  1. I was referring to the main painting competiton. I found the rules packet online and it looks like the answer is yes. If anyone else is curious about the Wyrd Manufacturer Awards for the Gencon Painting contest here's a link. It just says they'll be giving awards it doesn't say what though. http://www.genconminipainting.com/files/Gen%20Con%20Painting%20Competition%202014.pdf
  2. Sorry if this has been answered already. There are a lot of pages to go through. Will there be a Wyrd Painting contest as part of the GenCon painting contest like last year? There's nothing about in the first post.

    Gen Con 2014

Will Wyrd be participating in the Gencon Painting contest again?
  4. Can't imagine a better way to go than Cordelia for Anima Tactics. https://cipher-studios.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_11&products_id=25&zenid=asjp2blge46jei74gmsf4e9kv1
  5. And I love him. Great lookin' paint. Nice to see what he looks like with a decent coat.
  6. Someone finally found something: http://www.imperiusdominatus.com/2014/05/malifaux-may-releases.html edit; Looks like it came from the news page. http://wyrd-games.net/community/page/articles.html/_/wyrd-news/may-releases-r21
  7. So'mer has been moved to May, Ophelia to "Summer." The Brewmaster is off the schedule completely and a lot of people are hoping that's an oversight. The release schedule is in the back of Wyrd Chronicles 11. Edit: checking again Ophelia isn't on the schedule either.
  8. I am sorry to hear that. Well thanks to Eric and Nathan for running it in the past! Hopefully you guys will decide its worth doing again.
  9. I'd love to have an answer too. I'm packing my P3 masters entries right now and its going to take some juggling to squeeze the Malifaux stuff in there too. Should I bother?
  10. Wow beaten to the punch on McVey's Ruby over a week before I even noticed this thread. Since no one's mentioned them yet, I have to put up something from Smart Max. Their whole range is so epic its hard to pick a favorite but... I guess I'll go with this guy: Also unmentioned so far is Eden by Taban miniatures. This guy is my favorite of theirs' but I think this guy is their most popular: Oh and it bears mentioning that I think the Kirai box and the Freikorps are definitely as amazing as anything else out there.
  11. With the field test announcement I found myself wondering if everyone had seen pics of these or not. Here's the one I took at GenCon last year. I think they look great.
  12. Umm I'm like 99% sure this was a bot post to get us to click on those sigged links. Its a little better than most bot posts because its actually relevant to our interests and not just about cheap viagra but still. I guess if everyone's enjoying discussing games there's no harm but I was surprised to see this one grow to six pages when I was expecting it to just get deleted.
  13. Thugs? Is that really necessary? Also, how is Hordes a thug but not Warmachine? Well at any rate that's good news for a good company. Still I would take that poll with a grain of salt. Most of the GW gamers I know don't go any where near TGN. But the Privateer players... they do.
  14. Not to mention how the Weta team blatantly ripped off the Archon's head for that lame Sauron guy. Seriously though, the new sculpts are pretty nice. I've been surprised how excited some people locally are that that the DE warriors look like eviller guardians. I would have preferred something more divergent. And while I really like the overall design of the Raider it bothers me how much flat surface area it has. For me the Wyches and the jetbikes are the best and also most improved. Oh, and this is probably extra nit pickey, but in a world of zenithal highlighting and other super advanced techniques, does it bother anyone else that for the super awesome paint jobs for their newest hottest range their painters just chose to line the plate ridges with 2 colors? Check out the ones on this page. There's absolutely no source lighting of any kind. I guess it works to show off the detail, which those kits definitely have in abundance. The wyches weird helmet is really cool though.
  15. The card for the steampunk abominations is 100% correct. I can see how a big unannounced change like this could be irritating but I don't really see how it hurts your pocket. Arachnid swarms are still an excellent choice for Leveticus since can let them auto paralyze anything they hit. When they die they drop scrap counters that can be turned into abominations. I guess If you still hate them you can try to get someone local to trade something for them with you.
  16. I would have to say yes, unless it kills them outright in which case they'd be dead before they could heal.
  17. I just have to make sure you understand that Necrotic unmaking can't be used on friendlies to make SPAs. Lots of people seem to be making that mistake lately. The only way to turn friendlies into SPAs is to put blessings of desolation on something and have it kill things in melee. So that's a lot of activations and control cards spent towards not achieving your schemes/strategies. You either have to have Leveticus do the melee-ing which means you'll almost have to burn control cards to kill the dogs (although you would get to use lousy ones for this with face of death). Or put blessings on something else and cheat for the crows (unless nix or hamelin have a built in crow). Also (something you may already be aware of) I think the new rule of equivalency would mean you can't get a rat and an SPA from the same kill. I have to admit I'm still curious to try the two in a brawl. You make some good points about how many great card shenanigans they'll have together. But I'm not quite as optimistic about their potential as you are.
  18. Also, here are links to my other crews: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12388&highlight=McMourning http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11127
  19. Thanks everyone! Yup. How close to Austin do you live? Do you ever stop by for Malifaux on Wednesday?
  20. Finally finished the start of my Leveticus crew. I've got some Arachnids and Belles I plan to paint and add later. First up the man himself: Then Alyce. She has some very tiny details on her face in particular and I never could get it quite as good as I would have liked. Now his two Waifs. I was pretty pleased how both of these came out. Now the Steampunk abominations. I painted six but didn't see the point in posting duplicates since they are so similar. These guys had really tiny details on their faces that were hard to paint too. And then the big guy. I'm pretty pleased with how he turned out. I'm going to give them a go tomorrow for the first time. Wish me luck! And can anyone link me to all his errata?
  21. I think he can be taken with The Dreamer too but that would be it. Outside Leveticus that is. Someone already posited that if you wanted to abuse the rules, you could try to take the dreamer in any army by hiring Minion Hamelin.
  22. Another blister of SPAs will probably end up getting used so I'll second that. I bought 3 blisters before his box was available. Another popular choice are the steampunk arachnid swarms who get auto paralyze with blessings of desolation. Really there are just tons of neat combos out there. Any undead or construct in the game that gets a nice trigger from a crow or already has one built in to its Cb is a potentially useful choice. But I think the most popular ones have all been listed now. That's probably why he's so fascinating to so many people. Check this thread to see other levy players debating their favorite choices if you haven't already: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=10131 One other thing: I can't find any errata about him in the book. Was it ever posted somewhere?
  23. Abominations are undead and constructs. Unless that was another thing that got changed on their cards.
  24. I checked last night and it turns out it does state specifically in Hamelin's Pariah rule that he can't take constructs. So... No spiders. No necropunks. No Gamin. Darkrulz has it, with the minor tweak that you can also take a stolen if you really want to. But Hamelin can summon one just by doing a 1 action and they're rare 1, so no particular reason to bother. So you're looking at a few key models plus a huge pack of dead dogs. Which granted could start turning into more useful stuff fairly quickly. It would definitely be a weird experiment to try out.
