  1. I got a good chuckle out of that one . If I recall well, Stéphane coined up the name. And if Nathan still goes for the french pronounciation, it's : mal-ee-fo.
  2. Sorry, nothing comes to mind regarding french stories, culture, ... I think it's just a cliché to suggest posession.
  3. Fenryll doesn't have in house sculptors so quality may vary (both in design and actual sculpting). As for casting, they either do it themselves or commission it to the same people who did the Ilyad minis. Generally I find the castings very fidel to the original sculpts. However, since it's in resin you might get a few air-bubbles.
  4. You used to be able to do it (I added events like GDs in it a while back), and I bugged Nathan like hell for him to set up other calendars for work on Wyrd projects . But it's also an open door for spam. A solution to that is to give rights to some people (say the news monkeys) to be able to write in it and give the rest viewing rights. Just my two cents .
  5. Bon anniversaire Stéphane!!! Tu sais que j'ai toujours ton classeur . Fais moi signe quand tu voudras le récupérer .
  6. I used tin from a soda can for this one : http://www.coolminiornot.com/134737 You just have to be careful while cutting it as the edges are sharp.
  7. Thanks everybody . I celebrated it in the Alps with my nephew (we've got 2 days and a few years difference) and familly. Snow was great . @Peterdita : nowadays, I'm mostly busy redoing my appartement (electricity, walls, painting, floor, ...). It's taking a lot longer than initially planned, I hope this year will be the last of it
  8. Looks great for such a short amount of painting time! The only thing that realy strikes me as perfectable is the base; a bit of tidying up would have done wonders IMO.
  9. GW used to outsource the production of minis (Citadel, Marauder, ...). The owner of Citadel bought GW. So actually GW is Citadel, but they kept GW because it was more associated to the games and better known.
  10. Sorry for this slight threadomancy, but although I love the final effect of these new washes, I do have one warning to give : don't wait too long before using them once on the pallet. Mine tend to turn to a gel before drying completely which can be tricky to use and create rougher blends. Anybody else encounter this effect?
  11. Toutes nos félicitations Casey et Eric! Valérie & Cédric
  12. Not that I'm aware of . But all I know of this comes from the french "Usual Suspects", and they tend to get carried away on this type of subject .
  13. I thought they started out as having Darkslave as the name of the company, and when they heard that people were mistaking them for a porn company, they created a line called "Tale of War".
  14. I'm really impressed by your will to undertake such large projects !
  15. Cheers everybody ! I'm glad he made the trip safely and that he's to your liking Jim .
  16. @Moavoamoatu : Merci beaucoup . It's a fun mini to paint. It just needs more prepping than non-PPP .
  17. I've had the same experience as Anders : very few to no release agent -> never cleaned my minis (except resin). As for pre-painted minis. If the paint is thin and rather smooth, than just prime it. When prepping, I acetoned my Captain Vrachov (http://www.coolminiornot.com/192255); the plastic went a bit soft and puffed up a bit, but as it dried it went back to normal. If you plan on cleaning the mold lines, I'd suggest you wait till it's fully dry. Also, if the plastic is really soft, prime it first, than clean the mold lines and reprime after. The primer toughens the plastic a bit.
  18. Didn't Nathan tell you? Atlanta is Malifaux's real setting .
  19. It's a bit out of topic, but for those of you who'd like a good laugh on the gendra, I'd suggest : "Night of the Living Bread" . It's a short black and white film, but it sums up pretty well the story telling effects in such movies.
  20. I'll second that, and add in the second one plus Mario Kart and Guitare Hero III (if you like hard rock; and it's even better when you play at 2). Also, if you're more into sports, get Mario Striker Soccer : hilarious!!! One of the terrains is so windy, you have to avoid flying cows and tractors while trying to score a goal !
  21. Graphically, it looks grittier and more detailed than the first version. I wonder if they are going to keep the possibility to customize the colors and logos of the troups and if all the expansion armies will still be in it. And yes, the Tyranid would be a cool addition . On the site, they only mention PC. Do XBox games need a special Microsoft lisence to edit? Or maybe they don't want to go through the hassle of reprogramming the interface.
  22. Some of you are probably already aware of this, but Dawn of War 2 is in the making : http://www.dawnofwar2.com/
