Koop's Malifaux

Recommended Posts

I recently dived completely into the Malifaux universe. I had been playing off and on since book one, but never made the actual jump. Then I found that there was a thriving community here in southern california called the SoCal Malifaux. Anyway I've been playing many more games thanks to this group, and I figured I'd share on a bigger scale some of the stuff I've been doing with the Hobby.

Here's some of the models I've painted recently in my Malifaux resurgence:

Somehow the punk zombie pic was the most amusing one of them to me, maybe it is just the near toothless grin on his face. It just really amuses me.

As for the models, I really like what you did with some of the colors. Taelor's metal arm, the blue on the gun Vics vest and the horse of the dead rider all stood out to me.

Thanks happy yeti!

Matt don't I I'd call our group measly! Maybe some members, but not the group :-p.

Thanks Oatheborne! Colettes my favorite charcter in malifaux. So out of place amoungst all the evil stuff. Haha

Eternal void, thanks man! Dead rider has got to be one of my favorite models, first time I tried a blue hued flesh ;-). Glad you enjoyed the punk zombie! That ones got a lot of charcter.

Lupus, those wings took me a good 2 hours. I started with liche purple washed with badab black twice then brought up the purple with skull white slowly but surely. As for Nekima, I think she came it 5 pieces. Base, wings x2, body, sword.

Nice stuff! The Dead Rider's horse is wonderfully glowy, and Nekima looks fantastic. Those wings are a gorgeous colour.

Great drawings too. I think my favourites are Colette (for being so pretty) and the Punk Zombie (for looking so smug and self satisfied). And that Teddy is absolutely terrifying.

I really like Nekima! How long did the wings take? What parts does the model come in?

The Nekima model comes with a 50mm base, sculpted base insert, body (with one leg and I believe one arm already attached), right leg, right arm, sword (with attached hands), two wings and two horns. It's a fair pain in the butt to assemble (which is why I remember!) and debatable if she is worth the 13 soulstone cost but a lot of fun.

@ PMEvilbleachman: Doesn't offend me at all! Thanks for compliment!

Forgot to throw this one on here...

Eternally Shackled concept (going to be made into a painting down the road.)post-9598-13911923548982_thumb.jpg

Next drawing in the works is of Pandora using that precious box of hers to expose some poor souls greatest fear... I wonder who it should be...?

As for actual miniatures, I'm waiting on some resin bases I ordered Online to come in. Once they do get here I'm going to have the daunting task of painting:

Lilith box, x2 Young Nephilims, Pandoras box, Teddy, Iggy, Lelu, and Letlu.

Stay tuned...
