  1. I thought i might share some stuff i am working on, definitely not Malifaux or anything Wyrd, but related to the Base Challenge. Is not 100% finished, but I'm working on a 75mm mini from Big Child, and yesterday I worked on the base: The idea is to set up the guy in a mine under construction, and here's the guy double checking some blueprints
  2. How did I miss the painting competition anouncement!!! ๐Ÿ˜“. I love those challenges and how people go the extra mile with their submissions. @Caedrus can the competition submission be the may pledge? If so, my May pledge is a secret ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  3. welcome @LightningJuice very nice job on the hinamatsu, and killer bases for the titania crew, super them aproppiate ๐Ÿ‘ @Caedrus i really love those drowned @Brushgit as caedrus already pointed out, those belnds in papa loco are INSANE ๐ŸŽฉ
  4. Hi there! i managed to paint minako this weekend for 8SS. Used a nยบ1 brush, have been using it for a while, and the tip is a bit messed up, so at the end i'm glad i picked a mini with no eyes XD I spread the glue for the base with a toothpick, does it break the rules of the 1 brush challenge? So April pledge is complete, hopefully i might paint some more mali minis during the month, still don't know what
  5. Hi there! challenge accepted! I'll go back to TTs, and paint Minako Rei with a Nยบ1 brush ๐Ÿ‘
  6. @Boomstick amazing job on the tartan ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ @Brushgit you nailed the dogs fur colors, they look real ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  7. Hi there! i finished the Emissary! painting the guy and the trinkets in the baskets was a serious steady-hand test, i didn't do great, but i didn't have to correct many things after At the end i enjoyed it more that i thought i would.
  8. Thanks! i felt the same way, but I faced the mini as an exercise on textures, this motivated me to finally work on it. left the guy and all the knick-knacks for the end because i fear the moment to paint the face and the stuff in the baskets ๐Ÿ˜†
  9. First of all congrats to all of you who managed this month's challenge, i'm seeing very good results ๐Ÿ™Œ @Harlekin i think that your work with the mourner is amazing. I really like the clash between the dark model and the bright base. If anything the green on the hat is the only bit that seems out of place, only from close and still gives an interesting effect. From playing distance looks very good. On my side i managed to work a bit on the hodgepodge emissary, it's a truly beautiful mini, with lots of details, and different textures, a tricky pleasure to paint ^^ here's a coupl
  10. Hi there! I'll pledge the Hodgepodge Emissary for march. I'll skip the primary colors challenge, at least for the emissary, I'm not confident about the potential outcome XD. i might try it with some other mini, malifaux or not, because it's something i've wanting to do for a long time ^^
  11. Hi there! today i did 2 bone piles (12SS), i stuck to the february challenge rules, and built & painted them in one day: Here's the result: And some of the wips: It was a fun thing to do, the hardest part was to find a whole day when i could focus 100% on painting without getting in trouble
  12. I might try this with a bone pile which will suit my 6ss for my enforcer pledge ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  13. @bedjy all of this in 1 month is insane, specially seeing the customizations in the minis, loving the bases and sparks wrench ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ @Caedrus cool scheme, it totally works, very nice osl on the stalker. @Engorn super cool colorful paintjobs, also brilliant idea for the markers, genius๐Ÿ‘Œ
  14. Yesterday i finished my January pledge! 2 tiny guys for 4SS each witha total of 8SS The Hodgepodge Effigy: And the Kamaitachi: I wasn't very hyped about the Kamaitachi, but then I tried to paint it adding the texture myself, with tiny brushstrokes fro the hair, and just trying this i've never done before (bc i'm too lazy) made the whole process more interesting and enjoyable
  15. Hi there, a bit late for the feedback, but i hope is welcome nevertheless. I just want to add a couple of points to what has been already said, all of it very good advice. First point is that the key to paint a mini is contrast (NOT THE PAINTS, but the concept! ๐Ÿ˜† ) There's a lot of theory around better explained than what i'll mention here, but 101 is that you want to differenciate a lot the areas where the light hits from the areas that stay in the shadow. And the more obvious is this difference the more the mini (or some details in the mini) will pop. You can do that by going fr
  16. Yeah, looks totally doable, right? but the main problem is not the time, but the focus, or the lack of XD I know myself, and half way to the project i'll get bored and had 3 different ideas on which i'll want to start working ASAP, and while working on one of those ideas, i'll have a couple more, and then a cool instagram challenge will come across, and it's already october which means Rotten Harvest, and look! it's december and I only painted minako rei and the archers ยฏ\_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ
  17. Hi there! checking late, but 100% in for this year's challenge too!!! (i'll keep going with the enforcer level of 6SS @Caedrus ). For this month i'll pledge 2 small minis, the hodgepodge effigy, and the kamaitachi, fpr 4SS each. And for the hobby resolutions, mine are: 1- try to get skilled familiar with the airbrush 2- paint more bigger scale stuff, like busts & 75mm 3- and this one is a long shot, but I'd like to paint the entire last blossom keyword (i've only painted shang so far) Have a nice 2021 everyone! โค๏ธ
  18. Hi there! Done for the month with the obsidian statue (9 SS) I tried to keep it as much "obsidian black" as possible while also creating a color contrast going from blueish grays on the top highlights to red/orange on bottom fire OSL highlights. The images are so dark is quite hard to see the bottom OSL though... i might try to take pics with a lighter background and see if looks better. Next year there will be more and (hopefully) better ^^ And in case there's no chance to write here again in the next days: merry Xmas to everyone, and have a happy entrance to a less crazy
  19. This NMM is insane ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
  20. Hi there! I'll keep working on TTs versatiles, and will pledge the Obsidian Statue this month for 9ss. @Caedrus the badge idea is great, will work nice as an extra motivation push, let's see what the admins say ๐Ÿคž And about other ideas for the challenge, I enjoyed when there was a little bit more than just the minis, like sharing the shelves of shame, or the favorite painters... Each month anyone could suggest a topic to be shared in the next month's challenge. Could be anything, from favorite mini, terrain, paints brand, color, technique... And the host would decide which one of
  21. Hello there! I'm done with the dawn serpent (for 9ss), glad i finished it because i had the base done for a while now, and the non painted mini with the pretty base was an odd combo on the table XD After quite a lot of thought about the color scheme, I ended up going with something pretty much like the boxart... Also I recently got one of the super matt super saturated scale 75 reds and wanted to try it
  22. And here's the kitbash, I intend to use it as a Desolation Engine. I used an Adze, and a Moleman, added some bits and greenstuff A pic with his brother: And a couple of WiPs, always nice to see in kitbashes imho I got third in this category, right after @Caedrus who got 2nd, with a really funny kitbash! ๐Ÿ˜‰
  23. Well, since the results are oficially out, we can definitely post it this year I participated in 2 categories, diorama & kitbash. Here's my diorama entry, the 3 little piggies story revisited. the pie machine is made from scratch with plasticard and some bits, and the pies are greenstuff, the sign is printed and weathered, no way i can handwrite those neat letters ๐Ÿ˜
  24. Nice! congrats to everyone! And thanks to wyrd for organizing it, and to @Kimberly for the patience and effort! A bit biased here, but special congrats to the MHGB winners, those were super cool entries ๐Ÿ‘Œ
  25. Hi there, since the voting is over (even though the results are not published yet) I'd say it's ok to post here the rotten harvest entries, right???
