  1. Ya it would be a shame if you got buried right after that and he is out for the rest of the turn, or Paralyzed and lots of models can do that. But well that is the game. But the combo could be brutal have fun with it that's what this game is for.
  2. With the Arcanist I find that Sabotage is great and so is power ritual or grudge, it is great because Bodygard is used so much and I think Hold Out is not good because most schemes get you into the middle of the table so its not that hard getting into there control area.
  3. I agree the 2/3/4 is not the best but if you are 10" out you can do 3 strikes with paired and a positive twist on damage and end up 10" away and cannot be charged. They are what they are but I think they do just fine damage if you were a 2/3/5 I could understand also but any more then that and they would have to be 16points.
  4. Well I guess everyone with Colette played Lilith this weekend. Wow that was a tough fight for me at 35ss. I took my normal list of Cassy, Corphy, 1 performer and 2 doves. It was with someone who had not played for awhile so we just went 1 scheme. I had Claim jump which vs Lilith was one of the worst strategies because he knows where I have to be. He had Kill my Caster and totems as his Strategy(Contain Power). Schemes were I had Power Ritual, he has Breakthrough. Game ended up neither of us had our strategies and both had our schemes I won 3-2. Now thoughts about Colette with this, If they are melee Heavy and know where you should be its bad, if you do small amounts of damage lots of times vs Black Blood its bad, and the real killer is if you crew really relies on going first and your opponent has the doppelganger its bad. The killers here for me were the doppelganger because the turn Cassy died she couldn't get southern charm up, and the turn the Corphy Died they couldn't get use soul stone to help with defense. Biggest thing I learned was Colette is hard as hell to kill she ended up having to take out my performer for the 5 wounds, I did it that way because I was down to about 15 cards left in the deck and the black joker was still in it. 1 card flip to 2 is better odds for me. Then she Blinding flashed Lilith to swap with the corphy to run the rest of the game. Corphy lit 2 beacons and were the MVP, first 4 turns they ran around to corners then came running back to the combat to get swapped out with Colette then push everyone 4 inches away from where I was running with Colette. Once again I won with Colette with only her and a dove on the table and my opponent had 2 young 1 mature and 1 terror tot Nephilums on the table with Lilith and the doppelganger. So ya you can get your face wrecked and still win. Another Game with the same list vs. Rasputina and that was just ugly I tabled him turn 5 with only losing 1 dove and Cassy to combat.
  5. Wow Never expected this to powderkeg as much as it did. Thank you for the heads up that I can not buy cards early, I completely understand your reason for this I just didn't know how far ahead of time you had the final cards done. As for PDF cards they would be nice for models not yet out but I couldn't see myself not using the standard cards. Thank you for the quick answer I guess I have to break out the scanner to get the Silent one and Kaeris playable till they come out.
  6. Ok I did not know where to put this. I am asking if anyone knows if you are able to buy the stat cards for Models that are not out yet. I ask because I have the books but it is much easier to play with the cards and I would love to play with some of the rules but don't want to wait till the models get released at which point I will buy them.
  7. I like how I do have a base for good card and solestone management. With Raspy I will have 8 cards which is great, 4 of those can be changed into solestones a turn, plus I can draw a 9th card with Kaeris' 0 action, There are also several surge triggers out there to only have the best cards I want to cast with. I like the ideas I have been given but what do you think will work best with Raspy because I feel that I am not supporting her enough, I don't know if I should go with a Silent one or if I should get a melee beatstick or a ranged threat. The one Key to my list is that I have 5 big threats that can use solestones.
  8. Thank you for your advise Silent one does work more for my fluff too so that works. I just kinda don't like putting that many stones into totems because that would be 10 soulstones worth of totems and well I will have to get some games in to see how this work and I can't wait for the models. Please if anyone else has suggestions tell me.
  9. I have found that Colette's Crew is not great at killing stuff straight out but I have had no problem winning games because the crew is great at getting missions done. For power ritual which is 3 points, you can get it done turn 2, and with Sabotage you can also get another 2 points if you chose the right piece of terrain turn 2. So I think that killing with them is not there thing cause they can just get stuff done with such speed. To kill stuff I have found that performers are key to keep alive to cast seduction. You have to keep Cassy Alive till late game which is hard to do but work it, and the Coryphee you have to keep alive with using Soul Dancer because soulstones is what this crew does best. Ya but this crew will die really quickly but so much fun to play.
  10. So I started with Colette who I really love and I have her box set with the Corphy. I am looking into a second Master so I can do brawls. My first thought was Ramos because with the Mobile toolbox you can just make fools disappear, and also since Colette has so many constructs Ramos could help them. But I really don't like the Models for Ramos and his crew so that is not what I am thinking about. The Idea I wanted to talk about is well "The Star Presents Fire and Ice". So my thought was Colette with Cassandra and the Corphy with 2-3 doves as my Colette Core and as my other Master have Rasputina with the Essence of Power then to throw the loop into all of this is bring Kaeris. So with this I am at 37 points with only 2 doves. So my question is to get to say 50 points what else. Options: Performer and Mannequin December Acolyte Silent One Soulstoone Miner Johan Totem for Kaeris I don't have any models but the Colette stuff yet but buying the stuff doesn't bother me. Thoughts on the list in general and what I should bring would be greatly appreciated. I will be honest I do not like the Gamin the Golem or the Hoarcat Models so I would doubt I would get them even if they would be the best models to put in.
  11. Well if you don't get the rulebook and paint and others it will be 50-65 bucks all in for decent Colette Crew $39 for the box, $16 for Corpy, and 7.50 for a deck. So well that I don't think is too much money. As for the playstyle it really isn't a hammer and anvil you have to stay light on your feet and dance. I mean you are playing Showgirls so that makes sense. I hope I have been helpful.
  12. MrNybbles it is a very nice writeup but I disagree with you on several points. First is Harmless is not canceled by link unless it has changed because harmless ends when you make your first attack and Link is not an attack. I do like linking my mannequin with Cassandra because they can activate together giving you Southern Charm and Mirrors. This makes it so that it is hard to hit Cassandra and if you do they will be at a negative or multiple negative twist to damage so your odds on a weak are much higher which will do nothing. If they shoot at the mannequin they have to get through 5 damage reduction and if you shoot it I am ok with that. My biggest thing with the mannequins is that I would love to have 1 with Cassandra and 1 with Corpyphee but in play its hard to get that many decent masks when you are going to be dropping between 2 and 4 cards a turn from your hand for soulstones. I have started just running 1 performer and attaching the Mannequin to Cassandra I do this more because I just have not figured out the performers I don't think they are that good, they die quick, they don't hit hard or fast, and the if you want mirrors on your heavy hitter you will not have the cards for Siren call. That is my 2 cents.
  13. It is the crew I started with and I have loved them since getting them. The models look great but most of Malifaux's do but they just play tricky. Playing tricky in mind I won my first 3 games with them while still trying to learn. The one thing they miss is a hammer or an anvil but they have 2 amazing scalpels in Colette and the Corphree. I will tell you when I tell everyone getting into any game. (I play the 3 main tabletop games) Be prepared to drop $150 to play this game with rulebook and cards and models and paints and so on. If you can't spend that much keep you money for more important things in life. The other thing with Malifaux go with the crew that you like the fluff and the look of because there is great balance so go with what you like.
