Ritual
As some might know, Rackham is working on a Sci-Fi game called AT-43 (not a very catchy name, but...). Here's some photos of some minis for this game. http://barhan.free.fr/salons.php?id_salon=05&id_armee=AT There's some pretty cool stuff there, I'd say. supervike
Sweet!! I remember hearing about that game so long ago that I figured it got shelved. AT-43 I thought meant 'alternate technology-43 (like in 1943)...So Alternate ww2!! Wheeee! Honestly, I've never been into anything Rackham does, other than just appreciate the fine job, but this may just change all that.
LeadAsbestos
How am I going to stick to my "no more (well, not as many...) new minis" pledge, if things like this keep coming out!? I'm gonna have to unplug the computer...
green stuff
Compared to their Confrontation line, I'm more than disapointed. The vehicles are bland and the troopers lack in character. The initial concepts did look more promissing though.
Spacemunkie
Bland? BLAND??!! Just because they're not dripping with chuffing filligree I reckon those bots look quality. Lots of scope for monstrous freehand and painted damage. I reckon the line is gonna kick some arse. Nice bases too. Glad to see they have kept the hardware minimal and functional looking, not like the tat GW knocks out, all covered in knobs and whistles. This is obviously only one faction as well. Can't wait to see what else crops up.
Mosch
Hm... don't like the mech things and the troopers look pretty generic. I have to admit that in this picture the face looks really well sculpted, and I think I would like to paint one or two of those.... yay, another game I can get the rules for so nobody will play it with me
Ritual
I think the mech things actually DO have lots of character and, as Scott pointed out, they have large empty surfaces that leave a lot of room for the painter to do creative stuff on! I'm not sure I will get any of these since I'm not really into this type of minis, but if I ever change my mind about that these are probably the ones I will be getting. green stuff
@Scott : have you seen the initial concept art? I'm sorry to insist, but this seems quite bland to me compared to what had been planned. But if you or Anders can paint one of these babies up and make me change my mind, I'll be more than happy to reconsider my opinion .
vincegamer
I wonder why our modern soldiers don't wear huge honking boxes on their shoulders. Judging by minis, all future armies will for some reason. Okay, sarcasm over, I don't care for the individual soldiers (other than the quality of the sculpts of course). They just don't do anything for me. On the other hand I really like the mecha things - very original twist on an old concept.
Art-de-Vivre
Have to side w/ Green Stuff on this one : not as good as their fantasy lines IMHO. For futuristic scenarios, I prefer miniatures that are somehow darker like the ones in Dark Age for instance.. Cheers !
Patrick
Yep, I'm with Art and Green Stuff on this one. Oh - and look, another round slotted base. We need more of those. I do like the armament on the big mech-thing. Ideal design would include modular mounts to swap weapon types. === edit: Why do I always end up at the top of the second page? Ritual
I've heard these will be sold pre-painted when the game is finally launched.
witchfire
are they made of plastic ???? they look like plastic
green stuff
I figure that like the preview Confrontation minis they are primed, which may give that plastic effect.
