  1. Thanks guys, appreciated! Since I've been a good boy, I have it on good authority (my own) that Santa is bringing me a copy of the Rules Handbook and the Levi Boxed set. Looking forward to theorycrafting!
  2. Hi folks, I was a massive player of Malifaux back in 1st edition, and was a huge fan of Hoffman and Lucious, with the depth and complexity of tactical options available to them. It's been a long time, but I'm really keen on jumping back on the wagon - but it looks like I've missed a hell of a lot! I purchased the M2E rulebook a few years back (which I'm having a nightmare trying to find) - but looks like there has been at least 1 expansion since then... Assuming I have to start from almost-scratch, I'm looking at picking up the Rules Only handbook and the Leveticus set - I have Malifaux playing cards so I'm set there, but I've noticed there has been 1 or 2 expansions - do these just add lore and introduce new minatures, or do they contain essential rules which I need if I was to go to a gaming club? Also is the standard game still 35 Soulstones? Many thanks for any help on this!
  3. I'll through my hat in and say Guild Guard. While stat-for-stat they may not stack up against Witchling Stalkers or Death Marshalls, their main strength is that they offer the most potential for fantastic synergy, with Guild Sgt, Lucious, and at a push the Captain.
  4. Meh, I think I'll just hold off for now with any proxies - I've still got plenty of painting to do without even getting Hoffman involved!
  5. Wow, what a game! I was thinking the Guild player had it in the bag... quite the surprise! Also great photos, I didn't even know some of thoes Neverborn models had been released...
  6. Folks, sorry if this has already been asked - I didn't have anything show up on my search... Reading the bit for 'Mental Anguish' trigger, it states that if the target looses the WP duel, it falls back. My question is this - does this mean that the target would be killed by the governors Proxy for loosing a morale duel? I see the fors and againsts as this: FOR You only normally fall back as the result of loosing a morale duel AGAINST It was a WP duel the target lost against There is no mention in the trigger in treating the duel as a Morale duel Any help would be very appreciated! Mike T. Merciless
  7. Cheers for the correction! I missed that when first looked at the entry - at least it means they're just as valid with Lucious, and you're right - this becomes pretty awesome with the Sgt...
  8. Mmm this has me confused... if the Paralyse is a :rams trigger, and 'Machine Puppet' has Hoffman making the Warden strike with a CB6:rams, doesn't this mean that the Ram with this action satisfy the trigger requirements?
  9. Fantastic report, thanks! One question - why did you bash Santiago with your shield in the first turn?
  10. Folks, Does anyone else druel at the thought of a Hoffman & Lucious double-act once the Wardens are released? 1) To take on any tough nasties - with Lucious' Sgt totem, we've got Hoffman puppet mastering positive flip Wardens with auto Paralyze 2) To thin any heards - with Hoffman's 'Maintain machines', we've got Lucious poking Ryle to fire off either 3 7 CB Gatling shots, or (tata Sgt) up to 6 CB5 - before or after Ryle activates Low model count, but meh - you could always look to Avatar Hoffman, since late game you may find they've been the troops have been the target of your opponent's affection? What are everyone's thoughts on this? Dream team or dysfunctional duo?
  11. I'm sure this has been sorted, but I can't for the life of me find where! Now I know that Austringers and the Guild Guard are 'Guardsmen'... but my rulebook doesn't show them with that characteristic, and I can't see any Guild Guard on the V2 list. Can someone point out where they've been updated with the Guardsman characteristic?
  12. Hello Folks, Can someone confirm my understanding here - reading the rules for the Student of Conflict, when he performs 'Assist', the target gets Fast(1) until the start closing phase... ...so this means if I was to cast it on Lucious, he'd be able to cast 'Issue Command' 4 times (2 normal, +1 for Casting Expert, +1 for Fast); use 'Ruthless Leadership' for a re-activation; and since he still has Fast(1), can perform another 4 'Issue Command's? I can't see any reason why not... but if that's the case, then 8 non-obeying strikes seems absolutly amazing...
  13. Cheers, crap - see this has been answered already; should remember the search button
  14. Folks, Just a quick one; does anyone know if there are any plans for the Guild Guard model in the Lucious box set to be sold seperately?
