  1. This refers to the Gorar. Gorar == original model. Not the dead model.
  2. I converted mine from Reaper Bones Giant Scorpions by shortening the legs and swapping pincers for tentacles from a dune beast.
  3. Scavenger gives out fast. Stutter also isn't used for anything else in this crew. She doesn't have to scheme, but can. She can mess with the opponent's crew position with bury and can move fast around if needed. The stalker would be able to just do schemey things and Necropunks are even cheaper.
  4. I am finding a lot of success into Plant Explosives by adding Tara to my Leveticus crew. Leveticus 2 Waifs Tara 2 Necropunks Rusty Scavenger Super mobile with Tara, Necropunks, and Scavenger having some form of Leap. Tara can summon 2 Void Hunters, which would cost the same as Tara if I hired them instead, plus Tara can summon more if the Hunters die.
  5. ^ my point. One says range and distance are synonymous, other says 1” isn’t a range. I wouldn’t try it, unless you’re looking to argue. Still hoping for a ruling, though.(As reference, I play Tara, Scion of the Void has a similar ability)
  6. An added note, Interacts that don’t drop scheme markers, such as Deliver a Message, have never been ruled one way or the other. FAQ maybe?
  7. The Nothing Beast has a concealment aura as a bonus action and the Friekorp Engineer can give a specific model concealment, but otherwise it’s terrain, friendly fire, and Zip’s crew.
  8. Thanks to everyone who came. We doubled in size this year. I hope we can do the same next year. Ah, dang. I just roped myself in for another one, didn't I?
  9. I figure it's about time I posted the strategies. Round 1: Interference, Flank Deployment Round 2: Collect the Bounty, Standard Deployment Round 3: Guard the Stash, Close Deployment These are all from the Gaining Grounds 2015 document. Schemes will be revealed on the day.
  10. Back for it's second year, Brawl in the Hall returns to Hobby Town, Fort Collins, bigger, badder, and bloodier than ever. Do you have what it takes to face three grueling rounds of 50ss Malifaux? Can you knock reining champion Troy "The Box Opens" Mekelburg off the podium? Saturday, June 20th, 2015 is the day to find out. Tickets are just $10 at the door. Preregistration can be purchased any Saturday after 4, from the ringmaster, Allan "Wet Noodle Fists" Wilger. We will be using Gaining Ground rules, scenarios to be announced.
  11. A good rule for any terrain is a floor equals 3". This is slightly out of proportion, but gives room to get your hand in there to move the mini.
  12. There will be two events at this years Genghiscon Check out www.denvergamers.org for con details, preregistration, and lodging deals. The first will be Saturday Feb 14th, starting at 7PM It will be a fun demo event, though anybody is welcome to sign up, regardless of experience. Each player will be using a single Enforcer, with one upgrade, and it may be leader only. All of the players will start at one end of a 6' table, and make a mad dash through a horde of undead to try and reach the other end. First one there wins. If you die, just grab a new Enforcer, and start anew. I will be providing preset Enforcer for anyone who needs or wants to use them. Or bring your own. This event looks to be completely fun based. A great way to learn the rules in a group setting, or just throw down Malifaux in a different way. The event is #3005, has a $3 entry, above con badge, and runs from 7-11PM. If we manage to complete a run, I will reset and do again. The second event if the return of the Malifaux Tourney. Absent from Tacticon, this event is back and ready to rock. It will be on Sunday, Feb 15th, starting at 9:00AM. Please be there early so that we can get the ball roll AT 9. It will be a first quarter Gaining Grounds event. Strategies and deployments as listed in that document. I will reveal schemes at the event. This event is # 3019 and is $4 above con badge. If you have any questions about either event, feel free to post a reply here, or pm me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I hope to many of you there!

  16. Out monthly hobby nights are back! After a rough summer were life got in the way of some good painting and building, we are back in the saddle and looking yo make some progress. Need pointers or tips or just a little push? Drop on by, we have award winning painters on hand to help you out. Expert painter who doesn't need any of us yocals telling you the ins and outs? That is awesome too, drop by, and give us pointers. None of the above. Fantastic, we mostly just get it done together and yack about whatever come up. Nothing gets you into the painting and modeling spirit faster or better than a group of like minded individuals doing the same thing. 17. It has been a while since I ran an official demo event, but I'm not dead yet! On August 9th from 5PM until 7PM, I will be running Demos in the Fort Collins Hobby Town basement game room. We have plenty of space, and I already have interest, so it should be a blast. Use my crews or bring yours for a walk through and whatever pointers I can offer.
  18. Come join us for out April After Hours Hobby Night. Starting whenever you want, but things really get cooking after the main doors close at 7PM All taking place in the Hobby Town basement. Horsetooth and College in Fort Collins, CO. Award winning painters will be on hand to give tips, pointers, and answer questions. Easy going group, all levels of painters attending and accepted. We look forward to seeing you there!
  19. It's that time of the month again. No, not that time, its time for the monthly hobby night at Hobby Town Fort Collins. This Saturday, March 1st, starting a 7PM, we will be downstairs painting out little eyes out. Feel free to drop by, paint a model or two, get tips from our two award winning painters, shoot the breeze, and just discuss general painting, conversions, and basing. We may even get into terrain if anyone brings it up. Just be warned, we are like a freight train, and once we get started... We look forward to see as many of you there as can grab a chair and pull up to the table(and that is a lot, let me tell you).
  20. I'm sorry wasn't able to post during the event. But better late than never. Here are the survivors(sorta, the guy on the front right went home and came back) I am the guy behind the camera. That is my junk in the foreground. The longest marathon came in at just under 24 hours. I made 20.5 hours. Over 150 hours of total painting in a weekend. An awesome sight to behold. How did I do on my personal challenge? I managed to complete all four of the models I set out to do. I finished just after the 20 hour mark with Izamu, who I hope to enter into a painting contest this weekend. I also managed to avoid painting any of my Infinity stuff, and stuck to just Malifaux, so I consider that another win Hope to see some of you at the next one in August!
  21. Are there any changes to the last Beta? If so can we get a tracker? I'm running an event on Sunday, and don't want to miss anything. Thank you.
  22. Don't get hooked on one beater. I found the Desolation Engine to almost always be better than the NB. Then I fought Rasputina and learned that, in that situation, he goes down super fast. Even with rebury, resend at beginning of the next turn. The two abominations in the middle of her crew were nice, but that went down fairly fast as well. The next game I went NB and burned my hand every turn, dealing damage and sucking cards. Worked much better. I have found Taelor very useful against ressers, especially summoning ones, also constructs(the above Raspy). Also, if you bury an unactivated model, then drop them second activation, Tara can use her Pull the Void again. A note on Bishop 4 AP Flurry machine, he is also pretty awesome as a 4AP scheme dropping machine as well. Giving your opponent's models Fast can be useful, if you can bury them, then unbury them and use the Fast yourself. Don't rush to ditch those low cards turn one, you will need them to fail the Wp duel to become buried on the Pull the Void trigger(I may or may not have done this) I, generally, run a dual beater list. I Pull the Void a model to give it Fast, but don't bury it. Pull the Void a second model and do bury it. The first model can then be buried later by a Death Marshal. Make sure the first is your big hitter. Then, unbury your first beater with Tara and zip it forward, like any other time. But, if he kills a model(don't be afraid to aim small), blam, the second beater is right there, also not activated, waiting to bring more pain.
  23. So you like to paint, do you? Well, we can fix that! Are you painter enough to put brush to model in a marathon paint until you pass out or your eyes bleed? Starting Saturday February 8th and running until Sunday February 9th, and I do mean running until, we will be doing our biannual painting event. This isn't you momma's painting night, this is a no holds barred, last painter standing. We start Saturday and run until we all give in on Sunday. Painters start walking in around Noon on Saturday and usually crawl out between 2 and 4PM on Sunday. Don't have that kinda of marathon brush licking in you? Come by anyway. Our own award winning painter will be on hand, along with plenty of wannabes with tips and tricks. A good experience for all levels of painter. It is also a good way to get motivated on that project that's been giving you fits. I will be taking photos on Saturday for everyone's own personal challenges and posting them online so everyone can cheer you on. My personal challenge: Finish Joss and Izamu, start to finish my Killjoy proxy and my new Malifaux Child, and anytime left will be funneled into other models I have laying around. Whats yours? Heck, drop it in here, and we will make you an honorary participant if you can't come in person.
  24. Come join us February 1st for Malifaux 2nd Edition demos. The official time is from 4-6 PM at the Hobby Town in Fort Collins. On the corner of JFK and Horsetooth. In actuality, I will be there from a little after 3:30 until they kick me out. Feel free to catch me for a game, or drop by to watch, participate, and learn about this awesome system. Besides myself, we have several veteran players who can be persuaded to play a game, if demos aren't what you're after. Come any time, stay as long or a little as you like, I can setup full games, or we can do a quicky demo and have you out in half an hour. Though, after playing this game, you may never want to stop :1_Happy_Puppet2:
