With the stitched would it make it less overpowered if Gamble your life was a zero action ?

Its the same with any Miniature game if you what to be really competitive you need to know all the rules for all the models. With Malifaux you need 1-2 books. You dont really need book 1 most models have PDF cards you can download. I dont have Book 1 anymore and I dont really miss it. In Warmachine if you want to be competitive you need the rule book (maybe hordes rulebook as well), your forces book and then all the other forces books including hordes if you want to know all the rules. With 40k it gets worse as there are even more forces books to buy. The most competivie 40k /WFB players I know buy every codex and army book as they come out, that can easily be around £100 a year. Malifaux actually has it pretty light compared to the other games I have played.

As this is about the Exorcist can anyone post some of his ablities that make him anti-resser. I am a bit worried as he is walk 3 which means in a game the maxium he can move on his own is 36" but does he have some powers to move more? what is the range on his crossbow ? I also heard there are some anti nightmare models in book 3 can anybody shed some light on that.

Used him a few times and not a fan. Like others I loved the model and fluff. But I find him useless. Far to slow and df 3 with 6 wounds means he will die to most hits. Yes he has red tape but all the enemy has to do is used paired weapons or a focus strike and he is dead. His spells are good but with needing 7+ to cast them all, you are going to have to cheat to get most off. Tried him in a Lucius crew but lucius needs all those high cards for issue command. He a non-lucius crew I find him far to slow. With a 3" walk in a game he can only travel 36" a game if I use all AP for walk which you arnt going to do. 7ss is far too much for him, if he was 5ss or 6ss I may take him. Real shame as he was my favourite Guild minion in book 2 in terms of fluff.

Sounds great, for reference how many pages was Rising Powers ? I take it because there arnt many new minions or rules that that is nearly 275 pages of pure fluff goodness ? Hope Von Schill and Collodi turn up

This whole talk of dolls has got me thinking. Anybody with Book 3 know if any of the new dolls are any good with Zoraida ?

You do have to watch out with Stitched when playing against Zorida as she can obey them and do gamble your life. If she wins she damages one of your models if she loses she damages one of your models

I would not call Collodi that overpowered. I only got a draw using him against you Calmdown. Cunningstunt beat me pretty badly using Lilth. Although I did get a turn 2 win against him when he used Hoffman. He is good but I would not call him overpowered or a autopilot model. Maybe your hatred is more on Stitched than Collodi .

I would love to be able to buy more of the small dolls Zorida comes with but those are the only bits I can think of .

Thanks for that magic pockets, was about to ask for UK players to post how long it took to get to them once the order was posted. Would also be interested to hear if it gets picked up at customs.

Just want to say that is not true. The TO of the London tourny this summer did not give permission or know that his tourny was being put up on Ranking HQ

fair enough, not going to change want I bring. Why did I have it in my head that ranking tournaments had to be all painted.

To my knowledge Northampton is not a ranked tournament but I could be wrong.

Well I have had a look at train tickets and it seems very reasonable. So count me in, will get the money to you Clousseau either today or tomorrow. Now to just decide who to bring either Von Schill or Collodi

I had a bunch of W40k models when I was a kid,which where really badly painted and my friends did not understand the rules so we made up our own. I stopped playing when I was 12 as I moved to a new school and nobody played, also at that time other things took over. When I was in uni I started to get back into 40k as I found out a few friends back home played. I spent a year getting a 1500-2000 pt CSM army made and started a Ork one. I loved painting them and modeling them and coming up with new list ideas and themes. It was two years after I start my CSM that I finally got a game in. I played a few games of 40k and found the rules a bit simple for me, also the amount of money and time I had to put in just to change my list up was annoying. I loved the models and fluff but the gameplay just seemed really lacking. I then played my first game of Malifaux and was hooked, it had everything for me fluff, great models, deep gameplay and I was able to change my list with out to much effort . I have not played 40k since and have infact sold all my models. Over the last few months I have been looking for a second game but just cant find one I enjoy as much as Malifaux. I gave WM/H ago and painted up a small battlebox of cryx but while the gameplay seemed solid I did not like the cartoony style of the models, most have fists the size of their heads or the crazy large shoulder pads. Gave infinity a go and Iam in the process of painting up a Military Order starter set. I like the gameplay and models so I may have infinity as my second game. But my main reason for sticking to one game system is just time. I can only play 1 game a week and each week I just want to play malifaux. Looking at the challege threads for my club the last few months it really seems GW games are losing ground. Most game nights we have 3-4 Malifaux games then the rest are WM/H or infinity. We have maybe one GW game on a night.

Yes they have said the next book will flesh out the special forces. I am guessing another henchmen or two for each faction and then a large number of minions as most of the special forces are abit bare. Dont think there will be any more masters. We may also see the rules for upgrading minions to henchmen.

Just signed up to find out I am already on the list. Seemed a tourny I played in was ranked. Was a bit freaked out when I signed up and it already seem to know who I was and that I played Malifaux. While I was against the rankings at first I have decided to see how they go. So it seems I have ranked 93 in UK, think I need to improve that Edit: Just saw that my ranking is out of 111 players. 93/111 going to really have to improve , teach me to decide that a tournament would be the prefect place to try out a new master lol.

Also I dont think UPS shipping times take into account customs. If your order is picked up by customs expect another week's delay ( plus having to pay import tax) if my problems with them are anything to go by.

I have the tournament itch and pretty certain I can make this. Being just over an hour away from London is a plus. Will have to check dates but it being on a Sunday means I am pretty sure I can make this. Will be confirming in a few days.

I would advise people in the Uk to be patient. Last year most people got there stuff about a month or so after Gen Con. I think last year it turned out to be quicker to wait for the stuff to be released in your local then get it from Gen Con. Which is the reason I only ordered stuff that was coming out next year. If you ordered anything coming out in September it would have been quicker and cheaper to wait for it to come out in the local gaming shops. This year they have had a massive amount of orders it seems compared to last year, so just be patient they will send you your stuff. Just if you live in the UK dont expected it till late September or early October if last year is anything to go by.

Just noticed when you use Collodi as your master it only adds on 5 extra SS but his Henchmen number is 7 so it should add 7 extra SS.
