Asami's Heavenly Design

Hi, question regarding Asami's Heavenly Design upgrade. It says that Asami can be placed in 6" not in base contact with terrain, markers or models. What does exactly mean not in base contact with terrain? She can't be placed touching piece of terrain with the edge of her base or she also cant be placed on the surfaces, e.g. on the roof of a building or on top surface of a platform? Can she be placed on flat piece of severe terrain?

I would say that she can't be placed on top of anything that is terrrrain, because then her base is touching terrain. So no you can't place her on a flat piece of severe terrain, because her base would be touching it.

Will the model physically be in contact with anything (non-model) that has a terrain trait? Then it is illegal to place it there. You can't place on roofs, not on flat severe terrain etc.

From the terrain rules:

Every piece of terrain has a base. A terrain’s base is often oddly shaped, if it has a physical base at all.

If terrain does not have a physical base, the players must agree on where that “base” ends. This is typically the outermost edge of the terrain’s geometry, such as with a building. 

On top of the terrain, inside its base, has to be base contact.

But, naturally, see the second paragraph.  If you're playing on a multi-level table, you probably don't want to consider the flat rooftops terrain.

I'd disagree. You would normally want to consider on top of a building as terrain. Most Vantage points are that sort of thing.
