  1. Well, a friend of mine and me are trying to use her a lot, but it is not THAT easy with gremlins. Willowisp is an auto include! Here are some nice combinations i used with her: - Sammy LaCroix getting every condition you want on the doll and her linked victim, denying walks\charges or forcing horror duels or both at the same time, which looks the model in place and forces duels! Also, drawing cards with her and crystal ball is nice and she can carry an upgrade for zoraida -McTavish: very good dmg, good obey target, nice synergies with swampfiends. Love him with her and he can provide cover for her. Those are my main thoughts and models i use.
  2. This is an honest question and i don`t want to undermine any of your theorycrafting, but did you actually try it? The problem i see is a very wide spread crew and the option to use pushes with a very large kill threat range. I saw a vik player trying to counter it but the positioning was problematic. It sounds not well-rounded and of course some crews may counter it, but alphastriking and just sending models in, is not a real solution. Trust me, i saw 4 games now with different strategies. Dreamer got devastated even before he could rech them. Viks died to lazarus easily while hitting a peasant blasting off from or in this case a RJ on dmg. I saw reva getting killed my snipers, because of range. It is not as easy as i thought it would be tbh :) Armor is a good way though i think.
  3. Ah, thanks for the corrections. Didn`t play the crew for a loooong time. The first one was resolved incorrectly then. The 2nd one wasn`t scored at all, because he had no models left, but thanks for clearance! I was just typing it and we didn`t bother because it was pretty clear anyway. Thanks
  4. Just to revive this thread again and to give you something to smirk about i had to face hamelin yesterday with a bunch of his fellow rats and some stolen kids. Strat: Extraction, but GG18 Schemes like: Show of Force, Punish the weak, search the ruins, dig their graves and other things no one of us took :D. I went with punish and show, he chose search and dig. It was a game to give my opponent a better feeling of what his crew can do and prepare him for the upcoming tournament, which is why we chose extraction, so he could concetrate on his Master and how to play him well. His crew: Hamelin: Piper, Black Pits, another upgrade Nix: With the fast upgrade Rusty Alyce Big Jake Killjoy Rat My crew: Ironsides: Veteran Fighter, Union President, Warding Runes Joss: Warding Runes Amina Naidu 3x Ox mages without regen upgrade Steam Fitter Electrical Creation Ironsides was pretty much irgnored, because my opponent knew that she would be a desaster to take down with warding runes and the ability to ignore conditions from enemies, while having 6 Stones to use for prevention and armor and reinforced armor. Se, he decided very early to ignore her completely. Having the black pits upgrade was very annoying and some of my models were effected by those blighted conditions very early. So turn 1: Turn 1 i pushed my ox mages with another ox mage around dealing 1 dmg to each of them and getting them into position, while the steamfitter picked up a 12 and reinforced ironsides with armor and the sheet armor. Electrical creation activated and damaged Joss, Amina and the 3rd ox mage. On his side he "lured" a ox mage forward into a pit and set up his killjoy delivery for turn 2, because i gave him no opening. My ox mages casted furiously on hamelin, but only taking 2-3 Stones away from him and 2 dmg. Ironsides had to go forward and protect the mages with her challene, without doing any further actions. Amina and Joss went into position. After findoing out which one was the "bad" ox mage that denied conditions, he focused him and he got blighted 4 pretty early in the game. Rusty alice tried to shoot him, but he went into cover and amina protected him further more with a little bit of damage on her. No scores. Turn 2: Turn 2 i went full bonkers and charged into hamelin with ironsides to hit him without big succes (small mistake here was, that i wasn`t able to end a charge near hamelin, which would have resulted in 1 less attack, we both overlooked, but learned), my adrenalin was at 3 after successfully hitting him once with a trigger and challenging everyone around them. Hamelin took another 2 wounds. He went for some stolen to protect him and give him more options to spread the blight. After softening up his Nix i was able to finish him off. Ox Mages were superb with Ca actions and furious spellcasting against him. But before i was able to take Nix out he decided to give his malifaux rat fast and ran 15' to a position where he could deliver killjoy. I immediately activated Amina Naidu and filed a Suit against this serial killer, which was successfully taken in and killjoy had no opportunity to attack anyone else except for my master, which he overlooked (and me also) which resulted in him charging a malifaux rat he was unable to kill with a 1 and a BJ, which was pretty nice for him. I positioned joss again (and pretty stupidly) outside of the show of force zone. Hamelin got more rats and had 3 stolen around at the end of the turn. My electrical creation was just running around, never close to accomplish anything else, than dealing damage to the own crew for ironsides Aura. We both scored Extraction. Steamfitter ran along and Amina was backing up the ox mages. Both score extraction. Turn 3: I won initiative and immediately went for Amina using her 0 against Big Jake, who was stand atop and scoring extraction on his own. Amina managed to make him a peon and thus killing his value for extraction, while also enabling me the option to score more punish. (TIP: If you can go for punish the weak and have the chance to make an enemy a peon which you want to kill any way, GO FOR IT! Amina is GREAT atpunishing the weak, even though she helps the workers out in court ^^). Amina took a step back and filed another suit against Killjoy with a 13 of books in hand but...black jokered it...which was devastating for me!. Killjoy immediately charged amina, she took 4 damage, prevented 2 and was pushed away from him. Killjoy followed with a walk and engaged another ox mage with it. Ironsides returned the favour, activated (4 Adrenalin) and took another shot of 4 more adrenaline from enemies (8 adrenalin). We had some spectators and one was on the way to go but wanted to see how this would turn out against a stolen protected hamelin. My opponent was pretty sure that hamelin would survive this beating and grinned, while i grinned because i knew i was PUMPED with adrenalin. So, the beating began. First attack failed, 2nd hit with another shot of adrenaline [9], no triggers. Third attack hit and i spend a stone to get the trigger. 2 damage and a follow-up uppercut [7]. Was on melee 8, so i hit. Hamelin took another 4 damage and prevented 1. Trigger to attack again [5]. Hit with soul stoned trigger to attack again [3]. Hamelin had to use 1 stolen to heal up again. I hit again with my uppercut for another 5. Another Stolen gone. Used the trigger to attack again and managed to deal another 4 damage on him. He took a look if the 3rd stolen was in range, but wasn`t. So he gathered up his bits and died to a adrenalin pumped ironsides which released a flurry of attacks. Myopponent was pretty impressed and said "I didn`t expect that to happen to be honest." It was very, very close and i was lucky enough to trade enough blows to kill him. My back-up plan was joss to charge in, who was in position and ready to rescue the day, but with 3 min and medium damage, it was 2 hits for every stolen healing hamelin. Joss took out the last stolen which paralyzed Amina Naidu. He activated rusty alyce and attacked the blood ward mage with her pistol. Amina always took damage to give her another -flip, which was successful and saved the heavily blighted ox mage on 1 Wd. He managed to kill my oxmage with the last stolen, because amina was on 1 Wd and couldn`t give him the -flip. This opened all of my models up for blighted and it was spreading like HELL! Having Challenge up helped A LOT! and saved me a lot of good cards, whilemy opponent had 1 less AP or 1 less high card. I LOVE challenge on ironsides! Scores: 1 for punish, 1 for extraction - opponent none 3-1 for Ironsides Turn 4: Ironsides used her other 0 to be placed close to rusty alyce and began with another beating on her which resulted in a red joker on damage after 2 succesfull hits and cleared her off the board. Maybe it would have been better to use "are you looking at me" for this purpose, but i was in an adrenalin rush. Joss charged into killjoy and gave him quite a beating, which left him at 3 Wds. Killjoy took revenge on Amina and killed her off with 1 attack, while 1 oxmage ran away. Big Jake took a "diving charge" not a real one but flying from atop on joss was pretty divy in our opinion and rammed his axe into joss`s back with a red joker cheated on damage and getting him to 1 Wd. The 2nd attack finished him off and denied me further points for show of force. The Ox Mage took a furious casting and managed to soften up killjoy again for the fitter to sweep him off the board. Scoring: 1 for extraction, 1 for punish for Ironsides, none for my opp. 5-1 Turn 5: Now that Big Jake was unable to come back and count for the Strat, i immediately charged him and took him down. Another PEON killed. Scoring: 1 for punish, 1 Extraction Final Score 7 - 1 I hope pretty much that i recalled everything as detailed as possible and didn`t miss anything. We had TONS of fun and were laughing nearly all game long ^^. It was just hilarious and we exchanged some strats and tips, so he was prepared for the upcoming tournament. Except for doing 1-2 mistakes we both overlooked it was a very clean, fair and nice game. Inmidst of the game i forgot my 2nd scheme and didn`t announce it, which is why i do it know in retrospective. I hope my opponent will understand it :). Always nice to play against this opponent :).   6. And here we go with another small Battle Report for todays game: Strat: Ours! Schemes: Punish the Weak, Hold up their forces (opp and me), show of force (me), search the ruins (opp), public demonstration My Opponents crew: Kaeris with the card draw upgrade Rail Golem with imbued protection firestarter with imbued energies 2x gunsmiths 1x eissary with kaeris upgrade eternal flame My crew: McCabe with loot bag, strangemetal shirt, cloak of invisibility Kamaitachi Low River Monk Terracotta Warrior Emissary with exploration upgrade Genbu with smoke grenades Dawn Serpent Round 1: I got a terrible hand and chose to deploy first in the map, because i don`t care setting up first, while i can choose the side and with all those pushes i am pretty mobile. We activated each others minions and went to play the positioning game. Genbu got attacked by the firestarter and redirected the damage to the terracotta to prevent further dmg. Still he had burning 3. My opponent drew a lot of cards with the burning extinguisher. My dawn serpent got black flashed and equipped with the badge to have nimble, fast, reactivate. McCabe threw some upgrades around while the emissary got the glowing sabre after deployment. My opponent then decided to hit the locomotion and went all the way from his deployment zone into my minions and locomotion attacked my dawn serpent. I hit the black joker and can`t do anything against it. He hity my dawn serpent several times and brought it down to hard to kill with some burning. I activated the serpent, called unto chis and restored 5 Wds. Then attacked with 3 attacks, leaving him at 4 dmg that came through and poison 8 or something like that. Reactivated and healed up again, attacked without any luck on my turn. He scored for hold up their Forces: 0-1 Turn 2: I got the initiative and decided it was time for genbu to put an end to the rail golem. Genbu charged and attacked the railgolem with 2 severes in hand. First attack hit for severe, 2nd missed and last one hit with minimum dmg which was exactly the one he had left, but forgetting he had imbued protection which he discarded to prevent 2 dmg and surviving my beating. He activated the rail golem and brought my serpent again down to hard to kill and pushed me 4' away from McCabe. I decided to activate my serpent and nimbled back again, trying to heal up and hitting the black joker again. I then could evade his disengaging strike and went a bit back to be out of the battle. Immediately shot into the engagement and hit my genbu with a moderate to kill the railgolem with the blast dmg. Genbu taking 2 damage in the process. He shot my genbu with smokes and cover without any success and i used McCabe to get back the upgrade, healing my serpent with kamaitachi and drawing a card. Loot bagged into elixier of life and healing the serpent, giving her reactivate and pushing her forward again. The Elixier found its way also to the serpent, also where an additional 2 Wds at the reactivate would heal her even more. After some more pushing and giving fast to the serpent again, i positioned her to be able to attack into 1 gunsmith, which was killed by a red joker on dmg and another attack. Both scored for Ours, i scored show of force with genbu in middle: 1-2 Turn 3: I won initiative and decided to let him go first. He activated his firestarter got reckless and tried to flame up my genbu and other stuff around. Not with much success because he had also the mold on him from the terracotta. I let 1 attack through which gave him burning and negated most of the damage. I responded with an activation of the emissary and pushing genbu closer and giving him fast, while he tried to shoot my dawn serpent which was burning from another effect. He shot the dawn serpent down again to hard to kill. Genbu cleared the firestarter extremely fast while McCabe healed the serpent up again, just doing his support job and not attacking at all! The dawn serpent was burning again and healed up before getting into position to attack kaeris again (before i hit her with a blast from the rj on the gunsmith). At this point my opponent decided that having lost almost 20 points where i didn`t lose a single model was not the way he can win the game any more and conceded. It was a very nice game and i learned a lot from it: - Low River monks without the healing upgrade are still okay, but no charge in the melee makes condition removal pretty hard sometimes. Didn`t use him at all with his removal :). - Kamaitachi is just the totem i always want to have! Heal and cards together with another ppush is just AWESOME! Took every ability and trick i could get! Awesome model! - Emissary: Well, it`s just what you would expect and the push and fast is a great trick to clear a lot of situation. I wish i could give him more movement, because i want to do so much with him, but have not a lot of AP. - Genbu: With all those heals and options to push him, he is nearly always where he needs to be and giving him fast makes it ridiculous to charge something :). - Terracotta: This one is pure gold. Changing upgrades was not necessary in this game, but the option is a great thing to have. Th mold itself is okay, but the psychological aspect of being able to take a hard hit completely away from a model makes it extremely difficult for the opponent to decide whether to attack at all or hit hard. Small but pletiful hits could change that. - McCabe was great at everything and i just LOVE LOVE LOVE the Loot Bag! This is just a great upgrade and with kamaitachi you are like throwing upgrades around. The option to switch everything around and adapt to the situation is exactly what i was looking for in a master. He is SUPER versatile and i really had fun figuring out how to solve the puzzles my opponent gave me. - Dawn Serpent: This thing was the MVP of the game! I had a lot of discussion with other people if you would include the serpent or a jorogumo and i got introduced to the serpent by playing Marcus, so i know how to use her. In this case there were many situations where i was so, so happy to have her flying around and not being bound by any models or terrain. A jorogumo wouldn`t have made the job as good. Also, the melee attack of jorogumo is not as good as the serpents. Counterspell came also in handy and was very nice to have. Jorogumos must kill something to heal up, which can be tricky with them. The serpent just used her 0 two times with reactivate and healed up totally! So many casts that supported her chi, it was kinda ridiculous. I think the serpent really earned her place. What i love about the serpent is the shoot with optional burning and blasts! Otherwise the crew could lack this Sh-range a little bit and a burning jorogumo would have been shot down by the gunsmiths, before he could have attacked to heal. So, i still rate her much over jorogumos :). Fun fact: The serpent soaked over 29+ damage and was brought down to htk a lot of times, before healing her up again. I hope you like the report and the insight i sahre :). Maybe you got some experience with other models :). The next model i would like to explore is the lone swordsman with Master Queeg :).

  8. Got my first game in and here is a little conclusion of what i found out. I played the following list: McCabe - Loot Bag, Strangemetal Shirt. Clowing Saber Kamaitachi Shadow Emissary - conflux of exploration Dawn serpent Yamaziko - recalled training I will just comment every single model on its own and wrap up, what i learned. McCabe - I played him pretty defensively and just used him for some rounds to hit and run with his netgun forcing duels on my opponent and forcing her (it was my gf) to use her cards for this TN with the Pulse effect. I had an void wretch at the opposing fron with lead to activating mccabe early and use the low defense to force those duels. I think i could go more agressive with him and make use of his melee attack to kill some models, but was afraid to lose him and his upgrades. I played a very upgrade heavy crew and kamaitachi gets worse without McCabe. The pushes were pure gold and all those options were exactly what i was looking for in a versatile master. The Loot bag feels like cheating and is just awesome to adapt and make a profit of 1 soulstone when exchanging cheap for expensive upgrades. Kamaitachi - Oh boy, i love this model. Extra card draw, option to heal, movement tricks. This little guy is extremely nice and a good option to put up the strangemetal shirt behind the big models and beaters. I think it will take a lot of time to pick luna instead of kamaitachi. ^^ Also love the model Shadow Emissary - Well...not much to say here. A free upgrade, a good cast, the ability to give a minion fast and push it further...just awesome with McCabe. I think i could use it more offensively, but this one is a very good support model and a nice solution for incorporeal models, which is a very good mechanic against Ten Thunders, because we lack a lot of cast models and have plenty of Ml and Sh. Dawn Serpent - This thing is CRAAAAAZY! i had my first experiences with this model with marcus and with alpha, but oh boy! This thing just excells with McCabe. Having a nimble, fast, reactivated model that got pushed 2 times and is able to blast on a good range ist crazy good. What it puts over the edge is the flight ability and the counterspell built in with a 0 action that normally heals at least 3-4 Wds. The melee isn`t bad either and with the option to switch to a sabre is also great. McCabe makes it much easier to deal with h2k targets and especially against icorporeal models, which can give you a hard time. It didn`t come to this situation, but if an opponent really wants to kill this model, he has to go through a LOT of work. Just imagine the opponent decides to put it down in a full 50Stone match. We have the dawn serpent to heal up with a 0 TWO times with reactivate, we got a low river monk healing her, we got the option of mccabe with kamaitachi to give a slight heal and push, we got the elixier of life to heal it and THEN give her regen +2 (TWO times with reactivate). This is so much heal combined with h2k is just a pain for the opponent! I love this model especially because of her pretty high stats in the attack 7Sh is just sweet when you got the option to blast and give out burning. Yamaziko - This was a last second switch out because i wanted to play with terracotta (just imagine the blessing of the terra on dawn serpent also °_O...it gets silly here ^^). But in this case i didn`t have many synergies so i decided to go with Yamaziko and i was impressed. She hits hard, she is nimble and the (2) action can be devestating for the opponent and rend their hand empty! WP is high, but the low defense is really hard to compensate. Without armor she is going down FAST! The brace yari did its job very nicely, but maybe yamaziko has a better place in a mei feng crew. It is a nice model and i really like her, but df4 is really a thing that lets me down. Maybe you got suggestions for me. Even with recalled training and against a hero it was still hard to have her not hit at DF4. So, this was a little wrap u. Up next will be a full 50Stones game with a battle report :).

  12. Yes, i thought that this argument would come up, but with snipers having fromthe shadows you can cover nearly the entire board and still be in that aura of shenlong.
  13. Hello everyone, i organized a tournament yesterday and witnessed a player playing Shenling, Emissary, low river monk, 2 katanaka Sniper, Hans and a Freikorps Trapper... Well it was a disgusting list that shot the dreamer opponent from nearly all angles but staying in the 6' to abuse the focus. It was slaughter! At the beginning of turn 3 the opponent conceded. In round 3 he added a Kang, facing molly. It was a fixed master tournament and the opponent just didn`t want to run into it, so took cover behind a tree and stood there for 5 rounds after 2 models were obliterated by those snipers with kang buff. It went 1-3, because the resser player was smart enough not to play this game. My question to you: How could you face this list, when you don`t know what to expect? It was kinda ridiculous to even watch it and i was thinking about counters and plays all the time with a "normal" list. Any help appreciated :).

I think i got a playable crew rdy then and have to start thinking about the base colors :). Before those Ten Thunders i only painted gremlins and it was so much green and dirt ^^ :D. I am happy to to paint some models very colorful models

  19. Aha, i see you also make use of the good ol' "Thumb-palette" :). It is a classic and everyone can tell when i was busy again painting things :). Also got this raspy in my "shelf of shame" with other models i should paint :-/. A beautiful model and i like to see your approach on it :).

  23. Hard to kill on Sidir would be aweome and finally fill the gap between usefulness and his cost. However, we found him SUPER useful against alpha strike lists! This man can change the plans of the opponents wuite destinctively
