  1. Unfortunately I am moving out of state in the next few weeks.
  2. Nicely executed scheme. Definately agree that Seamus looks creepier then usual. And love the title!
  3. second the looking good, just mad that I wont be able to play on them when they are done.
  4. I kinda agree with Chucklemonkey in that the board should include some random bits of discarded rusty machinery. Half submerged in the bayou land scape with vegetation growing around and thru it. Just think of the stero-typical backwoods trailer park jokes and that should give a great start. If this is for a Gremlin board then definately gotta include things like rusted windmill, water tower, still, and collapsing outhouse.
  5. How do you get a copy of the catalogue?
  6. Yes Drywall primer is usually a greyish white color, I imagine you could get it tinted.
  7. To each his own. This is one of those personal taste things like utilizing the "official" faction paint scheme instead of your own, black primer vice white, etc. Do what pleases you (unless you are painting commisions), no one else really matters. I generally paint my base edges, I like the way it looks. I have also used different base edge colors to assist in identifying different units (not so important in Malifaux where the model count is low). I will admit that it can distract from the model if the colors are oppositional, however it can also enhance if they are complimentary. Not all fine art is mounted on black pedestal bases or frames, most times the frame/base is selected to compliment the piece in the space that it is intended to be viewed. Base edge color preference has not always been black, when I first got into the hobby almost all the bases I saw (on painted miniatures anyway) had the GW goblin green base edge.
  8. Aside from all the other good tips for terrain building, I will add a few that have helped me. First, before priming the board scrap/scratch the top surface a bit so the primer has something to bit on to. Second, since you are more then likely going to want to texture the board why not do it in one step? Buy a gallon of Drywall Paint (sometimes called PVA paint), a bag of playground sand, and a half gallon bottle of Elmers non toxic wood glue. In a seperate container mix fairly equal parts of the paint, sand, and wood glue. Stir completely adding more paint/glue or sand to get a nice thick cream of wheat consistency. Paint on and let dry. Finally paint the board whatever color you want (you can use spray paint if you want as the top of the board is now sealed and wont melt). * if you are going for a desert like board then instead of painting you can use Minwax Polyshade. This will dramatically increase the durability of the board and give a very realistic effect as seen in the link Modular Desert Board Last tip, is be sure to cover the sides of the board with a healthy amount of Duct Tape. When you do this you want to make sure you continue the tape over the edge and around to the bottom. Good luck.
  9. Love the look of these Gremlins. They look very dirty. Good job. Only critic is that your light set up seems a bit to bright.
  10. This is now addressed in the FAQ: Warpig Pigcharge Q: If a model with the Pigcharge Action receives an effect that restricts its movement in some way (i.e. Undead Psychosis) what requirements must it follow? Pigcharge’s or the other effect’s? A: The other effect’s. The specific limitation of Undead Psychosis overrides the general rule governing Pigcharge’smovement.
  11. I think they are very nice, though I am on this make your own base kick so I wont be buying any until I get some new Gremlins (perhaps from a new to be released book:poke:)
  12. Most actual scale terrain will look small when compared to a fully based mini (especially the doors). The base is like adding another 6" of height to the mini and about a foot and a half to the width. Also remember the Whitewash city models are scalable so if you want them a bit bigger just scale the cut outs up a bit.
  13. These look a lot better with the satin finish.
  14. Beautiful work! Would you mind sharing the skin tone paints/ steps?
  15. You will have to fake the woodgrain by sorta striping light and dark browns. I use GW Bestial Brown, GW Graveyard Earth, and GW Bleached Bone.
  16. Hmm, I wonder if they have to be approved by the admin in order to show?
  17. Very good job, only glaring missing detail is the wood on the pistol. Adding woodgrain would help that. The Face is especially well done.
  18. Figured I'd show the rest of the Gremlin Crew I've finished starting with the Pigs. And the Hog Whisperers The rest of the Boys The Skeeters posse minus one
  19. I can hardly wait, any leaks as to a possible release date?
  20. To quote Paris Hilton "That's Hot" This is going to be awesome to play in for your group. Please continue to post the step by step progress.
  21. Love the metals. very well done. Over all well executed. Aside from the leaves, I would tone down your lighting setup when you take a pix. It looks like you are starting to wash out the fleshtones a bit.
  22. I like the scheme, but I think the gloss finish is a bit much. It hides a lot of your shading and highlighting. Usually a preference thing though so to each his own. Also I agree that the whitchling swords are very well done.
  23. This site has already been mentioned in a few threads, however, you are right. They are great as a base for buildings. I usually print them out and attach them to foamcore so they are a bit more durable. You can do some really great things with them if you add a couple of model rail road accesories.
  24. These are very well done. You really pulled off the cold feel of Rasputina. Love the hoarcats.
