What level/chapter, Lonely? I'm 27 on Chapter 5, playing Xian.

I'm trying to escort that native girl from the caves to the boat. Keep getting caught and hacked up by the butchers since she insists on trying to fight them (even though she says at the start to avoid them). Any tips for getting passed that bit? I'm around level 30 right now with Sam B. Also got another game going with Xian at the start of Chapter 2.

Chocobo - thanks buddy :)

Hmm. Sounds like you're farther along than me. In the jungle? I'm still in the city, slicing up the great unwashed. Haven't followed the main quest from the church, still side questing.

I haven't encountered a Butcher yet. Sounds scary. Methinks I'll stay in the city. ;)

Yeah, I'm on chapter 14, I thought you were at 15 when I first read your post, lol! The jungle is nasty and has some surprises in there, like Jason (if you hear a voice saying "brains, brains" or "fresh meat", just run to the closest vehicle you can drive and look for him and run him over! (he'll vanish the instant he "dies" though) his cabin has a awesome chainsaw if you can get to it though).

Also see if you can do what I did, drive off the broken freeway and land on a tree getting your jeep stuck on top of said tree, lol!

I will be going back to hunt down more side quests I missed with Sam (when I eventually get that girl back to the boat) that I've later found with Xian. Oh, and some of those weapon mods are great fun :D

Butchers are like Infected, but a lot faster and they hit harder, plus they're as hard to knock down as Thugs (which I've got got at knocking down lately it seems). If you have problems with Suiciders, try and headshot them (they tend to explode), Floaters are easy wen you get in melee as every blow knocks them off balance, but at a range they do loads of damage. Or, if all else fails, molotovs, deobombs and grenades are always useful. I may try those against the Butchers if I have any on Same (I'm thinking I may have left them behind on Jin by accident, oops).

Another little tip without spoiling anything. If you get a shotgun, stick it in Jin for safe keeping, you will get access to the ammo (and lots of it) later on.

It's a homage to Jason Voorhees, he runs about with a machete and wears a burlap sac over his head. If you see a lone guy shouting those phrases and cutting zombies apart like crazy, run away before he finishes them off. His house is found not far north of 3 tents in the middle of the jungle map (where some cannibals live and you can have lots of shootouts with, heh).

Sam B, instead of getting boosted healing kits gets regeneration, and that's not enough to save you in that mission, hahaha.

I did all the side missions I could find in the resort, city and jungle, but I must have gone through them whilst killing less stuff than you for me to be a lower level much later on. Saying that, I have Xian at level 16 in chapter 6.

Hmm.. after watching a few videos on You Tube for the section I'm stuck on, it seems the pc version is easier! They have less enemies in that section of the game :(

I find Xian very easy to level, especially if I can launch her Rage attack on multiple Thugs or enemies who otherwise reward buckets of XP. With the multipliers and the speed of her attacks, I've gained 3000+XP from a single Rage mode session ... about 10 seconds of work.
