I am definitely in the thumbs up category on this. In day to day life it sometimes becomes important for someone to step in and say "Hey, man...Chill out a bit." so it seems even more important in a format like this where a "friendly" comment can seem outright devilish to have moderation. After all, all things in moderation right?

Also I can see Gruesome's intended point, I believe. I would wager he's under the impression that now it's an "Agree with us or burn for your insolence!" mentality. I doubt my opinion holds a lot of merit, but I'd say that we're safe. Wyrd has already explained their intentions and the fact that they are very okay with disagreeing with them and with ourselves. Just not disagreeing by headbutting someone's puppy.

Your issue is that the game developers can't be bothered to moderate a forum actively and that they delegate?

This is a real question and what seemed to be infered in your last post.

I think the post was referring to this bit:

That said, people who enjoy 1.5 and don't enjoy 2.0 are more than welcome to express those opinions. And we will work to insure people who enjoy M2E are polite in response to those opinions.

I would assume that the need to be polite in one's response to other's opinions is considered to be an act of censorship and a restriction of the rights of expression by Gruesome. I, personally, consider it a basic necessity of effective communication and would recommend naysayers to wait before they make any judgement about the changes, as the final effects will be seen in their execution, not their intentions. As a long time reader of this forums however, I believe that Wyrd has made the right choice with the new moderators and have faith they will keep the forums as liberal and inspiring as they always were.
