  1. Now that these ponies are up to snuff and out in the public, how are you finding them performing in your games? Have they found a decent place in GG2017? I ask because I haven't picked them up from my LGS yet, and I want to live vicariously through others. Side question - with the inclusion of Allison Dade, do Guardsmen-centric lists make the cut in a year mostly focused on schemey-ness and control?
  2. Dashel with Arrest Him isn't too shabby in Interference either. That upgrade can make him quite a surprise for the unwary opponent. "Bam, now you don't count, and neither does this model!" Guild Guard are OP #snarkiness He will need Numb on him instead to avoid Tail'em though, which means he probably replaces Phiona and that is bad news bears.
  3. With an Embedded list you might as well take a Strongarm Suit instead of the Peacekeeper. They are fairly identical but the ability to charge ignoring models and terrain would help out with options in Interference. He can't get bogged down as easily against multiple models, for example. The triggers to prevent damage reduction help a lot too. When you need it his gun is more reliable too at Sh7, but usually punching stuff is his M.O. This is all a mute point if you don't have the model of course I would usually take the Peacekeeper in general anyway. Otherwise this looks like a really solid list. Phiona can get Dig Their Graves really easily while not giving away Tail'em points (thank you Numb), and you have enough flexibility to go for the other schemes without (hopefully) giving it away too much.
  4. @Tris I will - wont get a game in next week but maybe after that, busy busy busy. At that point you should just play Hoffman
  5. Theoryfaux expounding time. Nellie in the Bayou AKA Pig in the City Nellie, 4 cache, Misleading Headlines, Delegation, Embedded Printing Press Phiona Gage, Transparency, Debt Gracie, Numb Burt Jebsen, Debt Johan Performer Field Reporter Four beaters, eight activations (almost infinite anyway with Misleading Headlines), insane damage without relying on Shooting (why, yes, hello Mei Fang. I don't care about your steam, thank you) and a lot of tanky goodness. No one besides Gracie needs Rams either so they can go to her for min4 all day. I'm thinking best used in Guard the Stash with Burt, Gracie, and a Field Reporter on one side and the rest covering the other with Nellie straddling both in the middle. Likely able to do anything well but we will see. I'm interested to see if Gracie's extra attacks would put her in competition vs a Strongarm Suit, but her own healing might put her over the top. A little less damage to be able to stick around for another turn or two, hmmm
  6. I'm gonna try Burt and Gracie in with Embedded Nellie. A potential nine attacks between giving them both Fast and Burt's auto-triggers for Gracie. Combined with Propoganda means whatever is near them should be dead. Right?
  7. I would like to believe that third art has a model design floating around somewhere. Maybe one day we will get a third model as a bonus or something, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
  8. That's a days worth of salt right there. You can keep your theme intact and have all the fun you want out of the game, but I (and I think most people) want to know about good options for various scenarios and it just so happens that the Darkened keyword doesn't rise to the top. I sincerely do not understand your sentiment that Brilliance is worthless when Brilliant models will die. Have a drink, take a breath, and come back to the Honeypot any time.
  9. This is the link button disguised as text Hey fellow Wyrdudes and Wyrdudettes, I wrote a long-winded guide to Jakob Lynch over on Midwest Wargaming. Take a gander and read a bunch on one of my favorite Masters. I focus mostly on the 10T side of things because they are my preferred faction but it is very thorough. Enjoy. Or don't, I'm not your dad. Or am I?

  11. Fully agreed with @Rathnard. He needs to have a crew built around him, that also can't help him move, and similar models do the same job for cheaper/the same cost. Want a lot of shooting? Samurai, like you said. Want a real tarpit? Izamu, all day, who can be pushed, actually hurt things in combat and can't be killed in Ml. His errata upgrade seems like a bandaid for a broken leg - the thought is nice but it doesn't help. Also being one of the ugliest models in the range, and arguably the most offensive, doesn't help either.
  12. For clarity, this stuff will destroy your crew and there isn't much you can do besides get really lucky. Hoffman has so much healing and big beefy model amplifying stuff going on that even if you lose initiative and your Peacekeeper almost dies, you can heal him up again very easily. Being Armor+2(3) with Df6 when looped should keep your biggest models kicking and Hoffman's AP battery-self moving along. Unless you run into the aforementioned crews. Then prepare for crying.
  13. The only thing you need to worry about is mass armor ignore and a crazy amount of Wp duels. Viks and Pandora are the biggest paper to Hoff's rock. If you want more cushion you could drop OSA for two more stones. Your only target is the Toolkit who might be left behind the Hoffball if Slow'd. Fast Hoff is great but not necessary unless you have an appropriate Slow target - Metal Gamin and Guardians are great here, for their 0 pushes.
  14. Don't forget the ubiquitous Claim Jump. Interact, flap your wings, interact. Neverborn may have Gupps but we have a mechanical bat.
  15. Agreed here. Hoffman doesn't need many stones unless you put a lot of henchmen in there which you don't have. Solid list, but not the Conflux of Amalgamation? Targeting Systems on the Emissary makes him really scary.
  16. "Halt, drunkard! Smoke cannot protect you from justice!" -Batma- I mean Warden, caped
  17. I've never taken Franc with the Hoff nor felt I needed him. Hoffman is one of the few masters that isn't short-handed without him because of Power Loop. Mobile Toolkit can definitely be added onto the Arcanist Assests build(s). It's a nifty 3 stone upgrade for the big beaters and adds an extra little activation for an otherwise continuously out-activated crew. There is that infinite Power Loop trick with the child but I've never run it so others will have to weigh in. I think you've found all the niches for Hoffman builds, he doesn't have the greatest crew variance.
  18. Keep the illuminated. You'll need the extra punch in the crew, which is a very solid start. You could replace the Effigy for a Terracotta Warrior when you want to try that out - switching Sensei Yu's style to Low River Style for the healing would be a good move. With Sensei Yu you'll find most of your stones will go for his damage prevention (initiative is common too) as I've found Lynch doesn't use them that much. Taking just his cache of 1 has been plenty for me honestly, but I usually run the Shadow Emissary more often because it's a dragon. You should consider Woke Up With a Hand over Wanna See A Trick? if you're married to taking RT on Lynch. That first turn drawing 2 cards is immense and Final Debt is his most damaging attack. I'm writing up a Lynch guide for Midwest Wargaming which will be ready in a week or two. I'll post the link
  19. Ramos Amazing summoning and crew buffing means I can't react properly to a reactivating Howard who will crush a flank, or a Joss counter attack the next turn because there's no way to kill him in one turn without devoting a whole crew to it, and even then. He has the best of all worlds and I've never beaten him no matter who plays him. He's in my head now. It doesn't help that I hate his playstyle so I can't do the same thing to others so they may share my plight. Bahhhhhhhhh
  20. All true. Good thing Yokai are "free" hires each week if you need more I think Yokai should perform well with Toshiro helping them along. They're twice as fast as Punk Zombies and hit almost as hard for much cheaper. Plus, crazy apes going bananas are fun.
  21. Getting injuries on a 5ss model isn't the end of the world. If you have a lower Crew Rating your scrip bonus will see you in the green for the majority of any campaign. Case in point I ran two High River Garbage Monks who accumulated their max injuries after two games and netted me scrip just for playing against people. Good times.
  22. McCabe can't give Izamu reactivate because he's an Enforcer, but Nimble yes. Fast+Nimble should be enough to get him where he needs to be.
  23. I agree with @Dogmantra. Cite the timing for Mad Dog Brackett's scheme marker dropping trigger for his gun. He shoots, does damage, kills a model, then drops a marker. It cannot count for Dig Their Graves because when the scheme marker is dropped, there is no model currently dying to discard it for the VP. Equality works similarly. Your opponent scores VP at the end of the turn, then you drop a marker (or heal or draw cards) and it sits there for the next turn. If it was a scheme like Frame for Murder where VP is scored immediately, you would drop the marker after they scored points. That, again, could not count for Dig Their Graves because the model that died, died before the marker was dropped.
  24. I've been mentioned on a podcast! A podcast I was on once! Exciting. You can invite me to talk about Guild/10T any time
  25. That is a really good point. Hoff always fixed his slowness. It is worth mentioning that Howard and the Executioners assassinate triggers don't care about armor. Same with burying things in a pine box.
