Just found out The midnight stalker doesn't have the Infamous keyword anymore but still has the "showboating" ability, i don't know how to feel about that. maybe a misprint?

Is showboating printed on other non-infamous models? could be an indicator if it's a misprint.

ultimately showboating might not be exclusive to infamous models

Not sure if the was in the latest Beta file, Georgy & Olafs "Who runs gremlin town" negative effect is no longer on a trigger and can always occur.

yes, it was that way in the latest Iteration of the closed beta. which sucks, because since Georgy and/or Olaf are Size3 and ist hard to block LoS

  3. I see, thanks for the clarification. I guess you Guildies should playtest it then and Point out how bad it is

Closed Beta proved that battlereports are best for steering towards certain changes

  4. So I am neither Guild nor Resser Player. Can you explain to me, why this is bad?

Is it op? or is it weaker than it used to be?

I mean, this is not about the Keyword "Zombie" but the model named "Mindless Zombie"

  5. I was just thinking, maybe we could just write down things that seemed peculiar or otherwise worth mentioning:

    - Burt Jebsens "Sic Em" trigger is empty right now

    - Merris Lacroix "Bombs Away" is an attack Action now?

    - Old Majors Ate Everyones Food is empty

    - Mc Tavish lost his first name

    - Ill omens is a plus+2 right now. does it stack so playing mah and trixie does give you +4?

    - Wongs Fzzzap starts with "this Action places two shockwave markers instead of one". ok cool, why don't you just say "place two shockwave markers" ?

Anyone know traditionally what time they put stuff up? My refresh button is getting tired.

you have to Keep in mind that it's not just about putting stuff up. I suppose there will be an announcement on the Website, in the Forums and everyone has to be ready @ Wyrd to react accordingly.

Also, what @trikk said. It's 7 am for them. Let them have their coffee first ;)

    Good luck with the beta!

I am not certain I'll be able to play during the next few months due to personal life happening but I will read things carefully.

I think that it would be beneficial if people that have been in the closed beta could give contradictory insights about things that people will complain about based on theoryfaux (we know how it usually happens :D).

Playing stuff and reading stuff is very different, especially with a new corpus of rules.

yes. so what I can tell from participating in the beta very activly in the first two months: you have to Play it. Just theoryfauxing is not enough. The best Thing you can do if something Looks fishy on paper is playing the particular model as much as possible. Repetition is key to gather good data.

We're going to need a way more Drunken Master action pose alt for Brewmaster.

Do we though? I feel, from the Fluff-Stories, he usually seems to be pretty calm and collected while he is making everyone else drunk. I think the Moonshinobi and fermented River Monks capture the drunken master style perfectly while the Brewmaster, to me, is supposed to be like... Snoop Dogg. Constantly intoxicated but chill.

He is the one handing out the booze (blunts) and enjoying everyone else being under the influence

  9. I can see where @yool1981 is coming from.

The way this whole thing was handled makes me feel uneasy. As I said before, I enjoyed every second of the beta and I am positive about M3E.

However, finding out that Masons departure was on Wyrd and that the process was not very amicable (this is Information from reddit), leaves a bitter taste.

I have always felt very good in the Hands of wyrd. Unlike with other companies I, as a customer, always felt like Wyrd was doing it for the People. For us. And I still feel that way.

But I also always felt that way about Mason. I liked his Approach on the beta and I found him very likable in the interview with schemes&stones.

So now hearing that mommy and daddy had a fight, makes me wonder where I'll end up.

But of Course, we as customers have absolutley no Claim on any Information about this.

Also do you think the changes to summoning will hurt?.

I think that is up to you, to be honest. I said it before in the Forums: if you go into m3e thinking "oh m2e was just so great! I'll compare averything to m2e!" the changes will hurt, yes.

If you go into m3e with a fresh mindset and try not to apply m2e-paradigms, the changes won't hurt.

m3e is not a Balance patch. so saying the changes to summoning hurt or do not hurt Ulix is not really possible in my opinion, because Ulix himself will be a whole new Thing.

but you do kindof have to admit that that this is the second big consumer confidence wammy we've been hit with so far with this edition.

as a Gremlin Player I cannot agree. M2E-Emissary was not playable in my opinion, or at least not very well. We don't know if M3E-Emissary will be any good, but from my perspective as a consumer and from what Infos we find on this page, the opportunity to Play a 10SS-Enforcer for the cost of a 4+2SS-Enforcer alone seems to be worth it. As a consumer, this feels reassuring and good.

Old avatars sculpts used as emissary proxies make much less sense now. Shame. Is this the final blow for them?

they neither made sense before. The Old Nicodem Avatar Walking side by side with Nicodem?

also I'd like to Quote Question 12 from the official wyrd M3E-FAQ:

    Quote

    12. Will rules for Avatars be in M3E?
No, Avatars have been removed from Malifaux by story events.

Why bother when I can pick up most other enforcers for 15 dollars or so? I didn't see anything on carrion's card that blew me away.

Other 10-SoulStone-Enforces cannot emerge from a 4+2 Soulstone Enforcer.

    Also what @santaclaws01 said.

Also, if you make a 40-Dollars Enforcer stronger than cheaper enforcers (while costing the same in-game ressources), just because they are more expensive, you pretty much end up with the pay-to-win problematic. I think the monetary value of a miniature should correlate to its size and Details etc. and not its competitiveness.

Allow me to be the Devil's Advocate.

Terrifying is now what Manipulative used to be. Definitely a weaker ability...I realize Paralyzed is gone (sad face), so some changed needed to be made, but overall is a weaker risk/reward thing (I wonder what happened to Manipulative...). I like more high risk/high reward tactics - it makes the game less predictable and more entertaining. Now it feels like "oh, I failed - not a big deal", which is hardly a threat, more an annoyance.

Also, the change to Misery is pretty bad. This does not "preserve the feel" at all - playing Pandora is going to feel a lot different if you remove the option of papercut death which was one of her signature feats. She already lost her other signature feat - Paralyze. LOL.
A single damage which can occur normally up to 6 times (cards in hand) is not really "punishing". Most of the times the enemy model will be either further away (it's 4", used to be 6") or have enough health to completely not care about this ability, and cheat as he pleases. And no, it's not "hard to get too upset over the change", it's actually really easy if you are a Pandora player. Of course it makes people playing against her happy, but this to me just feels like watering things down because the opponent couldn't handle them. But I understand the new direction for this game is simplification, and appealing to new blood, who perhaps doesn't want to work that hard to solve a problem. It's a shame - the risk is that the game will feel more dull for expert players.

Overall I'm happy Carver is now a playable character, and he's not a bad model at all, just not that badass, as @Jesy Blue mentioned. @WWHSD The Wp duels seems kinda fundamental, but it has a stat of 5 which is mediocre. So passing that means he's less impressive; of course, the crew might do this job for him, but that requires a bit of a setup and it detracts from him being able to operate well independently. The attack is good of course but I'd rather have min damage 3 without relying on a trigger, as all decent beaters, especially at that points cost. I understand overall power level is going down and min damage 2 is now mainstream - again, this is a pity - so maybe that's acceptable now. Also, engagement range is 1" (again this seems now mainstream), Execute only costs a single card...it's like, every single aspect of the game has been toned down. It's a bit sad. For a comparison, a M2E Executioner is 1 SS cheaper and is way more threatening.

I'm a big fan of Wyrd and I love Malifaux a lot, but in all honesty, so far I'm quite disappointed but what I have seen.

You need to shift away from M2E-Paradigms. Once you stop comparing M3E rules to M2E rules you'll have a better time enjoying M3E.

So basically I agree with what @WWHSD said

Sorry about misleading you, I wrote this on mobile a bit on a rush. What I meant by news was actually activity in this forum and the community in general.

I think its selfish to subscribe to the beta just to read info about the upcoming game if I don't plan to actively provide meaningful feedback. It feels wrong to me to know I might be taking someone else's place and that someone could be doing a much better job than me testing it.

well yes, if you don't want to participate, the beta is not the right place.

Thing is: the M2E-bayou parts of the Forum have never been a very active place besides nagging about how weak Rooster Riders have become or why Stuffed piglets are 3SS or numerous wishlisting threads which (to me! personal opinion!) are highly redundant.

I agree that there needs to be an active culture of battlereports, discussions on how to use certain models/lists/schemes. BUT that's actually a lot of work, especially the part with the battlereports.

I hope once the final M3E goes live the Bayou-Dwellers will gather, pop some moonshine kegs and start healthy discussions! :)

but this total lack of news

well it's a closed beta. there won't be any News anytime soon I suppose, because it's literally not possible to give any News right now. everything is in beta, almost nothing is set in Stone and everything that is set in stone has already been stated by wyrd. (on the Website for M3E)

if you want to know more about the beta I guess you should just apply for it. I'm not sure if wyrd takes applications right now though

  17. What everyone else said.

Husbandry is so obligatory, the could've just printed it on his Card tbh.

as for later turns I had great results with the Hunting-Bow shot in the rear on the Sow.

Also: I think Ulix is one of the most fun and most thematic Masters in the game. I hope you enjoy him as much as I do :)

BTW im curious will tanuki and fermented river monks stay with TRI-CHI keyword.

I certainly hope so. I love the Tanuki Models and would like to add them to my brewmaster in the future.

  19. In my opinion, even before additional Crew members, you Need Ophelias Wave5-Upgrades Metal-Lined Coat and Useless Junk.

They provide her and the Kin with lots of usefull movement-, scheeming and healing synergies .

If having 2 Masters in one crew is by no means overly powerful against a crew with just 1 Master, I fail to see how the game has become anything but simpler and more boring, compared to the best game I've ever played, which is what we have now.

I totally agree with the last part. M2E is the best game I have ever playerd. But maybe M3E will be even better? As of now we can just  speculate.

So I'd rather be hopeful than pessimistic.

Regarding 2 Masters: yeh... to me this seems like Overkill as well. But I think wyrd will manage to make it work
