Obey and Scheme Markers

Sholto

Question

In a recent game, my opponent used Huggy's version of Obey to make my Mech Rider shoot a model and used the trigger that allows the Mech Rider to place scheme markers. My opponent said that because he was controlling the Mech Rider for that Action, the scheme markers placed would be his scheme markers and that is how we played it.

Was this right?

I believe that when Huggy uses his Pseudo-Obey the model is considered friendly for the duration of the action. Should he perform an action that results in the placement of a scheme marker I'd argue the controlling player takes control of the Marker in question. Your model placed the marker but at the time he was friendly to the opponent and it was the actions of the opponent that caused the marker to be placed so I'd say you guys played it right.

Heed My Voice says that the target considers Huggy friendly for the duration of the Action. I think that is so that Huggy cannot use his Terrifying on them and then choose to have them fail (auto-Paralyse). I don't think it makes the target friendly to Huggy's crew, however, unless that is a general rule of Obey-type situations?
