  1. Very cool! Is that static grass on the bases? It seems fairly lengthy and looks really good!
  2. That's the last and final one. It was the first thing I sculpted and cast a hundred for sale on my own site back in 2005. I did a "space" one for Hasslefree and never got the green back nor any castings. This one I did for Reaper because people still wanted some and the first one I originally cast sold out several years ago. This one is a much cleaner sculpt than the first one and is kind of a little commemorative for the folks that asked me about it. I have other pirates to do, but that's the last one of her fer sure!
  3. Thanks - it's good to be back. I've been away from the hobby for a couple of years working on other projects. Now that they are wrapped up - I'm back to sculpting for good. I have a load more Andromedan and Illyrians where those came from.
  4. Here's some official paint jobs I did for the shop: Let me know your thoughts.

  6. Right now I'm working out of my head. The first four things are based on verbal descriptions Vicky gave me for what she wanted and I translated those into 3D. She has started to sketch a few details for the Aries figure but I have yet to scan them. I will try to post concepts online for most of the other figures, though when I have them. Here are a couple of very early shots of Pisces and Aries in progress. I have just finished the face on Aries before typing this.
  7. I've been considering that and it comes down to when I can get them sculpted and off to mold. Right now I'm about a month behind schedule on just about everything. Once I can get caught up, we may be able to adjust the schedule to allow for earlier releases. Cross your fingers.
  8. Sounds good enough to me! That's pretty typical of most fantasy/mythological races. Try finding a female orc (or dwarf) in literature. Very rare.
  9. This month we are pleased to bring you Tallah the Swordmaiden. This figure was sculpted based on a concept by Anne Foerster, paint goddess extraordinaire. Tallah is a fierce warrior of the frozen north lands. Her twin swords are her trademark in battle. She is $4.99 USD and comes with a 30mm round plastic slotted base. Visit the MKS Shoppe
  10. Yep. When the money is right. Wait 'til you can see the incubus I'm working on for Warlord. He will be much better than this monk thing. My favorites out of the batch are the elfses.
  11. I just think that it's super there is even yet another sculptor-owned line available. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.
  12. John Mannor seems to be a real person. Ron passed around the "green" for his Ettin figure at the big sculptor's workshop last week. It IS big and was made from Tamiya putty, therefore it was actually tan-yellow. John wasn't able to make it out to this sculptor meeting but Reaper is trying to arrange having him out maybe for ReaperCon in the summer. Oh - and I did these too:
  13. Sculptors only work from the concepts approved by the design department. The issue is with management. They would be better off making Exodites. But some shining spears with cold ones would do the trick. Eldar were cooler when they were pirates (before the craftworld fluff) but that was back in the Rogue Trader days. I say that with 2500 points work of painted Eldar crap already in my closet.
  14. Thanks guys! I'm glad you like it. I've really been itching to show this to everyone! I originally had referred to the figure as a Priestess but failed to come up with a suitable name. This is just my little unofficial ode to Edgar Rice Burroughs. I think you can read it for free here: Princess of Mars. There is also a movie in the works too.
  15. This month we are proud to release Theja Doris the Martian Princess. The figure won First Place in the GenCon 2006 Miniature Painting Competition category for Sculpted Green. This was the first year the contest featured a sculpting category. Painting goddess, multi-award winner, and all around cool chick Jennifer Haley has painted our studio model. Buy one here!
  16. A nice Sorceress, ZAU 004, will be available beginning of September. The complete miniature kit has 7 parts and a total height of 37 mm. The price will be Euro 11,50. http://www.freebooterminiatures.de/indexeng.html I like it. Simple but with lots of character.
  17. I will be. I sculpted a male elf thing for Reaper but it is currently in Limbo as to it's fate. I have some other male figures coming up. But my preference will always be females. Thanks for the feedback guys! It was great to meet you (Nathan) and Eric at the show! Thanks for the great figs, too! Gotta get painting for the Wyrd contest now!
  18. The anticipated August releases are now available! We have 060801 - Hesperus the Black Widow packed and ready to ship for $14.99 USD. Hesperus is the dark goddess of the underworld. Her worshippers both fear and revere her and her lesser creatures, the common spider. This multi-part model is scaled to fit in with other outer-planar type models and the torso was built over a 54mm sized armature. She covers an area 3" across when assembled. See the Shoppe page for a photo of the parts with a scale reference. Also available is the remainder of 060802 - The Greenmaiden for $4.99 USD. The Greenmaiden is the goddess of earth, nature and fertility. She is depicted in a stylized artistic interpretation symbolizing renewal as the leaves and vines break forth from the parched ground. She is cast in one piece and stands atop an integrated rocky outcropping for a base. This figure was sculpted as a promotional item and given out as "conswag" at GenCon 2006. The remaining castings are available here while supplies last! MKStudios Shoppe Larger pics are available in the Shoppe listing.
  19. Wooops!!! You're right! That was a whole different Ming-person! What was I thinking!?!? :vollkomme :der: :club: That chat idea sounds pretty cool!
  20. It's cool that there will be an official "rep" at the show! I ordered a couple of packs from JVS last week and I'm hoping they will arrive in time for me to pack along to the con. Sorry you won't be able to make it this time Ming-Hua, I was looking forward to talking shop with you more than we got a chance to at ReaperCon. @Wren - I dropped in on the meet a couple of years ago (before being a "real sculptor"), and it was very cool! Sandy gave out samples of brownstuff to everyone. It's definitely worth going to meet folks and see what they're working on. Hope to see you there.
  21. Yep, I saw these very figures in the Croc booth at GenCon a couple of years ago. I figured they would be out by now.
