  1. @Franchute Apologies - I didn't read your comment properly...however I spent some time debating how to do it and leaving the left arm off completely was my other option and would definitely achieve the same result....the fit of the arm is very good so painting the flame all in one go would definitely work as you will have to do very little if any filling or retouching on the shoulder at all A seperate issue with this model that you may come across in time - even though the sculpt is excellent and even though the body of the figure weighs next to nothing it is still nonetheless all supported by the thin plastic rod that represents the torch base of the flame...even though my model has been carefully stored that plastic rod/torch base has become stressed and the figure has started to droop inside the flame...it is a VERY delicate point of contact...in the next month or so I will be carefully cutting the flame free and will drill out the hand to replace the thin plastic rod with stiff wire
  2. @Franchute Not sure how far you have gone with assembly so this may or may not be helpful but when I did Carlos in last year's challenge I had a similar problem...eventually what I did was attach the left arm with only the first part of the flame so that I could paint the body - I drilled into one foot and attached a piece of wire that I stuck in a cork to avoid handling the painted model....after the body was painted I attached the rest of the flame then masked off the entire body so that I could use an airbrush to do the start of the flamework
  3. "Hallo , Hooray...let the show begin "....beautiful work indeed
  4. Thanks...WIP is cool but loading up a photo of sprue and primered models is a bit of a pain to be honest...only reason I asked about adding Barbaros is because I want to paint his wings at the same time as the Black Blood Shamans...see you all n a couple of weeks for a WIP
  5. @Franchute A couple of questions.....(1) I am on a paint my Neverborn quest...is it ok if I add Barbaros to this month's pledge on the understanding I will not finish him until next month ? (2) I can't remember...Do we need to post photos of models at the primer/unassembled phase ? I ask now as am at the primer stage so if needs be will photograph them now
  6. @bedjy That building looks very impressive - I look forward to seeing what you do with it
  7. March is all Neverborn for me....this month I will be painting 2 x Black Blood Shamans @ 7SS each plus Titania - but I can never remember how many SS we decided Masters are worth.....looking forward to it already @Scatterbrain thankyou for the info...so Titania is worth 15SS making my total pledge for this month 29SS
  8. @Chou very nice work...really like your brushwork and basing especially on the convict gunslingers....plus you made me want to buy The Midnight Stalker
  9. So two months in and five models built and painted - think that is some kind of record for me...it's really great watching everybody's models coming together and really is a great motivator....am already looking forward to March ! @Franchute The osl ,color contrast and glow from the lantern is very nice on your Brutal Effigy @Piccio the brushwork on your terracotta warriors is truly next level as in "wow !" @H4ml3tyou nailed it - every painted model is like a thousand times better than grey plastic...no matter what level of painter you are it makes every model individual because forgetting techniques or brushwork no two people will ever pick exactly the same colors or tones so it makes it a pleasure to see different takes on sculpts...I like how you made your Barbaros @Phinn Very slick paint on your Stitched Together...especially like the branding on the sack @PetitDalek Nice vibrant palette on Rasputina gives the sculpt some life plus great work on your terrain See you all next month
  10. Almost down to the wire and a last minute broken part dealt with...the second half of my February pledge for another 7SS bringing this month's total to 15SS....Patti Ramone

  14. It ha s been a great month with some really excellent entries along with a really happy vibe - top work ! The varnish is drying on Mr Graves and Patti Ramone is almost done...photos later on today...good luck to all with a brush in hand👍
  15. 😱😱😱....please no !!......Goryo ultimately are beautiful sculpts...but putting them together almost had me seeing if they would bounce off the window...was looking at Bone Piles in my FLGS...maybe I will wait until I hear more
  16. @bedjy congratulations for a great looking group of figures...really like the colors you chose for the performer and the furniture is excellent
  17. @RustAndTheCity What was that loud bang just now ?!....oh...that was the sound of my jaw hitting the floor...words aren't enough - superb 👍
  18. @4thstringer No...you're not the only one
  19. @Purple Mist Sorry...I know it's your model but I don't agree...for me the colors you chose for both Lillith and the base work together really well...for me it was "oh wow - I would never have thought of that"
  20. @RustAndTheCity Thankyou for the kind words....I know I took a pretty deep breath before starting on the pattern...it was like deciding to go on a forty mile cycle ride then by halfway kind of wondering "why exactly am I doing this ?"....like yourself by the end I was enjoying it....but I'm also quite glad he hasn't got a twin brother😉
  21. @Franchute Thankyou...yes I am trying to use the same tones on Mr Graves as the Stitched Togethers so that when I eventually get a full Neverborn crew painted up there should be an overall similar feel to them without the bases having to match up ..that's the plan at least...I would have said the trousers required a patience almost beyond my capacity...but then I saw the amazing NMM that @RustAndTheCity produced for his Iron Skeeter and realised I had better just get painting😉
  22. @Kogan Style mentioned the inspiration drawn from the great entries this month...me too...haven't had time to comment on them all yet but "Wow !" ...and that in turn spurred me on so here is my mid month WIP...that I shot just now....loads of work to do yet but I think I should just get them finished by the end of the month....so here they are so far : Mr Graves and Patti Ramone
