  1. Avatar Som'er's version of pull my finger. it does wds instead of dg and and ASom'er has a trigger to summon a piglet when he casts it.
  2. Dues has it. It stops them from casting until the end closing phase. however, as of right now I don't believe there is any model that can cast out of activation so it is a moot point. I also want to mention that it stops all models from casting, not just those of Ca6 or higher. The weapon just gives a to hit vs high cast models
  3. Perdita. There is no other choice really for assymetrical and competitive Athough be careful because master v master, perdita will shred pandora. she ignores the WP duel to target pandora and she is immune to influence so Pandora has to get close to her for "box opens". all in all though it is a good matchup which will highlight two different crews.

We will be happy to see some new faces at Game Theory (I'm guessing that's the store you are referencing)there are about 6 of us I would call regulars, and anywhere up to about 15 that have been around at one time or another. Right now, there is a Blood bowl league going on so many of the regulars (myself included) may not be around on all thursdays. If you want to be sure of opponents, PM me and I will make sure I'm there at least. ---------- Post added at 09:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:09 PM ---------- Perdita is a good starter set, and along those same lines, so is Ophelia. I would also recommend Seamus, Sonnia, Lady justice, and Pandora as decent starter boxes. Most masters aren't too bad but these will be the best to play without any additions to their boxes. The Victorias is OK but the individual models are pricey(SS wise)and beginners may find themselves overrun with them. The rest of the Masters really need some additions to their crews to make them viable (summoner masters especially Som'er, Ramos, all the other ressers, Hamelin) The only box I would say don't touch at all is McMourning's (because no one in their right mind is going to use 2 nurses) Pretty much every master is represented here in one way or another. If you want to see any of them in action, let me know and I'm sure we could get something set up. Maybe I could do a day long demo day at Game Theory.
  5. Bumping this to remind everyone that the tourney is coming up this weekend. Right now, I anticipate around 10 or 12 players. Most of those are local players, although I have heard from a few maybes from others that would be traveling.
  6. Just a quick question to everyone. how do you normally travel with minis on a plane? Do you carry on? and as an added note to that, do you have many issues with TSA carrying a bag full of tiny pointy things?

  9. Shouldn't need a marshal. It's right in the rulebook. Anything with a rst is an attack. A model cannot attack itself. So, no you cannot.

Each round will also have a surprise. No schemes will be disallowed. However, schemes will be unique for the tournament so may only be chosen once by each player. The tournament will use the accumulation format from the gaining grounds rules document. Rounds will be 90 min. in length, with a 1 hr. lunch break after round 2. All participants are also asked to bring a separate 30mm based model. This model should be easily identifiable and is not included in your 50 SS pool.   12. Thanks keltheos. funny thing is, I found a thread from last July and it had the same ruling in it from a RM. What was funny about it was that it was started by Csonti.   13. It has been ruled on before by a RM. I'm being lazy and I don't feel like searching for it, but Magicpockets is correct (as is usually the case.) If no one else bothers to search, or a RM hasn't chimed in, I may feel more charitable after some coffee.

  15. A couple of things I noticed about your post. Not sure what you mean here. Paired has nothing to do with damage, only attacking. If you mean that it is easier to get to a then OK, I was just trying to make sure the new guy isn't confused. This however is wrong. It has been ruled previously (long ago) that you don't have to count cards (or even try to remember) if the black joker has been used. you can always dumb luck. This prevents arguments along the lines of: opponent:"I saw your black joker, you can't do that." gremlin player: "I don't remember the black joker" opponent: "well, I do" gremlin player: "fine you win, your important model doesn't die" *searches deck at end of turn and finds black joker* or even better "please stop trying to cheat me" *as he looks at the black joker sitting in his hand* Other than that, everything in your post was great. I will give my opinion on the slop hauler though. I don't find them that useful at all. They are too slow to be of great use. I play my gremlins "balls to the wall" as it were. I think of every model as disposable. If someone is about to die, they try to take soem enemies with them, not waste time running to get healed. That is a matter of personal preference though, some swear by the haulers. I find myself more often than not, taking 2 gremlins with ophelia instead. I'd rather be using ooh a girl on my killy stuff (like pere) you don't have to go from your deplyment zone with pere. just move him on his own for the first turn (or 2) and then pull him forward to walk once (reckless) and cast his pulse twice.
  16. I believe BigKid meant you can't take stuffed piglets without a taxidermist. I'm pretty sure it says so on the stuffed piglet card
  17. I can't believe that no one has placed the Avatar of Indulgence in the top listing yet. He is an absolute beast with a potential 10 attacks (not that you'll ever use that many) a paralyzing attack, the ability to heal for a 0,gain flight and reactivate (with the addition of a whisperer), and he buffs the WP of his gremlins. The only thing I dislike is the loss of "get yer bro", but I can live with it.
  18. Yes that is completely different. I don't play Kirai so I didn't know the working of the rule. Since it says to change the target then the original would have to hit a seishin. However, as far as the damage goes, if all the models would die from the attack/blasts, then you can't move the damage to a seishin. I don't remember where the thread is so hopefully a RM will let you know again.
  19. It has been ruled previously, I don't have time to hunt for it right now, that all the damage is simultaneous. Therefore, if the main shot would kill kirai, and the blasts would kill off all of the seishin, then they all die. Basically, you can't push damage onto a dead model and they all take damge and die at the same time.
  20. It is written this way so the seishin has to be in BtB contact with the model (not within 6") and isn't slow when it comes in to play. It is indeed a new seishin. Be aware though, if there is no place to put the new seishin (because of your own or enemy bases) then it doesn't come into being.
  21. I played a game last week that we flipped the random event (I can't remember the name) which changes all 13's into 1's and vice versa. It was awesome and my opponent and I both wound up doing spectacular things, and failing miserably, because of it. We have already decided that our next tournament will have that special event in one round.
  22. I believe he was referring to placing ice pillars on objectives so you have to break them before you can interact with the objective.
  23. Oh, it is perfectly legal. It is a totally dick move but legal. And, worse than that, it is totally unecessary. A gremlin crew should have plenty of activations to "waste". This move basically turns the game into a move your entire crew, then I move mine. That in itself is not how the game was designed. And to make it clear, I have no problem with the ice pillars move.
  24. It's also a nice way to make sure no one wants to play you anymore.
