, I now realise you're not as new as I thought! Is your other half likely to be joining the fun too?
  19. As a challenge, I'm bringing the weakest crew I think I'll be able to paint before the end (I'm not the quickest!) so there'll be competition for the wooden glory!
  20. There'll be a team from York to add, just need to work out who to bring for our 3rd.
  21. Over the course of 6 weeks (16/05-20/06), I'll be hosting a Malifaux league on a Wednesday night at York Garrison. This is aimed at newer players so only requires playing a minimum of 4 games over the 6 weeks to be eligible for prizes. This will also include a painting competition, the winner of which will be voted for by the Malifaux community on this forum. Full details and a downloadable rules pack are available on the York Garrison website (http://www.yorkgarrison.co.uk/index.php/forum7?func=view&catid=10&id=6575, bottom of page 1). If you're interested in joining this league or would like some more infomation, either PM me or post on the Wyrd or Garrison forum.
  22. Managed to sort it out. The link posted wouldn't allow it but then I went back into the event tickets page and it worked. Ticket bought, see you there!
  23. Tried to buy a ticket and it won't let me add one to the cart. Any ideas if this is a system problem as I've tried on my laptop and phone?
  24. That judge conversion is awesome! Really like the watcher too, it has a real 'batteries not included' vibe to it (for those old enough to remember it).
