  1. Thank you so much for the comment and the detailed advice! I felt the same thing you noticed on the back of the model as well (and the back of the red haired one is my favorite overall product on the models as well). The issue I am juggling now is my range of paints vs the new models I want to buy. I have to budget my money, and it's hard to save on models to buy more paint... but then not have enough to paint. But I am slowly building up my collection of paints as well and I think that may help with my ability to put that distance in there. I say this because, my reds and oranges are my most extensive sets of paints. Blue I only have two of at the moment, and I am still learning how to mix without creating inconsistent colors. That said, thank you again and I will look into those things and keep working to deepen the contrast.
  2. Thanks for the comment and the compliments! I tried to make the gold necklaces the one piece that tied them all together, and I did want that to pop a bit more. Glad it worked!
  3. I'm new to mini painting and war games, but I'm really starting to love the hobby. I wanted to start posting pics of my stuff to get critiques or ideas to take my work to the next level, so I've created a gallery with my latest minis in it and will post any new ones I do from now on. The link is here: **If it's better to link the pics instead, let me know... not 100% sure of the etiquette
  4. From the album: Putting Paint to Plastic

I had a hard time getting the tiger on hammer man correct, so I decided to obscure it. Next time something like that comes up I'll likely bury it in green stuff. The crouching two I patterned after characters from the Japanese anime "Rurouni Kenshin" Bonus geek points if you can guess who they are meant to be....
  5. That is an excellent point. I have been proxying my Sensei Yu with a 30mm Yoda model I have because I don't want Shen Long's crew box. I change my vote to: 1- Alt Sensei Yu (... how about a David Carradine version - that's a joke) 2 - Illuminated 2- Asian - or female - pathfinde
  6. I feel like they sold this model during the Easter Sale this year as well.
  7. Alt Ototo Asian looking Pathfinder ILLUMINATED! Maybe a more TT leaning version
  8. I'm throwing my vote in for Lilith. Love her. Hate her model. I've painted it four times and I hated every iteration. I'd love to see a more demonic-vampire queen-ish alternate.
  9. Female Executioner Watcher! Please god! Maybe even two of them! or 10.
  10. Thanks! Also, random add on question. The Waldgeist's trees go away if it 'moves'. Would Lilith's Tangle Shadows count as them 'moving'? I ask because I know 'move' 'push' and 'place' all have different stipulations.
  11. Noob question. The Waldgeist's 0 action, Germinate, summons up two 50mm tree markers that are - ht5, severe, soft cover terrain. Lilith, when using Beckon Malifaux, can use her 0 to summon up two 50mm illusionary forest markers that are - ht4, dense, severe, soft cover terrain. In the example below, if I understand this correctly (and I set this up so that NEITHER Lilith, nor the Waldgeist are actually touching their markers, thus they are 'outside' of their respective forests) the Guild Guard opposite Lilith's Illusionary Forest CANNOT draw line of sight to her because she's on the opposite side of dense terrain. However, the Guild Guard opposite the Waldgeist can draw line of sight to it because the germinate markers are NOT dense, thus the only benefit at that point is the soft cover trait (as he's still within 1"). Is that correct?
  12. I'll send you a nice big flag for your fort if you dig mine out first Haha! Happy fort building. We're all waiting for pictures of said monstrosity (...well, that and our plastic )
  13. @Kimberly, Thank you so much for responding to my contact request, and sorry I sent it off at such a bad time! I fully understand if the Grootslang model is $30 considering the reported size. This was the email I received though: This is more to prove I'm not crazy than anything I am more than willing to pay the $30 though, was just surprised a bit. Thank you again for the contact, Wyrd customer service is top notch! Keep being awesome and have fun at Gen Con!
  14. I had this problem when I first started playing too. Every board was much too sparse terrain wise and it always ended up really unbalanced. I went and built a kaka load of paper craft terrain, made a river and a graveyard, and now it's like a big maze. Much more fun that way, IMO.
  15. Very interesting, and it's given me several things to think about. I bought the Latigo Posse mainly to get Frank (and I am one of those weird guys that only runs female masters, so Perdita was inevitable) because I figured out REAL quick how fragile Sam is. Frank was always in Sonnia's list for me, but, as I said before, I felt like I was holding him back by needing to drag her around and not move to far from her. The way I play (read: stupidly) He's just a taxi most of the time and doesn't accomplish much other than keeping her buffed. This helps her not get hit quite as much, but it also means he's not making much of his AP other than - move, pull, *maybe shoot once. That, and I love using Enfrante with finesse on beaters... it's just fun. As to the watchers.... I have resisted Hoffman's box, and will continue to, because he holds no interest for me (and he's not female...) That said, I love the idea of the hunters (they're basically ravage from transformers!), the guardian seems useful, and obviously the watcher is really good for both Perdita and Sonnia. Even so, I have so many other Malifaux things I really want, and I feel like this would be one of those... "well, I guess I need this stuff" purchases. Being in Japan too means I can't ebay the things easily or find a second hand shop that might sell individuals of them. So for now I'm stuck with trying to find good proxies for the model. Any advice? Even then, I think two would be my limit... I'd definitely take the child. Thank you for response though, it has turned me back to the idea of using Frank with Sonnia. This leads me to a different question.... but I'll post that in another topic.
  16. I know all about Hermanos, but my understanding is it would work something like: Frank moves about 5 to 5 and a half inches (as far as he can go and still be within 5" of Sonnia. He zeroes and she gets pulled into base. Now he has one AP left, and he can't move more than 2". So, hopefully, you've moved somewhere that he can shoot at something with the first move, but if not, he either goes defensive, or moves a max of 2". I understand from better players (as I am of the worser persuasion) that you only need the buff for a round or two, and by that time everything should be neutered to the point of it being superfluous, but I feel like it keeps him from hopping forward to go cut something up... which is what I really want him to do.... PS - Thanks for rubbing it in...
