  1. Thanks for the correction, zFiend. I don't have my cards to hand but I was thinking of the (0) interact action that piglets are allowed via Corn Husks. I understand the issue a bit better. All the same, I very much agree with Math, here. The problem is, you'll get people logging in to describe negative experiences but rarely to say they had a fair game. Most masters I've played against could seem OP the first time you play them.
  2. Do enemy scheme markers count as enemy "models" for the sake of Interact actions? If the Piglet charged your model, they're engaged. Therefore they're actually preventing themselves from removing markers if they don't count. Also, in this game your silurids could have leaped out of engagement, placed a marker and walked back in to keep the enemy pinned. If I'm correct, I think it would have been a vastly different game for you. It also sounds like terrain was a major problem if there wasn't terrain to block Corn Husks LoS and things were able to be so easily charged.
  3. Well, pig and gremlin summoning is quite an expensive combo, (2 of Do It Like Dis (-2 for Skeeter), four summoning duels). What I totally didn't get before is that Skeeters take Somer's (0) as a (1) meaning that with two Skeeters, you get at least a couple of chances. That's neat and makes it seem much more achievable. I think I've under-appreciated Skeeters almost completely (especially just for engaging other models and stopping models from using triggers). I have much to learn and I'll definitely be giving the Pig-a-pult another go, now better-informed. Thanks to you both.
  4. Sure, I mean lucky in the sense that you probably aren't going to go out of your way to pull it off. Considering how potentially destructive his shooting is with Dumb Luck, I can't really think of a scenario in which he'd be running about sacrificing his own Gremlins for Piglets en masse. Perhaps I just haven't played the right schemes?
  5. Forced myself to try out the Pigapult tonight. I loved Bacon Barrage and Launch'n's actually great. I realised a couple of (obvious) points for the game. Generating two piglets rather than just one via Lenny would have been more effective than one piglet + one toss. Secondly, I should have launched the Summoned Gremlins... Only problem is Do It Like Dis means choosing between Tomes and Masks. It's quite an resource intensive first turn, regardless.

His bacon bomb's a pulse meaning that the effect radiates outward and doesn't affect the piggy itself. That said, if the pulse kills a model with Explosive Demise... can the Stuffed Piglet die before it's sacrificed?
  7. The Hog Whisperer also comes with one. Assuming you pick him for Pork Whisperin', that's four piglets. Until the Sow comes out, that's probably enough unless you get very lucky with Somer. I personally bought two boxes but I probably won't use them until Ulix and The Sow have models.
  8. I can identify with this post. As you point out, you can't just blame bad flips. Taking notes would probably help me quite a bit. It can be hard to remember weeks later what worked (or didn't) about a particular crew against another particular crew.
  9. I take it you're not a fan of the Pig-a-pult. You're right that it'll only get (up to) 3 turns of shooting, but each piglet provides 3 shots if you use Reckless or you can Focus one of your shots to get a on both the duel and damage. So yes, you can't cheat for the blasts but you can certainly improve your odds. You can also do the Lenny trick to give it ammo via Whacked Piglet, but I'm not sure that's the best use of him. Apart from that, I'm really disappointed to see no love for Somer in this thread! I can't be the only person still using him? I'm worried he's become a jack of all trades and not much else now that there's more specialised Gremlin masters.
  10. So... where is the nearest LGS that stocks Malifaux to Belfast and do I need an airplane or airplane to get there?
  11. Actually, I was wondering recently about set 'er off - how does it interact with Corn Husks? Corn Husks allows a piglet to perform an interact action for a 0 action. So what if the Piglet would trigger Set Er Off but it has no AP left? I assume Set 'Er Off is only applied when the Piglet has AP to spend and therefore it can take the action.
  12. You're right, but there are effects that lower willpower/defense. Is that worth a soulstone for the upgrade and a soulstone per use? I doubt it. You've pointed out yourself that if you lose the duel anyway, you don't get the on any damage flip. As for Show Off, I think it's suitable for a list with more disposable units. If you're not taking Somer but your list includes several of the Kin, you mightn't have the points to spare. I can't imagine it's more useful than your typical upgrades unless the strategy/schemes provide a benefit to denying your own units. Pere Ravage mightn't be the best owner of Team Work, though, considering he has a large charge range. I can see the logic behind it, though. Replace something you don't want to be engaged with something that explodes when it dies.
  13. I'm still very much inexperienced but here's two lists that I've run: Somer Bayou Gremlins x3 Lenny Gracie Burt Slop Haulers x2 Summon more Bayou Gremlins for the schemes and smash through models with Lenny/Gracie. I'll probably replace Burt in the future unless I can figure out how to make him useful. Somer Bayou Gremlins x5 Lenny War Pig Slop Haulers x2 Skeeters x2 Really enjoyed this list and I'll have to try it again now that my Black Friday War Pig is here.
  14. Check out the "Expanding beyond the Bayou Boss set" and "(EXPANDING) - Ophelia LaCroix box set" threads which seem like just what you're looking for.
  15. Surely it doesn't need to be FAQ'd if there's no concept of a "jump" or arbitrary vertical movement in the rules?
  16. I haven't taken the Pigapult yet so I was wondering - how many piglets people are taking as part of their crew? Four soulstones seems pretty steep just to use a Piglet as ammo and "Concussion" from Stuffed Piglets sounds like quite a downer. Are people using Focus to offset it? As hilarious as generating piglets via Lenny sounds, his low Walk and the importance of Toss makes me wary of spending his AP generating them.
  17. Lovely model. I'd love a few of these, perhaps to use instead of the fishing line Gremlin. Mine will remain on his sprue for the time being. Again, thanks for the unboxing/unbagging. I always enjoy the comparison pictures.
  18. Adorable! Just put together a few of these myself. I couldn't imagine these growing into the old war pig but the new one's a good match.
  19. So we agree that it's a move that may not be directly towards as long as it leaves the model as close to Trixiebelle as possible? Now all that remains is explaining the Mask in her casting value for Buy You a Drink?"...
  20. Ah, so I wasn't the only one then. Unless I'm not remembering correctly, I think there may be a card in one of the Arsenal decks that has this particular pig on it. The models look lovely. I can't wait to figure out a Piggy list, perhaps even with Somer instead of Ulix.
  21. I'm very interested to know how the Killjoy performed. Was it worthwhile in a Gremlin crew?
  22. Wish I had these pictures a couple of weeks ago for reference... All the same, thanks for another high quality post, especially for the comparison pictures. I'm surprised just how much better the Silurids look. Do you pin your plastic models onto the metal bases? I'd be afraid of lifting the ones such as the leaping Silurid attached to a metal base.
  23. If the intention was to move it in a straight line, I don't understand why it wouldn't just say to "push" its charge distance, as with the non-Gremlin effect. Ausplosion's interpretation was my gut instinct due to the fact that it says the movement must end as close as possible to Trixiebelle. If it was just a straight line, that's already implicit as it doesn't say to move "up to" the charge distance. Still puzzled by that mask, too. I see she can benefit off the Lightning Bug's Leave it to Luck action, though
  24. I've been leafing my way through the Crossroads book and was wondering about these two aspects of Trixiebelle: 1. Gremlin "Lure" For Gremlin targets, it says they are moved rather than pushed. Does this mean that it does not have to be directly towards her nor must the movement be in a straight line? 2. Buy you a drink? What is the purpose of the mask in the Ca value of this action? The target value requires Crows and it has no triggers. Thanks in advance. Edit: Gave Trixiebelle's card another read and saw that Gremlin targets aren't pushed. I think I understand Gremlin "Lure" now but I've changed the question anyway.
  25. I'm just curious why you don't take Slop Haulers? Even with Somer and Family Tree? They seem invaluable for healing up after Reckless and keeping the bigger models hitting. Personally, that's the first thing I'd add to a new list but I am conscious of the fact that they're a fifth of my list each time.
