Morning...so what does anyone know about infinity then lol!

After swearing I would NOT get drawn into another games system, our local shop is having a drive on starting it...he wants a few people to pick a small force for each faction and give it a go...

I foolishly said in a moment of weakness that I may be interested..

I have looked at the minis and the two factions that appeal are Aleph and Tohaa(?)

Any thoughts?

Tohaa are a lot of fun. Limited right now, but there's not really a WYSIWYG idea in Infinity. I really enjoy mine a lot.

ALEPH tend to be a fairly elite army, with fewer models on the field, but they do a lot more. They're also really good at infowarfare.

thanks for the heads up...I really need to get hold of the rulebooks I suppose, maybe try and look through a copy in the store. I think the Tohaa are in the 3rd book (paradiso)?

I know they have the basics on their website as downloads but I am a fluff junkie so I assume the backgrounds etc are all in the 3 books?

And out of interest, what exactly does the Tohaa delegate do!? She doesn't seem to have special rules etc..

The Tohaa delegate is a Specialist, which comes up in certain scenario types where only specialists (Forward Observer, Hacker, Engineer, Doctor) can interact with the objective. She counts as whatever you need at the moment for the scenario. Beyond that, she's got one nasty template weapon, a nanopulsar, that'll ruin someone's day if they get hit by it.

And yeah, the Tohaa are in Paradiso. The rules themselves are all online, actually. The only real reason to get the rulebooks is the fluff (there's lots of it, it's all awesome) and to have a physical reference.

Oh, and she's dirt cheap at 5 points. The only thing bad about her, honestly, is that she's an Irregular, so doesn't add to your Order pool.

May see if I can pick up the books cheap then, as the fluff is what drives me in the game.

And I'm glad the delegate has some possibilities as it is a sweet model, and I have an idea for schemes already.

I think if I start, it will be Tohaa.

The thing I like about them is their entire culture is built around the number three, and the rules reflect that. Everyone else can only make fireteams in Sectorial lists, 3-5 models and only one team. Tohaa can make as many three man teams as they want, and it's a really useful trick, although it does have its downsides... teams of three are a lot easier to break than teams of five, lol.

Yes Path, I would say you've gone overboard with that army. And how do you lose two grand of terminators? O.o

When I bought them it was more like £75 for 150 of them. It was during a mega sale clearing the old 2 termies for $3.50 days and they dropped them to 75p a blister. I snapped up all of Shrewsbury's stock of 75 blisters. Also snapped up half their stock of Skeleton Army boxes and every metal zombie they had on site by the end of the sale, heh.

Looking at the list I posted the other week for what I have painted for my Dark Angels, I forgot the 2 Dreadnoughts and Contemptor Dreadnought, oops.

Since it's a nice hot sunny day though...

~Parks next to the Ale Monolith with a couple of the Girls fanning me as I sip ale at my leisure~

To hot to get much done these days so very little painting going on, though I did paint up 2 Praetors for my Heresy Death Guard, 3 more Dark Angels (flamer, meltagun and plasma gun guys), a Callidus Assassin (using a Dark Age mini though), the last of my Grey Knights (found another terminator lurking in my army case, still can't find the other 120 I'm missing in the attic though, grr) and 2 more zombie apocalypse survivors. Actually that's not to bad for 2 weeks painting, but after the rest of the year so far it's slow as hell, lol!

Been addicted to Borderlands 2 lately, which Regnak can attest to if he ever comes on here, we co-op on there often enough. Good game, wish I'd bought it sooner now.
