WP_19

this is a deserving winner for me, from the illustration behind, brush/blend technique on the fur, the overall muted warm tone in the diorama, those dolls on the pathway. Honestly, this is miniatures art as its best. Simple story to telll executed very well. Best of luck!

Very nice piece, great composition, great technique. I miss the connection with the celebration theme though.

I think it's that there are Halloween pumpkins out, so this takes place on Halloween.

In any case the smoothness and color palette of everything here is superb.

I got to agree with @Brushwarrior here. This is my favourite as well. Excellent work, hands down👏👏👏 I mean that fur... just wow!

Only thing that bugs me is that the backdrop isn't quite dark enough (could be paint and/or surface properties), so that the tree casts a shadow.

You can't fool physics The background is a flat surface, and there is a light source - so there will be a shadow.  I think it's incredibly difficult to photograph this without a shadow.

This one hits me in the feels. Can't quite put my finger on the why. But this is my favorite of the bunch. Well done.

why do i love the drag marks so much?

So many great submissions and after careful consideration this is my favorite.  The scene is great, and I love the color palette. I think what put it into the top spot for me is: it doesn't need fancy lighting to just look amazing.  Also, the detail work is precise yet subtle, so even if you get close up it will still look great. It's not flashy, but still manages to be exceptional.

Absolutely fantastic work!  Leaves, backdrop that adds to - yet doesn't distract from - the models, bloody streaks on the sidewalk...bravo!  My initial thought was, "Marlena isn't Undead..." until I looked closer and saw that she is now!

Jesus there is just so much awesomeness going on in that piece. Focus is clearly on the main model and that ist really the challenge. Love it. 

Such a classic celebration of Halloween going on with beloved Malifaux characters, there is nothing to not love about this piece.

It makes me nostalgic somehow in the best of ways.

Love it, reminds me a bit of a more gory ghiblee version hehe
