  4. Teddies still have the Nightmare keyword, so they haven't been left behind at all. Cuteness is debatable. While Collodi and his marionettes have moved to DMH, everything else is still there (most being versatile models to boot). Further, with the push for Henchmen led crews being a thing, both Widow Weaver and Hamamatsu can fill the "puppet master" role if you prefer that theme. At least till Collodi comes back to Neverborn proper in some future release (fingers crossed). The Fairy Court theme isn't "gone", it's just not reflected in individual abilities/action names as much and, as you pointed out, three individual models got consolidated into a single unit type. Simplification is part of the goal of ME3 and, although admittedly some flavor is lost on individual cards as a result, the models themselves and the fluff I'm sure will reflect that the Fairy Court theme is alive and well. I'm a big fan of Dreamer's old theme and it's partially what got me into Malifaux in the first place. But lets wait and see how the rest of the crew aesthetics play out before we get too concerned over Neverborn's "overall theme". 😉
  5. You noticed that too huh? Dunno if it was intentional (betting it was - Wyrd is cheeky like that), but it fits with the new Dreamer 'tude. 😉
  6. Wow! Regardless of my personal opinions on specific models, the new art is absolutely incredible! Well done! the Good: The Dreamer himself looks perfect and is nearly exactly how I envisioned him to look as an angry teenager. Very A Clockwork Orange meets Charles Dickens. Curious what the bugger at his heels is supposed to represent... a new Daydream? Or maybe a "diminutive" Chompy/generic nightmare kinda like we had for the ME2 sculpt? Coppelius is solid (no pun intended) and I dig his eyeball-filled man-purse. However, the Alps are the all-stars here and I hope they will be available to purchase as a 3-pack separately, 'cause I wantz them! the Bad: Chompy himself is very 'meh' to me. The art/render is impressive from a design/model perspective, but I don't much care for it myself. Apart from making continuous jokes about his "wider proportions", the lack of a lower jaw/fully defined head is... distracting to me. Dunno how else to describe it - it's just off. Also the general look/vibe of the crew, though impressive, is again just kinda 'meh' in my opinion when compared to the old aesthetic. There was a creepy innocence and unique, cohesive feel to the old crew that actually drew me to it (and Malifaux as a whole), which is obviously missing from this new incarnation. Dreamer's ME3 look feels like he has put down his old childhood toys and is now obsessed with superheroes, heavy metal and edginess lol Overall, I love the art and the dramatic shift in Dreamer's crew, even if it takes a little time to grow on me. This is certainly not your 'business as usual' Malifaux!
  7. Got the opportunity to play my first real game yesterday and I can attest a pair of Motor Scouts worked wonders for objective claiming. I gave them each the Toughness asset (1 script for two copies, making the pair of Scouts 5 script in total). Basically they're fast enough to start scoring me points from objectives Turn 1 and with Toughness they can even tank oncoming units for a decent amount of time while the rest of my army does their thing. I highly encourage you try them out if you haven't already.
  8. It's a good plan - certainly not worse then my initials thoughts. Guess I'll be conducting some magnet configuration experiments in the near future!
  9. As stated already, magnets are the way to go. I'm partial to TableWar myself, but they are a bit on the pricier side. The only snag at the moment I've found for ToS specifically is finding a good method of magnetizing both the minis themselves AND the fireteam trays, i.e. so the models can hang out in the fireteam trays and still be transported safely. Apart from adding magnets to the mini bases and attaching thin metal circular "sheets" to the trays' slots, I can't think of an easier way at the moment to pull it off. Washers maybe?
  10. Or maybe an alt. Guild Autopsy, seeing as he's dead and all? 😁

  13. Welcome to Homefront: Georgia! This will be a low-commitment league running parallel with Wyrd's global Homefront campaign. What does that mean? It means, by joining the league you will play games of Malifaux and report them to Wyrd as normal per the Homefront campaign rules, but you will also be eligible for some fantastic awards at the end! Further, you will report your games to me as well and I will keep statistics regarding Georgia’s contributions to the campaign so we can see how we stack up to the overall results. Exciting! To participate in the league all you need to do is inform me that you wish to participate and play games of Malfaux. That's it. No entry fee required, no minimum number of games to play, and you may join at any time. Games do not need to be played at any specific venue, although Giga-Bites is a prime location for obvious reasons. Also, for any players participating in TFL, feel free to play those games as part of this league as well! Two birds with one stone! Note: when playing a TFL game you cannot opt to use the 'special scheme' for the 2 week block - see below. Remember, all games must conform to Wyrd’s campaign rules (aka, 5 games max per 2 week block, etc.) and both players must be participating in the league in order for games to count towards league scores. Other than that, have fun and defend the Homefront! Awards: League Champion – Most games won throughout the league. World Traveler – Most games played during the league, win or lose. The Gentleman – Most favorite player votes. Group Photo – Best painted crew at the end of the league (more details to come). Wetworker – Most special schemes achieved during the league. Favorite Player Votes: At the end of every 2 week block each league participant can submit to me their vote for their favorite opponent during the block. The player with the most votes at the end of the league will be awarded The Gentleman award. Players may potentially receive multiple votes over the course of the league (1 per 2 week block, maximum 5 in total), so make sure to be pleasant and be a good sport! Special Schemes: At the beginning of each 2 week block I will select a Scheme from the GG2017 Schemes that will be the “Special Scheme" during the block. This Scheme will be available in the Scheme pools for all league games during the block on top of any other Schemes generated. If completed (aka max points are scored from the Scheme) you will earn a Wetworker point. The player with the most Wetworker points at the end of the league will earn the Wetworker award. Visit the Georgia Malifaux Facebook page for additional information or to schedule games. Games for the league can be played at Giga-Bites Gaming Cafe on Wednesday during regular Malifaux open play.

  22. My wallet aches in anticipation! It's going to be difficult to pick between these factions and I think the models themselves will have to be the deciding factor. I am also a little surprised that the Three Kingdoms did not make an initial showing, but that gives you guys a solid contender for inevitable expansion down the road. 4 is a solid number of factions to start. Super excited for the Kickstarter launch!

  24. Once upon a time... in a city called Malifaux... bad things happened! "Twisted Tales" is a Rapid Growth League wherein players can come together to enjoy the hobby and game that is Malifaux. The League will focus on exposing new players to the game and, for veteran players, adds a fun twist to a conventional escalation league by utilizing Malifaux's Story Encounter system. Winning the League will be less about defeating your opponents and more about exploring all Malifaux has to offer through an achievement point system. The League will begin on October 17, 2016 and run for 6 weeks, culminating with awards and a painting contest on November 28, 2016! Games shall be played at Tier 1 Cards and Games, located at 1921 W. Dimond Blvd., #B3, Anchorage, AK 99515 Additional information and the League Rules Packet is available on the Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1577085125932630/
