  1. Got ours Friday night and promptly demoed it. Granted, all we did was stick pegs in bases and didn't even get the flack taken off... but good times (and pizza!) were had by all.
  2. First things first... they look awesome! Waiting impatiently for our Super Dungeon Explore preorder to come into our FLGS... but I'm sad that preordering through stores rather than SodaPop itself does not look like it will include the special mini. Aside : Does anyone else think that this practice has become more and more prevalent? Wyrd is the only company I personally know of that gets around that by having their convention only minis available online for non-convention goers... but I know that I'll also be temporarily missing out on the Pokey Vic and Leveticus Puppet Wars minis for a time because I try to support my FLGS. *sad face* Disclaimer: In no way does this reflect any frustration with Wyrd as a specific company, but rather the direction that miniature companies are going in general.
  3. We're in! (of course you knew that already *grin*) Tom will probably tend towards the judging, playing if he can... I can demo/judge/run around/get food/cake taste test/babysit/be entertainment as needed.
  4. I just saw the Orphanage accessories on the main store, those look like they'd be perfect! With the added fun of not having to sculpt new stuff.
  5. Does anyone know what the approximate price point would be? I'm not looking for a discrete number, but ranges would be nice. Preferably not "Somewhere between free and expensive?" (I'm looking at you hubby...) I'd expect $40-$50 if it will be significantly larger than their previous version, without being nearly as large as the Malifaux bag is. Our juryrigged 3" pluck foam solution for the other Malifaux figs juuuuuuust may drown all those adorable puppets in foam, and I wouldn't want that.
  6. You could make a stuffing "fog" and velcro traps (because if I were a puppet I wouldn't want to be anywhere near velcro)...
  7. It occurs to me that we could use this same argument against a puppet Voodoo Doll... but the idea of a little puppet voodoo doll with his little swashbuckling pin sword gives me happy smiley thoughts.
  8. Drastically less complicated and faster ... alas I have to convince semanticdm to not have an excuse to make things on his router table. Boys and their toys *grin*
  9. nilus, you probably would have won earlier if I didn't keep making it impossible for you to activate anyone *wicked grin* Marcus with the self-mutilating +2 enemy activation bonus for the ... dying horribly? <- Wantses Puppet Wars pronto. Thanks for the game (and the double take from the front page of seeing my husband posting in "My first 3 way"...)
  10. Order 10388 has been shipped, now just have to look forward to the mail and hopefully our FLGS getting Puppet Wars/Book 3 in before Labor Day weekend (hopeful but generally thinking it probably won't happen)!
  11. Getting closer and closer to 10388! Now if I can just keep semanticdm from opening the box when he gets home... Unless he wants me to send back the Christmas presents I stuffed inside!
  12. Ours get into trouble on the way out to the car. We've learned the hard way to put a cover on the box of freshly painted minis we're carrying out - it may not make everything safer... but 100% easier to keep out the dirt and dust. >_< Good luck on the puppet surgery!
  13. Is Candy not represented? I love the baby LaCroix, was wondering what age they'd portray Candy. *impatiently waits for her copy of Puppet Wars / Book 3 to get to her FLGS*
  14. All signs point to ... maybe? Tom and I will try to get out there.
  15. Hmm. Extra time with the nieces/parents that I haven't seen in 4 months... or Malifaux... I'll get back to you on time, but probably around 10:30 no later than 12. Even with all his traveling it wasn't too hard to convince Tom to go out there, and the drive is as long coming directly from my parents as it is stopping off at the store. We may leave around 4 or 5 though to make sure that neither of us turns into a pumpkin!
  16. We'll (semanticdm and I) be there in spirit! Too bad you guys aren't hosting this the next weekend, we may have been able to attend. Could we convince someone to have their stuff and come Sunday the 28th so we could visit on our way home?
  17. I thought I was the only one with a headless vulture! We just painted ours to look like the vulture's head was cut off.
  18. Agreed! Though now I wish I didn't have a painting seminar at 7:30. I will be back to cheer on SemanticDM/Mechelley+ at the Cake tournament, of course.
  19. We had an epic day creating buildings for the tournament on Friday, looking forward to everything finally coming together! And I'll make sure to bug the Mr. to put the next few sets of rules up.
  20. Aliase, FYI at least four of the more experienced players will be out of town for the holiday weekend (myself, semanticdm, meechelley, and wedget88). There will at least be a few players that have been showed demos at least, read through the book and played a game or two at most, but if you would like a more detailed walkthrough I would recommend coming Friday night. ~ Powersoxette P.S. The store should be open from 12 to 5+ depending on our owner actually needing to see his kids (just saw that your request wanted to know times). At least one Malifaux player should be there ~ 12.
  21. After just seeing that GeekNationTours is setting up to go to Adepticon next year... this just might get us to sign up! (I am of course speaking as a gamers' wife who was looking forward to the miniatures cruise... but this way I can save up to get more Malifaux figs/terrain)
  22. Details on the second and third rounds are forthcoming, just need to hash out a few more details with semanticdm and meechelley Ready to have a Wyrd Halloween... I just need to decide if Marcus is up for the challenge.
  23. Having not played in a "tournament-legal" game yet, I don't feel comfortable commenting on game time or SS limits. However, I do have some questions that I (as a newbie player) would probably end up asking were I playing. 1. Rules on proxying - Are players allowed to proxy if they do not currently have the models they want to play (possibly helpful to newbies that might not have all their models assembled) or if they are only available in the 2nd book? And in that case, what is stopping someone from proxying Kirai's army in its entirety? 2. Terrain - Placement dictated by players or set up previously by tourney organizers? On the whole, I like the set up and the fixed shared strategies as well as the rule that a strategy can only be used once. Good luck!
  24. Thanks for the greetings!

  25. Hi all, I've been a (semi) quiet watcher for all of my hubby's wargaming hobbies, though I did get into Flames of War for a time. Then ... our FLGS got Malifaux in a few weeks ago and things kind of exploded from there. Grabbed semanticdm, hooked up meechelley with some figs and paints, have gotten half dozen or so more people to join up, and we've been running some demos to drum up more interest. Currently running Marcus (set is about 1/3 painted), anxiously awaiting future beasts in the new book. And trying to figure out how to paint the Cerberus to have three chinese dragon faces.
