Mannequins' Link

Along the lines of the questions about abilities with identical names but different wording...

How is supposed the Mannequins' Link to work? As it is written on the card, it ends in the Start Closing Phase and needs to be reapplied every turn, unlike Sorrows' Link which ends when the models are not in b2b contact in the Start Closing Phase.

Came up during the game during the weekend.

Couldn't find it in the Clarifications (both Malifaux.com and PullMyFinger) and the search-fu has failed me.

I had assumed that Link in the RM had updated all instances of Link on cards:

(0) Link

This model and target model in base contact with it are Linked. After the model this model is

Linked to completes a Walk Action or ends its activation, Push this model into base contact with

the Linked model. Link ends if the two models are not in base contact at the Start Closing Phase.

Uh, I thought if the cards say different, that version is used.

Though you may be right, Mannequin cards are Book 2 and predate Rules Manual.

There should only ever be one wording of each ability, link was updated after the cards were printed, becoming a standard ability in the Rules Manual.
