  1. Yes! I love cosplaying! I have actually been contemplatng whom I may consider doing, but there is no telling how far down the list it would end up being if I did decide upon one to assemble. McMourning might be fun...
  2. I had posted this up before as an update to another thread of mine, but didn't get any feedback, so I figured I'd post him up in a thread of his own. The pictures are all hyperlinked to a larger version, if you want a clearer view of things, save for the first. To start, the unpainted progressional images. This teddy is made from polymer clay that I had molded, baked, and suspended from his base. His teeth, if you are curious, are cut sewing pins. From there, we move onto the painted bits! Front: Back: Above: And here he is, all done! (My apologies for the facial glare.) So please, any comments would be much appreciated! Thanks, all! +Supplies: Small Brush, probably size 1 or 2. (A toothpick for even finer detail.) Acrylic paints- Carmine, Ultramarine, Primary Yellow, Titanium White, Ivory Black, Pthelo Blue. (I mix all of my colors.) Sealant- Elmer's White Glue. (This is an experimental alternative to using primer. We'll see how this goes. So far it is holding up.)
  3. To determine what is best for you, I would have to ask two things: Firstly, what is your ideal playstyle? -Do you prefer to be right in your enemies' faces with a single melee beatstick? Or perhaps you'd like a quick swarm to overwhelm your enemies? Or maybe you'd like better to avoid combat totally and manipulate your enemies, crippling them with gradual damage or just hindering them from succeding on their objectives outright. Does the story behind your models influence your preference for them? If so, what is the image that you want your team to portray? -Do you feel yourself inclined towards playing the cruel dictator or the harsh, but honest keepers-of-the-law, or the misunderstood antagonist? Maybe rebels are more your speed, working againt the oppressor, or perhaps the wanderers who avoid the touch of the law. Or perhaps even the secret society or mischievous individuals that operate in society under the noses of the those that keep the law.
  4. This is looking like something that one would simultaneously love and dread to hug. He looks so soft. ...but kill-y...
  5. -sigh- I remember that movie- Evil Dead, right? Just wow. o_o
  6. You are saying "electrical creation". What I see, however, is an giant bob-omb. Impressed? I think I am. Steampunk brassy bits on a bob-omb look amazing!
  7. As I said, Here's the update with Teddy on his completed base. Everything is logged in the first post, too.
  8. I would say to wait and watch for more information on the Show Girls. You'd likely be able to use your model as an alternative there.
  9. I really like the idea of the trinkets. I think that would add a little more fun to your teddy. Something ratty and unkempt to match your rickety shelving like worn books and bronken dolls. Maybe even a twisted up slinkie.
  10. I've not yet used any sort of primer for my minis. (Rather, I had decided to seal the paint with some white glue, sort of like how laquer is used. We'll see if that lasts.) I have used gesso as a primer on canvas, though. On canvas, gesso is wonderful, though I don't know how well it will hold to the pewter. From my inexperienced standpoint, I'd say to experiment until you find something tht works well, and anything that doesn't, it can be repainted.
  11. Many kudos to your daughter! That must be so very exciting for her! Best of luck with her minis!
  12. Updated with Teddy again! He's all done and painted now. Now I'm just waiting for his base to dry. I'll update with a picture of that, too, once it is. Thanks all!
  13. I don't believe that you've ever captured a koala capriciously! >o

  14. Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about this model for Pandora. How are you planning on painting her? Will you be making any modifications to the model? Pandora is neither fast (probably by her own choice) nor offensive, which your alternative seems to be. I think that puts me off from it being a suited alternative... (this model looks more along the lines of something for Miss Colette du Bois.)
  15. This is so dreadfully delightful and peppy! Thaehl was telling me of your work, and I had expected something that was aesthetically off-putting, but you managed to use your pink in such a strong manner, with powerful accenting colors. This is wonderful!
  16. Updated with Teddy in the first post. Progress: Sculpted and Baked.
  17. Thank you all for the advise, it is appreciated. I may look into touching them up per these suggestions. Maybe...
  18. So, I started playing Malifaux not too long ago per the influences of another user here, thaehl. Pandora is my first master. For her crew, I've also picked up a Poltergeist. Here they are if you want to have a look. I'm thinking of making a custom Teddy for the team, too, so I'll have to put that up when I'm done. --EDIT-- August 8th- A polymer Teddy has been made, along with a 50mm base. So far, he has been sculpted, baked, and attached to his base. He shall be painted soon. For the curious few, his teeth are the ends of sewing pins baked into the clay. August 9th- So as of now, my Teddy is all done! He is all painted and ready for play. The only thing that needs to be done is for the glue on his base (my alternative to "Water Effects") to dry. Here are the pictures: Front Back Above I used more washes here per your guys' advices, and I am quite pleased with the result! Thank you all! August 10th- So Teddy is all done now, including his base. The glue finished drying around 10 o'clock last night.
  19. A lot of Pandora's crew members' effects deal with having woes in base contact, chiefly Pandora, Candy, and Baby Kade's "martyr" ability.
