  1. I think Lucius' transforming wasn't an avatar-related one but simply his reverting to whatever form he keeps hidden under the mask. My guess is (margin of error +- 100%) that whatever Tyrant entity has ahold of the governor (or vise-versa) has summoned up minions in the form of Lucius and his lawyers. Only time (and maybe nerdelemental) will tell.
  2. Gonna echo the "just about everything" sentiment. Just make sure it's coherent. Zoraida offers some decent tactical flexibility. With book 2 and 3 range is easier to come by. Now we have Tuco, who even adds some and Zoraida could make some serious use out of the Arcane Effigy as well. I plan on picking up all the effigies for my collodi and zoraida lists but so far I see the mysterious and arcane effigies being the most useful. Need to look at the others more carefully though. Bad Juju has some great synergy with Z and serves as a beat-stick.
  3. Tuco is a nephilim. They are Special Forces: Dolls. If a non-neverborn master takes them (there is one in each faction) they (the master) gains the Aetheric Connection ability which does some stuff I don't really remember right now. Otherwise they opperate just like all other Special Forces. *edit* Also the Effigies are amalgamations (visually) of all the different masters in the faction and are themed off of that. For instance the Arcanist one has lots of magicky ranged stuff and it's gun is CA -> CA instead of CB -> DF.
  4. Tuco ain't no joke. Can't wait for the model. Also, big news for Collodi players, he gets 5 new Special Forces Dolls. One from each faction.
  5. I'm waaay to tired to remember her requirements exactly so I won't post in case I'm just plain wrong. Turn 2 is the soonest you can bring an Avatar out. And when you do bring out your Avatar it counts as summoned HOWEVER they don't get slow. The avatar gets any leftover General AP and can use any of it's free action abilities, for instance Avatar Zoraida has Casting Expert so she can avatar up and pins and needles twice. One rule I'm not 100% about is whether or not a master using something like Fast (lilith) then going Avatar, if her Avatar can still use Fast. Pretty sure the answer is no. The Avatars work very similar to how Chompy and the Dreamer work, except it's a one way street. Once the Avatar is out, it's out for good.
  6. JuJu is even mo' bettah with Avatar Zoraida, who is pretty darn scary.
  7. I'll be there. Don't know how much time I'll have for Malifaux, but I've signed up for one of the Avatar demos, which I can't wait for. Also, is anyone going to the Muse concert on Wednesday? I'm trying to get some transportation arranged.
  8. One of my favorite 35SS lists is: Lilith Cherub - 2 Terror Tot x1 - 3 Young x 3 - 18 Mature x 1 - 10 Which leaves you with 2 extra SS. Diving attack and transposition is such a strong combo. I like having the extra SS in my pool. Personally, I end up with bad hands more often than not and can always use those extra cheats. The most important thing to consider is what schemes are you going to choose. That could influence your list choice as well. Tots are not insignificant so they can claim objectives/area, so if you want to run some schemes like breakthrough or stake a claim you might want 3x tots for sprinting. In this list I use my tot for stake a claim a lot. Very handy.
  9. *looks over shoulder for sneaky girlfriend* I could watch Zatanna's legs all day. Etrigan on the other hand? I'm not sure if I could stand a full feature length film of his rhyming shenanigans. There was a really great Batman/Etrigan cross over where some very nasty demons get awoken underneath Arkham asylum and Etrigan is in it, but not enough to make him that annoying (he's mostly in human form). I'm gonna watch Thor and Cpt America, but I'm not going to expect either of them to be very good. Especially Thor. That way, if they manage to be even mediocre I'll be impressed.
  10. Superb conversion. And hey, he's a Dark Angel, they spend lots of time brooding and being secretive. That really does leave little time for wargear maintenance.
  11. +1. Getting rid of those damned Ice Gamin/Hoarcats/Gremlins is a great use for Abduction.
  12. Yeah Black Joker aside, it's pretty easy to manage and predict when All Done is the right thing to do. If it's Chompy's last attack for instance, it's probably not going to matter whether you killed whatever you were attacking or not, you still want him out of there.
  13. I pretty much agree on every count with Dolomyte. I would say that the Viktorias can actually give a couple of our masters a run for their money. They have some yoyo tricks that can actually upset our own movement shenanigans. Ronin can be difficult to kill in one activation and Freikorp are absolutely a pain in the butt against a Dreamer crew. Any Outcast player not running at least one or two Freikorp against Neverborn better have a good reason (Levi of course has a built-in reason). And speaking of Freikorp, it appears Von Schil is missing from the list. I think Lilith is the best bet against the Freikorp. WP duels just won't cut it so that hurts everyone but hurts Lilith the least. I think LCB would do alright if you stayed away from things like Stiched, Insidious Madness, and Alps.
  14. It's really easy to take control of the activation sequence with collodi having so many little buggers about. And hopefully he'll get a heavy hitting 40/50mm base doll in book 3. He has so much potential, but so little resources right now. I really like the combo of Doll Parts, Breath Life, and Doll Friends. Requires a scrap counter, but can really hurt something close. Especially if you have a wicked doll you can summon the Marionette into base contact with. Collodi is my favorite Henchman thus far (Kaeris is a close second). His theme song should definitely be Dope Hat by Marilyn Manson.
  15. Her hat was a little too small and for some reason she wouldn't smile for the picture. Otherwise I think she did a good job. She made the hat and tailored a princess Leia robe to fit the part. I went as a Death Marshall but the coffin I built was too big to fit in my car to trasnport it to the party. Oops.
  16. The GF is going as Rasputina. I was thinking Death Marshall, but I think I should do an Arcanist.
  17. That's a great stand-in. Mind giving us a breakdown on the parts?
  18. Very awesome! Welcome to the boards. That desolation engine gives me an idea for some of my AT-43 Therians that I have no use for. Excellent work.
  19. Well, I think it breaks down as simple as this: LCB strengths: clumped together, low WP, low model count LCB Weaknesses: spread out, high WP/immune to morale, Ranged attacks, high mobility, expendable crew members Obviously, how this affects individual crews will vary. But it's definitely a good starting point.
  20. Yep, you're right. Keep forgetting that. They should errata that too!
  21. *Edit* Never mind, gotta make the Rider a Nephilim first. Noon is still cool, and if you're dealing 4/5/6 most things aren't going to want to hit you back and take 2 dg. Let's also not forget the potency of Noon while using Nekima. With Nekima the Hooded Rider's damage becomes 5/6/7 base, with the possibility of another mask on the flip for 6/7/8. Also a 21 SS combo, but still worth it in a larger game when you have Nekima anyhow. The problem is, you really do want to be in Night as long as possible, but unlike the other two riders, you can't go backwards with passage of time. Which I think they should errata, but that's just me.
  22. Chompy is now Armed and Dangerous. I've updated the original post with more pics.
  23. I actually don't like the Hooded rider as much in my typical Lilith crew because you can't Transposition him. He would work as a Mature Neph replacement, but Knock Aside and Diving Attack are very awesome and hard to give up. And as our resident Resurrectionist player is fond of doing with the Dead Rider, he's not bad to use for Strategy/Schemes that involve capturing markers or getting into an oponents half or deployment zone. Night is definitely the best way to start him out though, unless you know you can get close enough on T1 with a charge.
  24. I agree strongly with this. It's much easier to summon a Lelu compared to the tot grow. And, the Lelu is a serious melee heavyweight, in some ways superior to the Mature or Young Nephilim. You lose the diving attack, but you gain some very interesting skills and the ability to heal/regen like nobodies business.
