  1. Hah, I like both those suggestions.
  2. Now that the 2.0 rules, model stats, and upgrades are now officially released for Wave 1 models, what do you think about 10 T as a faction going forward? Is our faction still tournament worthy? Will you have to change your play style for any Masters? Are you more/less likely to play certain masters and/or models? Any particular strategy or schemes you prefer?
  3. I have only played against them in 1.5 but they are a fun crew to play against. As for Huggy being a Henchman, I don't know if it is a problem as I am guessing it was tested in-house or something so hopefully it won't cause any issues but it sure threw me for a loop when I first heard about it. I think it would be even more fun if, when Huggy was leading a crew, he had to take Jacob Lynch as a totem (with appropriately scaled back stats and actions of course). Potentially confusing, granted, but the idea of it just seems appealing and amuses me.
  4. Its great that it hasn't been a problem yet but: All the models haven't been re-released under the new framework of rules yet and many more players that didn't participate in the closed or open Beta aren't likely comfortable with the rules yet to be able to play such a strategy during a game. I for one will feel better after all the models are released and we have 6-9 months worth of tournaments under M2Es belt. Until then, I think it is something to keep an eye on. Of course we are now talking about 2 different topics that are albeit somewhat connected. 1) swarm lists and 2) misleading sense of balance by descreasing the number of turns in a game. I like the bolt reference actually. If you look at the first 50 meters of his races there are a lot of sprinters who can match or even beat him. It isn't until the last half to third of a race that his body type allows him to pull ahead of other mere mortal sprinters. Even if shortening the game by a turn was a "quick fix" for balancing the game out a bit more I think it will be interesting to see, especially when the game expands beyond the intial models already released thru 1.5, whether the fix, if indeed that is what it is, holds up or not.
  5. Nah, just cuddle Nicodem...I never liked that guy anyway. Too creepy. Definitely sound like an interesting test scenario. Just my 2 cents.
  6. While some of my favorite models have as yet to be released and so I am chomping at the bit a little I am reigning in my anticipation by virtue of the fact that I would like them to be as tested as possible under the new rules before they are released. Combining that with the volume of models left to release and I think, personally, I will be happy if the wave 2 models all get released during the first 3 quarters of 2014. It is hard to wait though, thats for sure.
  7. Wow, I love the contrast between the blue of the body/wing structure and the brown membranes on the Avatar Perdita model. It makes it a very eye-catching piece. Lightening the wing structure and the additional glazes certainly worked out well! Not to mention the normal Perdita is totally sweet!
  8. It is an interesting theory and certainly could prove to be true and while I agree that I don't think any useful evidence to be able to prove it, one way or another, will be available till the model pool expands and people get more comfortable with the ruleset it is a scenario to watch out for certainly. @Razhem: sounds like he was clarifying his initial post...you should consider keeping comments on topic and not making it personal as per the newly re-stated forum policy.
  9. Actually it is a totally new stat for M2E: "Body Odor Index" aka B.O. Some models have better hygiene than others and still other models are just plain stinky. This new stat reflects the personal hygiene of each model. That's what I heard from a guy who knows someone that heard about it on a pod-cast or something like that...
  10. I don't know. Flames on Stalkers makes sense what with the burning abilities in their crew but flames on death marshals just doesn't feel right. I guess that makes me an anti-flame-head.
  11. "Don't, don't, don't, don't you, forget about me." --- sorry, mentioning high school and peoples' opinions just reminds me of the movie: "The Breakfast Club". I say to each their own, and hey, at least people care enough about the game to feel the need to express their opinion about it with passion whether their view is perceived as negative or positive. Its better than apathy and indifference.
  12. Perhaps a strong Epoxy might do the trick...for more support you could make a "muddy" portion of the base with green stuff to allow as much of the paw be surrounded by material before using the epoxy? Another idea might be to try mixing some iron filings into some paint for the paws and use a magnet on the base? Don't know if you would get enough hold this way however. Man, those paws are awfully small. Best of luck with whatever you try.
  13. Well, just a thought here, but you can always use magnets to attach the mini to the base. That way you can have as many different styles of bases as you wish.
  14. Just an FYI, the Wandering Dragon is closed from 2-4pm. Most of the Mali-folk get there around 6:00 pm on Thursdays although there are one or two gents who sometimes show up a bit earlier. Aside from Gruesome there are also several regulars who usually have enough models to demo a game. I doubt I will be there this week as Lacrosse season runs rampant in my house in April and May but I hope to see you there sometime soon. TD
  15. Signed up for: League Cake Team Story Masters As it happens, I found out later that I will be coaching Lacrosse in Indiana that weekend so I will only be attending the Cake tournament. :Sad_Puppet1:
  16. Just throwing one more variant of the ideas already presented into the mix. I have used mat board glued to sheet metal. The sheet metal helps prevent the mat board from buckling if extensive basing / painting is done to it and allows for magnetic trees / bushes as well. The downside is the amount of time spent cutting both the matboard and the sheet metal.
  17. Well 10-T is a shadow organization right? So perhaps they are still infiltrating the other factions. "Shhh, be vewy, vewy quiet..." :Hiding_Puppet:
  18. Yep, I am also in the US and still waiting for my cards to arrive as well so you aren't the only one at the oars of that particular boat. Well, I went home after posting this to find my cards waiting for me.
  19. I'd say that definitely would not work. Nope, no way...mostly because I am sure I will have to play against your crew multiple times in the next few weeks Gruesome and there is just no way I am going to deal with that scenario without eventually physically damaging that model. So no, no way that is legal.
  20. Thanks Gruesome for organizing and running a fun tourney and thanks to the WD for the support as well. I had a blast. To anyone who played on the badlands board I am sorry if it wasn't too great to play on, it was my first attempt at making any sort of terrain and unfortunately I didn't take time to play test it at all. I will be finishing the painting and details on it so if anyone has suggestions on how to make it more playable or better looking please shoot me PM. Looking forward to the next event.
  21. I can't speak for the TO but, in my opinion, I don't think that would be a problem as the regulars at the WD are a pretty laid back sort. If it is an issue, I will lend you a judge model from my Dead Justice box. Hope to see you all this Saturday.
  22. Hey Dan, Thanks again for organizing a great tournament. As with the events at the last two Adepticons, if anyone didn't have a good time, it was there own darn fault because from this player's perspective at least everything seemed, once again, to run flawlessly. I am looking forward to both the next event at Games Plus and Adepticon this year as well. Cheers, JS
  23. Just chimming in with another variation of using the tab as a pin. Instead of cutting the tab square on each foot I make two additional cuts with my pliers after cutting each foot square. The second set of cuts make the square tab on each foot into a point. Cutting at a 40-45 degree angle from the sides of each foot. I dab a bit of paint on the end of each point to mark the models placement on the base and then use my normal "paper-clip" sized bit to drill a hole into the base. Lastly I put one of my files which has a point to work in an effort to slightly widen the top of the holes I just created. To this point, I haven't had to fill in the hole as it is still small enough for the foot to still cover it.
