  1. I really love the look of the Mannequin, but I feel my favourite master has been let down greatly by this sculpt Not enough Burlesque and to much wild West for my tastes. I think I'll use the old Colette mini and use this one as a extra Performer.
  2. How do all! I hope the Zombie Gothic Showgirls have been behaving themselves, I left them here to help spruce the thread up with a fresh lick of paint. I have bitten the KS bullet again and got myself the Zombicide S3 since I had no hope in hell of resisting that one (damn zombie addiction) and on Friday I got to see the prototype for the In Her Majesty's Name Board Game which looks good, but needs some tweaking as it currently seems to contain about 300 cards and the game takes a long time to play (Fridays game took about 5 hours!). I have been painting the odd mini here and there though, the latest being more survivors and zombivors for Zombicide, while I may not paint every mini I have for that game this year, I will art least get the survivors and zombivors done, heh.
  3. School... ummm.... nope, it was far to long ago for me to remember much from it. However, I do remember correcting my teachers a lot in mathematics, heh. Tonight sees the start of my Tuesday gaming group starting off a Squadron UK campaign where I am playing a sneaky heroine called Lady Fade who also works for a Torchwood-like organisation on the sly and is secretly spying on the other characters. Yeah, I never can play someone run-of-the-mill, I have to add some little twist. We tried out the system a couple of months back and it was fun, but have yet to do a proper game so we'll see how tonight goes. What I do like is that the GM is producing game versions of the local newspaper now and then covering the major points of local news
  4. ~Sips ale in the shadows whilst watching the thread pass me by~ Yeah, and you thought I'd disappeared, I was merely lurking, muahahahaha! Sadly the Gothic Showgirls all starved to death since I couldn't be bothered to feed them. However, good news is they are now all Zombie Gothic Showgirls! As for reality (it is still there, I checked), not much painting going on (I am way behind on my goal to paint all my Zombicide minis this year), but I have been playing a lot of Gloom, Eden Escape, Star Fluxx, Elder Sign, Chez Goth, Munchkin Zombies, Zombicide along with more games I can possibly list right here.
  5. ~unleashes the gothic showgirls on the thread again~ And you all thought you were safe again muahahaha!!! Hope all is well with everyone, I am still busy painting minis (this year my goal is to paint all my Zombicide stuff) and gaming.
  6. I'll see if I can get a few pics done. There really has't been any good light to get pics done lately, a shame really as I want to take pics of a fair few minis I've painted
  7. ~Carted in on a stretcher by various Gothic Showgirls, deposited in my comfy chair and hooked up to life support~ Yeah, still sick, but not as bad as the girls make it out to be. I am slowly getting better. Things have slowed down due to illness, but I have still managed to assemble some of my Deadzone stuff and paint a Dreadball team for myself (Void Sirens coz they're girls and play unfair, heh) along with another Deathwing squad (bringing the total to 57 painted Deathwing to date!). Shaper, that mini looks well nice mate!
  8. How do all! No much painting to report on lately, just a few things here and there. I have the Flu so not feeling to productive right now, just feeling to "bleh". However I have painted a few EM-4 Gangers, a Perfidious Relic for my Dark Angels and started plotting out my Malifaux church/cathedral ruins to get underway with once I am better. Heck, at least I finally finished painting my Viks crew some 3 months after I started it, heh. LotR Battle Game? WOW! Not played that for years now. I gave up on it when GW did the same as they always do in trying to push sales down our throats with War of the Ring (which had a terrible rules system, they should have borrowed Warmaster... oh wait, they couldn't, the owner of that game was forced to leave the company...) by saying we now needed 100s of models to play. Yeah, so I already had 400 Uruk-Hai from ebay off people that bought the Battles For Middle Earth magazine and resold some minis (which I eagerly snatched up when it as Uruk Hai), but it was the principle of that they had turned a skirmish game in to a battle game. I do like the new Elf rangers for The Hobboit game though, even if the price is ridiculous. Also, £15 for a single 25mm plastic mini? they are halfing a laugh... right?!
  9. ~Swings in followed by a regular assortment of Gothic Showgirls that all strangely look like the late Showgirl #66~ Afternoon and happy weekend to all! Also, don't worry about the girls all looking like #66, Nicodem gave them a little work And now... It's booze time! ~Lies under the Ale Monolith with mouth open and starts to drink heartily~ OH! And before I| forget, I have now finished painting my Viks box, Vanessa and Colette Avatar, plus I took time out to paint and base a custom order for a Hoarcat Pride (it only took about 2 hours total to do, so not bad). Next on my list of minis to paint... ORKS! HA! Yeah, that'll be the day, they've been waiting for me to paint more than 2500 points of them for eons so they can stay waiting, I have been promising to finish painting my Deathwing for a while no, or maybe get some more zombies and survivors done (as if painting 1150 zombies and 60 survivors already this year wasn't enough, heheh).
  10. Sounds like a good idea, I'd like to attend something like that myself mate. Heck, I may just arrange something like that for my regular gaming group. This year I hosted a 40k Zombie Survival game for a few people as a little bit of fun, but next year Malifaux might be worth a go. Heck knows I have enough stuff to do it with, might set it in a ruined cathedral or something since I have just ordered the foamcard to make a modular one to go with my graveyard terrain set.
  11. I won't be ordering until Saturday since I'm waiting on money from people since it's a group order. As I said I'd like some of the ltd ed. stuff, but it's not really what I'm after at the end of the day (The Carver would be really nice though, heh).
  12. Have they sold out on the metal puppets? I was hoping to get a few of those to paint up. Mostly I am after things for 2nd edition though and a rules manual for a friend.
  13. I'm good thanks Ed, I seem to be all "busy busy busy" these days yet never seem to do anything, heh. Still, video gaming and mini painting seems to keep me amused. Hmm... trying to work out what I want from the sale now... so many shinies I want, so little money!
  14. Afternoon all! I have returned for a 2nd day on the row after a long stint of painting last night which left me with completed minis of Colette's avatar (hopefully I'll get some pics soon). However, in the meantime here is a pic as a promised (threatened?) of me on Hallowe'en this year, I did tell people to be afraid...
  15. Things are about the same as always, strangely I've spent most of the last few months playing Borderlands 2 with Regnak when I've not been painting stuff or watching stuff (normally while painting stuff, lol). Now I've worked out the macro feature on my phone I'll be taking more pics of minis when the light is there, just that it's almost always pitch black these days (dull days and trees outside blocking a lot of light) and daylight bulbs seem to tint my minis yellow when I used them to take pics, lol. Of course, the Gothic Showgirls also keep me busy by supplying me wit ha constant barrage of ales. Also cut down a lot of smoking, I didn't quit though, that'd be foolish since I like taking a break from painting for a ciggy to rest my hands, but I did cut back by about 75% of what I did smoke a day. Gods bless those that invented the electronic ciggy... It was Cthulhu, wasn't it? Heck, Cthulhu gets the credit regardless (the Girls have their own little cult now and worship the Bones Cthulhu, bless their stripy socks).
  16. Mako me old mate! The Pumpkin Golem is from Reaper Miniatures Pumpkin Horrors range, here's a link... http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/pumpkin/latest/03377 I use those models as my Dreamer Crew (they even have a witch sitting on a pumpkin, heh). The Fairy is Hasslefree Miniature's Fairies Wear Boots, it's also 40mm scale and was a bueaty to paint, but a word of warning if you get it, be careful of the casting on the right arm. I base coated mine to find some flaws in the surface meaning I had to remove the paint there, file, retouch with green stuff and repaint it again. Shine, I do try that strategy with hiding the unpainted horde(s), but I still hear them moaning in their boxes. I swear I'll get to them some day... well, eventually... Who knows, I may even get my Orks painted, it's only taken me about a decade to paint all of my current Grey Knights army (which now only uses the current ranges of models unless it's Apocalypse where the old RT era terminators and land raiders come out to play)... Of courses, there are also all of those Bones minis and the Relic Knights stuff will be arriving at some point in the near(ish) future. At least I have most of my Malifaux stuff painted, just 10 more models to go there, I may have to take some pics when the light allows and start a thread in Minis Showcase at some points, Gods knows I painted enough this year. I am hoping to get the Bones Cthulhu painted up soon along with 1 of the dragons I got with it to use as Hell Drakes on my Chaos Marine army.
  17. ~Sneaks up on everyone with my Girls and we all shout "BOO!" very loud~ MUAHAHAHAHA!!! That woke y'all up Things are as always, watching tv, watching movies, painting minis and occasionally playing some Xbox. However, I have hit 514 minis painted this year, that's more than I normally paint in a decade. Sad thing though, no matter how many minis I paint the pile never seems to shrink I will leave you now with a couple of pics of minis I have painted Also, be warned, there's a Hawllowe'en pic of me coming, be VERY afraid as the Gothic Showgirls approve MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
  18. If I wasn't expecting a few KS and other international orders to arrive (and hence customs charges, erk!) I would have likely ordered pretty much everything they released over the weekend for 2.0. Was very difficult making the decision of what to order so I could keep my order to about $150 (ended up going over by $10 though, hahaha).
  19. I have the feeling I am soon going to be buried under a massive wave of miniatures. Yep, my Bones KS is finally on its way! Just add some more to the painting pile I have more Hasslefree Adventurers to paint up, 15 Heresy Tactical Marines and 2 Apothecaries to paint up as well. Oh, and 5 Tartaros termies. At least these are all my minis for a change! I told the guy with the thunderhawk and so on to go stuff himself when the most he'd offer me was £150 for assembling AND Painting his models and then also shipping them to him. Umm... with paints, labour and shipping rates I'd also be in the red at £150 for just the Thunderhawk, let alone the other models he wanted done (Thunderbolt, Lightning and a Malcador). Some people are just cheeky. I generally don;t do commission work, but I will on occasion for some people (and if the price is rightwith others, heh). Was gonna paint today but shoulder's spasming on and off, will hopefully get some done tomorrow instead
  20. Ratty - rural Britain is nothing like that within a good many miles of me, lol! It must be of the English and not us Welsh And in other news... Oops, almost forgot it's Gencon weekend! Thankfully I remembered in the end for me to get my order in, heh. Ah, hard to remember the little things when you're busy saving the word from totalitarian tyrants, zombies, psychopaths, ghosts, dragons and who knows what else (I think I may have been on the Xbox to much lately, not sure...) like painting miniatures, finishing a drawing that's taken me 7 months to do (my hands can barely hold a pen or pencil anymore, a sad thing indeed for a artist, but at least I can still do a up/down motion so I can paint minis, lol) and various other things. Still, it was a close thing but I shall have my Miss Step and nightmare editions shinies Oh yeah, if people have been wondering why the monoliths were missing on Wednesday and Thursday, they were taken away for their tri-annual maintenance. The Gothic SHow Girls were hard at work on them and no promise the Slipper Monolith will no longer try to eat your hands, it will now just try to swallow you whole like intended all along. They do enjoy helping out
  21. When I bought them it was more like £75 for 150 of them. It was during a mega sale clearing the old 2 termies for $3.50 days and they dropped them to 75p a blister. I snapped up all of Shrewsbury's stock of 75 blisters. Also snapped up half their stock of Skeleton Army boxes and every metal zombie they had on site by the end of the sale, heh. Looking at the list I posted the other week for what I have painted for my Dark Angels, I forgot the 2 Dreadnoughts and Contemptor Dreadnought, oops. Since it's a nice hot sunny day though... ~Parks next to the Ale Monolith with a couple of the Girls fanning me as I sip ale at my leisure~ To hot to get much done these days so very little painting going on, though I did paint up 2 Praetors for my Heresy Death Guard, 3 more Dark Angels (flamer, meltagun and plasma gun guys), a Callidus Assassin (using a Dark Age mini though), the last of my Grey Knights (found another terminator lurking in my army case, still can't find the other 120 I'm missing in the attic though, grr) and 2 more zombie apocalypse survivors. Actually that's not to bad for 2 weeks painting, but after the rest of the year so far it's slow as hell, lol! Been addicted to Borderlands 2 lately, which Regnak can attest to if he ever comes on here, we co-op on there often enough. Good game, wish I'd bought it sooner now.
  22. Shaper, that looks really nice! Well I've escaped grey Knights and Nazis (oh, and those zombies) for a while and instead turned my attention to pre-Heresy Death Guard and painted my first minis for that army, namely the Praetor minis that Forge World released and very nice models they are if I do say so myself. I also finally briefly turned my attention back to my Dark Angels 3rd company and finished that off! I now have the following painted for that army... Entirety of the 3rd company (6 tactical squads (though I have 7 painted), 2 assault squads and 2 Devastator squads (with 15 addition heavcy weapons painted) plus all the transports), Azrael, Ezekiel, Asmodai, Belial (all 3 variants), Sammael (both variants, corvex is the FW jetbike though since I like that model more), 3 Company Masters, 2 Librarians, 3 Chaplains, 2 Command Squads (1 with chapter banner, the other has standard of devastation), 11 Deathwing Squads, 2 DW Knight squads, Deathwing Command, 3 Ravenwing Attack Squadrons, Ravenwing Command, Land Raider crusader, Land Raider Achilles, Vindicator, 2 Predator Destructors, 1 Whirlwind, 1 Whirlwind Hyperios, 1 Nephilim. Not bad so far and I still have another Attack Squadron and 2 Deathwing squads to paint. Anyone else think I may have gone over the top with that army? Still, at least it's not approaching 200 terminators like my Grey Knights are... I still cannot find 120 of those terminators though, I know I have them somewhere dammit! Next up though is to start work on my Abyssal Terror ridden by a vampire for my 28mm Warmaster army. Lots of skeleton and zombie parts, hand maiden form the coven thrown, tonnes of green stuff and a large oval base, plus some wings I got off Ebay from various models. It should be quite a beasty, heh. And I still have 20 zombies, 10 survivors and 30 Nazis on my painting tray to get done! Oh, and the guy I painted those Grey KNights for now wanted mt to paint a dreadnought and dreadknight for him. At this rate I'll not get my own stuff done, well if I accept. I demand better payment this time, even more so if he wants me to paint a finecast Castellan Crowe as well (that will double the price of the commission for the prep work and horrid painting experience with that garbage)!
  23. ~Wakes up in my comfy chair wondering why there's a bear trap on my lap~ Mako, you put this one here or was it one of the girls? ~carefully moves it aside and notices the Ale Monolith surrounded by similar traps~ Okay, now I know the girls are messing with us! Sorry I've not been about much in here, been busy painting miniatures again. Just when I thought I was finally free of painting Grey Knights for 40k (and Red Skull Nazis for Bolt Action plus more zombies and survivors) I got commissioned to paint 20 of the blighters for someone else! At least they only wanted tabletop standard though, still meant 3 levels of highlighting and shading though, lol. I don't do tabletop standard! Then again I rarely accept commissions. ~Sends a girl to get me a pint from the Ale Monolith whilst I watch Showgirl 66's younger sister setting off all the traps Mako laid out with a long stick~ Well, at least she's not hurling them at us like her older sister would have, but Fell and Abs saw to her, they hanged her, shot her, etc. She died eventually. Last I heard she's hanging out with Molly in the Quarantine Zone seeing what happens when you sew 13 Teddies and 83 Doxies together...
  24. That Jailbird Mecha looks good. Looks more like a Penitent Engine than the one GW released, phaw good stuff! Raging Heroes do make some lovely models though, might be high time I invested in some! Well time here has been spent painting zombies, more survivors, another Nemesis Dreadknight, 10 more Deathwing, 2 Inquisitors, 5 Grey Knight terminators, a Watcher in the Dark and some other things. 9 zombies and 4 survivors on my painting tray right now and after that it's the turn of the Oiran (so Colette doesn't feel left out after me painting lots of minis and none of them being for her). And now to the Ale Monolith!!!
  25. Evening everyone! Lots of painting going on here still. This time I have to rewport that I have painted a Predator Annihilator, Land Raider Crusader and Land Raider Achilles for my Dark Angels, as well as, 4 more zombies, then 2nd Dead Doxy and Hasslefree Miniatures' amazing Fairies Wear Boots (was great fun to paint). In addition to this I have painted Mei Feng's crew (in 1 day! that amazed me as well, but I couldn't sleep so painted most of the night as well, heh), my Doom of Malan'tai for my 'Nids and some other assorted bits and bobs. I seem to bave also finalised my Death Guard list, managed to get it under £300 for a 1,000 point list which includes 5 Deathshroud Terminators as my HQ, heheheh. In other news, the Gothic Showgirls would like to announce a new and improved Tutu Monolith after Abs sat on the old one and broke it
