  1. I use skype, and pen and paper, and i control the community deck. (They only get to draw cards if i shuffle or seriously screw something up and tell them to) they have their personal twist decks. It actually works surprisingly well. You can still share things like maps and whatever supplemental documents, flavor stuff, or whatever that you want through email, gdocs, or share screen. My group really enjoys it. Does that answer your question?
  2. oh, here, I should read the whole thing... I want to test!
  3. That sounds like a reasonable way to do it, to me.
  4. Mine is a play off my last namer, a buddy in AIT (army job training basically) called me that. It amused me so I use it for forums.
  5. Insomnia is killing me slowly I think. It's strangling my brain.
  6. That is one scary Nephilim Sephiroa! I love it!
  7. I'd love to see the stats for those when you're done with them. I might use them on my group.
  8. I hope she enjoys it. I'm going to bed.... good night. It was nice seeing you again, Monkey!
  9. Ha! yes I even have the coloring for it. you know how cinderella's carriage turned into a pumpkin after midnight? That's me after bedtime. At least, I think that's where that phrase came from..
  10. coughing a lot, voice has been gone since saturday, and I'm a pumpkin! Wheee!
  11. I've started coughing... how the heck did you give me your plague over the internets!
  12. He's not actually made out of bits of things, but I get what you're saying. Interesting rewrite, I like it. I'm not sure armor would have helped him any as the player who did pretty much all the damage ignores armor.
  13. I think I remember that room LZ. That was the session that I got pinned by a cute little voodoo doll yah?
  14. I would be careful with winging it for every spell. That might make consistency difficult, and that's an important thing to have if you're calculating your ability to cast a spell. I think your first one is probably closer to what you want.
  15. Has anyone designed any traps to use in your campaigns? My players are looking very hard for traps and I've never put any in. I'd hate to disappoint them, but I've never done anything with traps before. (TTB is the first RP I've ever run myself) Help!
  16. I'm running one through skype, I'd invite you to join us but there are already 5 players. I"ll let you know if I start another one up though. I enjoy running them and skype works well, with some modifications to rules like fatemaster touching the deck. You might also consider trying a Play By Post campaign? I know how frustrating it can be to have no one near who will play. Sorry man. :/
  17. In the back of the fatemaster's Almanac there's a chapter with story ideas, complications etc. One of them is The Lord of Bits and Pieces, who I've dubbed Bitsy Pieces because I'm a lazy typer. we just finished it last night, actually, and I wound up building Bitsy Pieces from scratch because there was NOTHING like him in the bestiary that would challenge my rather munchkiny players. One of them likes to one shot guild witchling handlers. So I just gave him stats that I thought would make him a little tougher. He lasted half a round, so I'm not sure I was successful, but he did manage to actually hit one of my fated and cause some noticeable damage. Here's the stats if anyone wants him tho: Bitsy Pieces: level 10 Neverborn, Living 3AP Might 2, Grace 0, Speed -1 Resilience 3 Charm 2 Int -1 Cun 2 Ten 3 Df 3 (13) WP 5 (15) Wounds 12 Walk 3 Charge 4 Skills Melee (2) Toughness (3) Whatevercontrollingknicknackswouldbe (3) (1)Swarm of Knick-knacks Av 4 (14) Rng 12 1/2/3 (2) "Got your nose" Av 3 (13) Rng 2 3/4/5 DF Trigger (M) Shild of things -Knick Knacks absorb 1/2/3 damage. He looks pretty scary but he fell really fast. Might have lasted longer if the group hadn't wiped out his knick-knack swarms before they opened the sarcophagus.
  18. My group started with 5 fated, one of them got hit over the head with life stuff and had to disappear for a while, so we've been a group of four fated with one FM. 3-4 works pretty well if you're new to running a role playing game of any sort, like I was when we started. (It's got a surprisingly shallow learning curve, and it's FUN!) Add in too many more than that though and you can get lost trying to keep a RP group on focus. We have lots of "lanterns"* as we call them, which lead to distractions and total "I forgot we were even gaming" moments. *My group spent 15 out of game minutes trying to figure out how to light up a sewer so they could see, before doing a notice check to see that there was a whole wall full of lanterns right next to them. it was pretty hilarious
  19. Wow, very nice OSL. For a second I thought he had a little LED or something in the lantern.
  20. on our part? no, none of us were maimed. Ed's brother got in a few really good martial arts moves, and I beat the crud out of a nephilim with my rail hammer, if that counts at all.
