Mako
Ooh, do it in sign language! ...while holding a large model and painting tools...
Webmonkey
Maybe I can just hold up que cards and cycle through them,.. like when Wile E. Coyote wants to talk to the audience. (I'm probably the only person here old enough to get that reference)
edonil
I love Coyote and Roadrunner cartoons! That'd be hilarious!
Webmonkey
ok,.. got the basic intro part done. Give me some feedback and let me know if you guys can see the shading or not,.. before I go full tilt on the rest of the tutorial,.. And please excuse the poor quality. This is my first tutorial,.. so bear with me.
Wings
Yep, I can see a bit of shading there. Looking forward to seeing more videos.
Webmonkey
Yeah, I'm trying to play with the lighting right now to get it all to show up as best as possible. The real tutorial is coming soon
Webmonkey
Alrighty,... I tried to keep it short, sweet, and simple. (It glitched a bit in the middle though, so I had to redo the back half of the video). But I hope you guys can see the shading as I go through the process. And I hope this helps you guys to be able to actually see the process, rather then just read about it. Please enjoy,.. and as always, feedback is encouraged,..

edonil
Thanks for posting up the tutorial, was great to be able to see the process firsthand. Hope you continue to do more!
Webmonkey
working on the cyborg-bits. It's coming along,.. albeit a bit slowly. Not getting much time to paint these days.
Webmonkey
got the arms added,.. now I just have to work on that seam line in the flesh arm. After that, attach the other leg then mount to the base. (more crappy photos,.. of course)
Webmonkey
Latest update,.. I've finally got the last leg attached and managed to get it mounted to the base. (see,.. I told you the egg thing would start to make sense later ) There's still a bit of touch up on the egg shell that needs done. So then, my current question is about the hair. I like the brown well enough,.. but I'm wondering if black wouldn't look better. Thoughts? (next up,... wings)
Linus Mcmold
The character has black hair in the comics, but this brown looks better in my opinion. I love how the skin came out, particularly the skin blushes look awesome. Blue fiber tingy on her cyborg leg looks a bit to dark in my opinion, but it might be the photo because it looks lighter in the preveious ones... Webmonkey
The leg bits and such are a dark teal type of color. I decided to keep the brown hair, and even managed to get 1 wing attached. Just need to do the other wing, and then I'm done!!!
Webmonkey
Got the mechanical wing on. Just the feather wing to go, and then it'll finally be complete,...
Webmonkey
I've painted the last wing dozens of time with lots of different patterns,... but I keep coming back to just plain white. So,.. I'm just gonna go with it. As such,.... Hatchling Angel,... complete!!! (I'll try to get a better pic later)
Webmonkey
And my next little project,.. involves this,...
Webmonkey
Quick update. Not much to show yet. I've managed to get the basic black on the outside and some red on the inside. Still needs about 3,000 more coats though.
edonil
On the black or the red? Cause the red looks a little velvety at the moment, which is neat.
Webmonkey
yeah, on the red. Needs to be a bit more solid. Gonna try for a bit more of a satin-sheet look.
ModollerMorgan
The Angel looks good. Real good, and the red on the coffin is good as is in my opinion.
Webmonkey
ok,.. got the red sorted, and got the handles added. Not sure about the metal plates where it attaches to the coffin body. Should the panels be black instead??
Viruk
I really like the contrast between black and red, very elegant. I'd probably either paint the panels black or make them much darker with washes.
Webmonkey
I've been working a bit in the background, and not really doing regular updates. So I thought that I'd stop and share where I'm at before I get too much further along.
Webmonkey
alright,.. mostly finished with the coffin side of this project. Now I just need to do the other half.
