  1. Can we add more than one picture per submission (as in different files)? Or if we want to show different angles and details we should do a collage and submit just a single file?
  2. Thanks! It will be a very small ceremony due to covid, but tbh, i prefer that than a massive party... About what category/es I'm entering... Wouldn't say that be kind of cheating? XD. Anyway, I think last year was just beginner's luck, It helped a lot that the rules for the entry where so specific, so creativity played a huge part, let's see this year if this formula also works
  3. 1st of all, here's my shelf (or shelves) of shame, i have to admit, could be worse: Still boxed: Built: mostly TTs, some ressers and the hodgepodge couple misaki's crew has been primed for more than a year now ๐Ÿ˜“ (I split the undiying encounter box with a friend back in m2e, and then i realised i needed a wanyudo too for minako, so i kitbashed it) built him just a couple of weeks ago and add a yasunori that's half built in a box and i'm too lazy to take it out for the pic ๐Ÿ˜ฌ And about my pledge for this month.... I'm definitely joining the rotten harve
  4. Very nice stuff ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ @Caedrusthis NMM gold is reaaaally good ๐Ÿ‘Œ @Boomstick the whole crew looks great! Congrats!
  5. I would add the "unbuilt" and even the "still boxed" categories to this showdown XD Btw, I finished this month pledge, the Desolation Engine for 10ss I got it back in m2e when there could be only one, if i get a 2nd one to play it on m3e i would not like it to look the same, so i might kitbash it with other wyrd minis and greenstuff ๐Ÿค” I usually like to work on the bases, but this one in particular is from microartstudio if i remember correctly
  6. That would work! ๐Ÿ™Œ My pledge for september will be a desolation engine, atm i have only 3 outcast minis unpainted, this and the hodgepodge effigy & emisary. I might finish them before going back to TTs and the tons of pending minis that i have ๐Ÿ˜ฌ @Caedrus even if you're not hosting you'll be still around, right? Btw, does anyone else have trouble seeing images since the forum UI update? ๐Ÿ˜
  7. This is super cool! i don t think there s such thing as too much time in a mini if the motivation is there ๐Ÿ˜
  8. Hi there! i finally finished (i actually have to fix some cracks on the sewer water, but other than that is done ๐Ÿคซ) the scenic base, it has been my โ€œsixtine chapelโ€. Iโ€™ve put a lot of effort here, from planning, to building and painting, and iโ€™m glad the whole thing worked out as I expected. SS wise i think it was about 30ss, could be 100 if you ask me XDDD Here are some pics (I took dozens of pics, I have a dormant thread with my stuff around the forum and iโ€™ll upload there more pics to avoid spamming thi
  9. The whole thing is coming together, i added textures, details and base coating, and iโ€™m very happy so far. I hope i donโ€™t mess up with the highlighting and shading!
  10. The blue roof is a bold decision & looks very cool. Well done! I cannot see how the 2 pieces merge, but to avoid the sliding, maybe using some sprue bits as stoppers? Shape them flat and texture them like the wood panels that are already all over the house, glue them inside or outside, whatever is more convenient/looks better, and paint them in the same shades of brown so they become part of the piece too
  11. This terrain piece is slow, but fun. the top bit is not glued yet, i ll do it after painting so it s easier to access the bottom part. Next step, add some details and add texture to the cork bits.
  12. hi there! some slow updates on the terrain piece, is a slow process, mostly bc of lack of practice, and not knowing the materials, but i have to say, that working with the extruded polystyrene is a pleasure, is kinda hard to carve the big holes and stuff, bc i don't know how to make it look neat , but for the small details is truly amazing how easy is to give shape. There's going to be a small piece right above the sewer bit to place more minis. Planning the whole thing was the hardest bit so far, the bases of my minis are very different one of the other and i'm trying to put them in th
  13. I'm still not sure what i'll do in august, since the Onis are over, i'll probably go back to finish my outcasts. I have a desolation engine and the effigy built and primed, and the emissary build pending. On the other hand, i had this project of doing a scenic base for all my "plague" crew, and in august I'll have more time than ever, and i just got my airbrush... so sounds like is the time for big, ambitious terrain pieces. I'm gonna pledge the terrain, and hopefully finish it this month. I'd consider it a 50ss Masterpiece (Caedrus named it, not me! ^^ ), i hope the result honors the
  14. Hi there!!! I finished the Obsidian Oni for this month! This adds up to 7ss x3 = 21 SS Been super busy this month so i went quite fast with those guys, not my best work, but i'm pretty happy with the time/result ratio Bonus: Oni Family shot That's my crew so far, might (or might not) grow in the future ^^
  15. Damn, I'm not very familiar with varnishes, but it doesn't sound like you did anything wrong, I've used the vallejo gloss varinsh several times, but never applied anything else on top. I'd say 40 mins is plenty ๐Ÿ˜• just thinkin out loud, but maybe the unthinned matt varnish?
  16. Marco is great! (And definitely an airbrush wizard) Will do, thanks!
  17. Hi there! Just a quick WiP update, it has been a weird month and almost didn't have time to paint until yesterday, when i managed to put the base paint & some highlights on the obsidian onis. Is it possible that those guys have a particular tiny face even for malifaux standards??? ๐Ÿค” @Caedrus & @Nikodemus impressive NMM skills on the Talos & samurai ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ In another painting related news, I'm finally getting myself an airbrush! Does any one have particular advice? or know good online resources to learn how to use it and more important, how to care for it
  18. Those prospectors look super cool ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ‘
  19. Hi there! This july is gonna be weird for work reasons, i hope i'll find the time and inspiration to paint. The victims this month will be the 3 obsidian oni, and with this I'll have finished my Asami crew ๐Ÿ‘ As for video reccomendations all of them from youtube, there's lots i like, but let's try not to repeat any of the previously mentioned 1- NJM marco frisoni: If you have 1 hour to spend, watch his "color theory" playlist. 2- Vince venturella: the "hobby cheating" guy, lovely explanations of hundreds of topics 3- Kujo Painting: very nice tutorials, some of them wit
  20. @Caedrus thanks for the nice words ^^. TBH Asami's mini was no way near any of my favourite sculpts (fun fact, i liked it more while painting it, i don't know why, something about the details i guess...), when i face one of those I try to think how to make the process more interesting, in this case the "forced motivation" was trying to give a spooky ghostly vibe in the face, and speed paint the fabric (I spent much more time in the tengu cloak than on asami's dress). I also experimented with the hair, the base color is dark blue and then washed with black, a lot, result: can't tell if it rea
  21. hello @GroundPounderX welcome to the forums ๐Ÿ™Œ First of all, nice job, this base is super cool, love the reds with the blues & the green leaves. Second, this thread is intended to push ourselves to paint some minis monthly, and share with other users while learning in the process. You pledge how many soulstones value in minis want to paint every month, and you should commit to it and share it here, for more detailed and better written info, check the 1st post in the thread So i'd say is not the wrong place to post this, plus i'd invite you to join the monthly challenge
  22. Done with Asami. Togheter with the tengus will make a total of 27ss for june.
  23. Finished the Tengu! (for a total of 12SS ) SInce it's an early finish for this month's pledge i'll try to do Asami herself too for june
