  1. So, when I look up some build instructions, I do not seem to find them. Sammy LaCroix; Railworkers & Metal Gamin. While I can imagine not fine Railworkers & Gamins had been easy I really lookin for Sammy's. Will it still come :s? Searching for Sammy turned up nothing and searching for LaCroix turned up Merris and part of Ophelia's box...
  2. Generally the model is okay, but I would love to have a more tattered look for the robes. It comes somewhat too clean for my taste, with it being a Resser model...
  3. My wallet hurts, at least I have now a nice ground for my Gremlins >.>
  4. Got the Le Bayou Gremlin RIGHT now in my hands! all the love!
  5. This is what I am reading: Naturally this is not what Nathan said D:
  6. Awww... and right when I thought my money is safe, you come around and drop some nuggets that crack wallets open. Though would love to know more about that "along those lines", but I guess I have to wait for something official to drop... so will someone hire Aoinus already to make time go faster?
  7. Sure, but there is no harm in voicing a wish. You know, if interest is there (and Wyrd might be able to tackle that), there might be Happening something. Sure it won't happen overnight... but maybe in the future
  8. Well, while Lenny is the optimum for dumbluck; I play just fine without him. especially in a 35 SS game, a size that feels great for beginning players. The game is already taxing as is and I lost the last game 10 - 9
  9. Bundled short stories would be also a Thing that would be great, so one could read it in one go, but I would also advocate for new stories and happenings that might be happening outside of the "main arc" (and have some meat on their bones).
  10. Thanks, I know about Chronicles, but sometimes you [or rather me] wants to read for instance a 100 page story about Burt Jebsen and his fantastic adventures, while growing a beard with every word I read :). That is what I love to see.
  11. Hey there, I like the world of Malifaux and some companies just give out extra novels from it's game characters. Given; just because other companies do it, does not mean you have to do it yourself. Though the good thing would be: • You can flesh out some models backstory and with the abundance of characters in the game there is much to choose from • You can give highlights to models that might not have an Impact on the overall story, that is going around • You can create hype for maybe upcoming models to go with it. Also: • With eReaders, ebooks can be distributed easily without finding someone to print your books. Also easy delivery So pretty please give stories
  12. If you are interested in the Rules and Rules only, you can buy the Rules Manual with is the cheapest If you want fluff and stats of every Wave 1 (*) miniatures of every faction you can buy the Core Rulebook Crossroads don't introduce new rules, but lots of fluff and all the stats from Wave 2 (**) miniatures of every faction Shifting Loyalites comes again with fluff and Wave 3 (***) stats for every miniature. If I gather correclty, Core Rulebook and Shifting Loyalites offer campain play, but if my memory serves right, the rules manual has the campaing play from the core rulebook, but don't quote me on that. In addition Crossroads + Shifting Loyalities has additional Story Encounters to play to spice things up :). Hope this helps. [ (*) Wave 1 stats can also be acquired with the Arsenal Decks Wave 1 (**) Wave 2 stats can also be acquired with the Arsenal Decks Wave 2 (***) Wave 3 no Arsenal Decks unreleased so far for them ]
  13. *checks mortage on the house* *shudders* *hits pre-order anyway* *looking for a nice bridge to sleep*
  14. Well, I order him, when I have Budget. Maybe I'll get him with Kaeris, Gunsmith,, Mech. Ridaaaaaa together... maybe even in the (hopeful apperaing) easter sale
  15. Give him a bandana, a John Rambo-esque painting and stuff a hand grenade in his mouth. Maybe even remove the splint and put it on the base for extra lulz
  16. Okay; with a bunch of Bayou Gremlins [for my Gremlins] I ordered now Mei Fang, Rail Golem and Metal Gamin. So I got now a lot incoming, but am happy to dive in :). The Wave 1 + 2 box from 10TT AND Arcanists are soon to be in my possesion. Plastic was orderd, but now I have all the february to paint.
  17. This certainly helps. Thanks; I just looked up the estiamted quotes [as said above] and was turned off to further persue this.
  18. First, I edited my starting post. I still stand by the things I said, but I was pressed for time, because I typed it out on my lunchbreak. As for the forums; I guess it all boils down to experience and there is not a lot to draw from for me. I've seen worse but I guess there can be better. Though you said it yourself, just a matter of perspective and if you know better, well you know better.
  19. Peeps, Creeps and creatures from the breach, I was very outspoken on some topics in the past and additionally gathered advice here, but I want to share my experience as whole. Why? I think it might help other (starting) players or give the developers valuebale feedback. Though, I guess, they already heard a point or two. I try to structutre as good as I can. Keep in mind, this is my personal rant and my (current) view on things. Feel free to comment or give some extra bullet points: Miniatures: All the miniatures are highly detailed and have unique poses. From peons to masters, every miniature is fun to paint due to it's detail. You loved that "commander" from that bigger rank and file game, but hated to paint all the mooks? Luckily this system gives you the pleasure in painting that mook up. Also noteworthy is, that when you paint one miniature, you (mostly) have 1/10th of your army down (factoring in that you want additional soulstones and upgrades in your list), if not more. This keeps painting fun and engaging, since it's getting you somewhere. Assembly sometimes is a nightmare and it is beyond my understanding (read: I really do not know why, but it might have a purpose!), why you have attach some bits on their own and don't have to do it with others parts. In addition the assembly guide is somewhat lacking (especially if buildorder is crucial); though I've seen worse and with dryfitting and methodical work you usually get around. Some miniatures are still unreleased and while it is easy to use a proxy (stats are available and you know which basesize the use and how large (ingame) the model is), I personally prefer official models... though with monthly releases, work is getting done. But you know, you would love to have Unit A, but Unit B is getting released, though fans of B might be happy Rules & Game: Rules are cheaply to acquire, or you can go premium; depends on if you want more fluff and spoiled stats. The premium books (starting from Crossroads) do come with extra missions and have something for everyone. Story Encounters are fun (tried The Carver Walks amoung us from Crossroads) and change the normal play. So, if you don't feel to prepare for a tournament or just want to spice things up; go Story Encounters! It's still a living game; rules are getting clarified and changed if need be. It seems to be a monthly thing, so I guess it's enough time to introduce them and try them out beforehand. Rules are generally easy to grasp and (mostly) tight. If questions arise, the forum is a good resource to go to. Not (on specific schemes & strategies) needing to kill something is a nice change of pace. Sometimes winning means not to engange and persue other tactics! With each model having (usually) an abundance of abilities, it's sometimes (especially for a new player) hard to keep track on what does what and (re)reading certain cards take away from playing the game (though with more games under your belt, things start to get easier) Purchases: As said before, the rulebook is cheaply acquired; Either a Crewbox+Rulebook or the 2 player starter box will give you enough to start your own adventure in Malifaux. Branching out seems to be easy at first glance... You can also purchase card boxes, which gain you access to all the faction book models, without (unnecessary (if you are not down for it)) fluff and sometimes there are even errataed cards from the previous wave in it... Also crew boxes come with (specific) upgrades of the units in the box, but... ... generalist upgrades are still only tied to the card boxes or books and there is no other way to acquire them. Especially with the card boxes you tend to accumulate (unnecessary) doubles. Additional masters (usually) come with a extra units that could been bought separately and thus you just pay a premium fee for another playstyle... ... though sometimes there might be one miniature you are seeking that cannot be gained outside a crew box, which introduces a big price on just that - that is, if you don't fancy yourself the minions coming along with it. Some masters are better for some objectives and you probably tend to purchase more boxs down the way and things can bloat to unlock some of the games hidden potenital, which is sometimes not as clear in the beginning (though there are some more generalist masters, but sometimes a drunken gremlin whispers "Buy me." in your ear and you simply can't resist). So buying on impulse might be not a good thing... Misc: Each Crew feels different from each other. While there are some masters, who have a similiar style, they usually feel different enough from each other and have another thing going on for them... (double points for that) Same goes for each faction. There seems to be anything for everyone. While each faction have a set theme, there is usually enough diversity within a faction (double points for that) The Forum is populated with staff, which sometimes drop some nuggets of wisdom, or just listen to player feedback. It feels nice, really nice... So, what is my current tally? x 17 x 7 I guess that should give a good hint about what to expect from the game - at least with my limited view on things. Though please keep in mind - and I stress it again - I'm still a new player and some points might solve themselves, or dependending when you read it non-existant, or you can stomach some points better than me... Overall I think the game is still is worth investing and I'm also overall happy with all my purchases made... My personal outlook: I already made plans branching out to other factions than Gremlins, with having the feeling of having a force of my own. I might still lack some purchases for the Gremlins, but see them as a side project for now. Currently I have money (I could also spend otherwise), but dump it into Malifaux. I don't know for how long I can purchase as I do now, but let's be honest, nobody needs the full range of miniatures! I also want to touch again on the crew boxes, since I really beieve, that the healthy thing to look at them, is to say that you are purchasing the unit and the rest comes as an (payed) added bonus; it helps to keep things in perspective.
  20. Na was just checking the quotes on estimated shipping without doing the ordering step. Might pick it up, when I order Metal Gamin to get the new cards... at least this would make sense, since I don't have to order it seperately.
  21. But it still stings paying such a premium, if you want to have physical ones. Not lamenting the rules, but throw your overseas players a bone D:. EDIT: With the rules coming soon translated, will those be translated as well... not for my sake -- but maybe for new interested players?
  22. Ugh... the estimated shipping costs to EU of the deck are roughly twice as much as the deck itself and this is standard and not premium shipping... do not like
  23. May I ask a follow up questions. How soon would preorders hit retailers outside of the US in general. Do you send them on release date to retailers or do you plan ahead and calculate ample time, so retailers should be able to populate their store[front] with [hopefully] enough of the goodies :). Waiting [impatiently] for my Sammy LaCroix order. Just can't wait to slam her on the table :).
  24. Hope you are not mad at me . Just was quoting back what my supplier send to me after the third mail and four weeks without Brewmaster and the Rulebook and assumed he was right. My fault. Thank you for being so transparent about this and also not trying to pass the "Blame Card" back to the storefronts, but rather show where stuff can falter and it is just not a matter of B did wrong. With that said, there might be Gracie soon back at some other stores... when I order Mei and some extras.
  25. Slop Haulers are already tied to my Sammy preoder, along with Merris and Burt Jebsen; If I'm lucky Wong hits tomorrow, but more likley monday [though I have the follwing thursday and friday off and will paint the Wong]. What I also like on all my Reckless Enforcers / Henchmen is Dirty Cheater - especially if they have an ability I really wonna cast and cheat. 1 damage taken, do actions, remove one damage... oh look I only have fast models ...
