  1. I like the wizard. Not so sure about the rollergirl who looks like she's trying really hard to fart...
  2. Shit, glad she's ok (and hopefully you will be soon too). There's just no understanding some of the sick people in the world today. Hope they find the b*****d... I should also add that although I don't agree with the death penalty, I think that neutering is a perfectly acceptable solution for these people...
  3. We saw these at Salute and they're very nice models. My partner bought all of them except for the giant.
  4. I've never heard of this company either. I'm not that keen on this model but just had a look at the rest of their range and some of them look pretty good!
  5. A great paintjob and congrats on the 2nd place! I particularly like the tan coloured material, which has come out really nicely!
  6. Yea, ultimately in this world you get what you pay for!
  7. Belated Happy Birthday from me too!!
  8. Woohoo, a weird togetherness competition, I'm in!
  9. I think that anyone who saw this range just had to drool over them. I picked up Humpty Dumpty, but would have picked up a couple more if I'd had more money. When I was buying mine Ali Morrison was also picking one up and he said that john Blanche had already been by and grabbed a couple, so that's a fairly good endorsement for a new range!
  10. If you've got any old Britta water filters then cut one of them open and you get a gazzillion little plastic ballbearings of various different sizes that will last you for years! I think they range from about 0.5-2mm (ish).

    Hello

    Hello! Welcome to Wyrd!
  12. Belated Birthday wishes from me. Glad that you had a good day!
  13. He must have had some serious surgery if he needs THAT much space!
  14. The base is already awesome. I can't wait to see how the whole piece comes together! By the way, I think that changing the pose of the horse was a great move because having it running makes the whole scene look more dynamic.
  15. Wow these are fantastic. I will have to make sure I pick up a few boxsets at Salute before they shut down and start to become harder to get hold of. It's such a shame that one of the best miniature makers is going to bite the dust. Boohoo :bawling:
  16. Oooh, I like this one. Some of the Enigma minis are great. Thanks for posting!
  17. Wow, there are some great stories. I chose my name partly because I liked the idea of creatures that could mimic colours and patterns, just as we sometimes strive to do when painting our miniatures. The other part is a nod towards my partner. When I signed up to Wyrd we had just come back from a holiday in Malta during which we visited a nature reserve. As we walked around we saw a sign saying that chameleons had been sighted in the reserve and he made me a bet that he would spot one during our walk. Obviously, I took on this bet thinking that it was a sure thing that he would never spot a chameleon, that being the point and all. But an hour later there we were watching a tiny chameleon walking along a branch and right before our eyes it was changing colour. It was also very cute with little swivelly eyes! It was the highlight of our trip and now whenever I think about how amazing nature is I aways spare a second to remember the chameleon.
  18. I quite like them. It saves on the 'trying to keep the ruler upright, not wobbling and at arms length whilst taking a non-blurry photo' exercise. There might be a more obvious way but I'm one of those people who tend to overlook the blindingly obvious and come up with some innately difficult method... :stupid:
  19. Does your camera have white balance? Most cameras have a custom white balance so you can tell it what is supposed to look white. That should improve the colours that you're getting. Your best bet is to use a white background (just use a blank piece of paper) and then set your white balance against that by clicking custom white balance and then pointing your camera in the direction of the white sheet and clicking on the ok button. Also, if you've got a macro setting on the camera then that can really help when you're taking photos because the one's you've posted are quite far away and with the macro setting you can get the camera much closer without having to zoom.
  20. I'm tempted to do a little vampire scene and these would work a treat!
  21. Oh, that's so sad. I don't know anything about gaming but they're one of my favourite miniature ranges. I hope somebody takes over some aspect of the mini production because the sculpts are just amazing.
  22. Well done for the first round! The explanation of how you did the scenery is very understandable and it's great to know how you did it. Thanks for sharing!
  23. He would be a nightmare to paint, but he is very funny and almost cute in a freakish way...
  24. Yea, i think that sometimes simplicity is the key because a lot of companies overcomplicate their miniatures but it doesn't have to be complicated to be beautiful.
