DAGabriel
if you work with a wet palette, you can narmally store small amounts of mixed paint for some days while working on one or a small group of models.
SteamHammer
I had never even heard of a wet pallete but it looks like something I should try out. Thanks for the tip.
TheOneWhoFell
Welcome to Malifaux! There's lots of great advice here on the forums, and if you're looking for extra information, check out the Fan made (Work in progress) wiki! (Link is in my signature). Welcome to the Wyrd Side! Glad you're enjoying the game!
LonelyPath
Welcome to the Wyrd-er side of life I started with Colette myself (I admire burlesque so it was a natural move for me) and since branched off to Sonnia, Lilith, Lady J, Pandora and now Rasputina (the last 4 aren't being used yet as they are all awaiting a lick of paint). This game really is addictive with all the beautiful models in it. I just hope your bank balance doesn't suffer as greatly as mine is these days, heheh
SteamHammer
Thanks. Such a warm welcome you get here. My bank balance is already a lost cause thanks to this game. And then Wyrd go and release a new book and whole pile of new miniatures. Oh well, gaming prevents going to the pub so I can use the money saved from that. Someday someone will open a gaming store/pub to prevent it being a daycare centre and that would cause problems.
Chucklemonkey
Good day to you sir. One of my very best friends lives in Stornoway - alas though he is not a wargamer. Enjoy the game and the forum.
SteamHammer
Thank you my good man. I take it he has no interest in becoming one.
Chucklemonkey
Not as far as I'm aware. Computer gaming and visiting the local public houses are more his scene. Still, good Luck expanding your group.

SteamHammer
I'll give that a go tonight.
SteamHammer
The wet palette worked like a charm, I'll definitely use that when mixing paint. Thanks again for that advice. My camera can't focus on the miniatures. It is a very old digital one (think back to when 2 mega pixels was an acceptable amount) so I'll try and get hold of a better one. edonil
What'd you use to get your wet palette together? I've attempted to make one in the past and it hasn't ended well...lol
SteamHammer
One of the plastic blister packs as that way I can close it which might also help stop the water from evaporating. 3 sheets of kitchen towel folded up. Enough water to soak them. Then a single layer of baking paper (greaseproof paper) on the top. If the baking paper doesn't become damp then add a bit more water to the soaked towel layer. So far so good at least. I checked this morning and the paint I was using in it last night still looked wet.
edonil
Huh. Never thought of using a blister pack. Good thing I have some still, I might need to steal that method...
SteamHammer
I used a combination of the tissues for the moisture layer from the link DAGabriel posted above and the blister pack instead of a box in this link http://forums.brushthralls.com/index.php?showtopic=4806 as I've been keeping all my blister packs to use as dry palettes anyway. SteamHammer
OK, new camera can actually focus on the miniatures. So I've joined up to the Tale of Whatchamacallit ready to start learning new things like basing. Rubbish lighting here today but I was impatient and wanted to try a new toy. So here are my miniatures artificially lighted using GIMP. I'll replace them the next time we get a nice bright day. http://s1109.photobucket.com/albums/h438/SteamHammerMalifaux/Arcanists/ http://s1109.photobucket.com/albums/h438/SteamHammerMalifaux/Guild/ http://s1109.photobucket.com/albums/h438/SteamHammerMalifaux/Resurrectionists/ P.S. The wet palette is still going strong (damp at least), although I've not had time to do much painting in this last week.
EricJ
Well I'm late to this thread, but I still wanted to say hi and welcome you Any luck getting Malifaux to spread in your area? Great to hear it got you back into miniature gaming at least!
SteamHammer
Sorry for the late reply, I was on holiday last week. I did demo the game to the person visiting me, but no luck finding anyone new in my area yet. But I keep trying.
Shae-Konnit
I know what you mean... I know one other player in my area and I haven't seen him in about 4 months. I need to get some demos on the go to entice folk, but I'm not long after weaning them away from 40k and I think their wallets are a bit nervous...
