  1. Lilith plays well with most Neverborn, but her box has some very useful models. Terror Tots are the factions go to scheme runners, especially with Lynch. They have an ability that lets them double walk for a single action as long as you flip/cheat a mask. This means they can move 20" in one turn, reliably with Lynch if you get an ace of masks. While they have a box themselves, her crew box also includes Barbaros, a nice tanky henchman whose Challenge ability works great with Pandora, forcing lots of Willpower duels which will either cause Misery auras to cause damage, makes your opponent use more cards to cheat those duels, or keep damage off the squishier elements of the crew. Win/win, really.
  2. This is one of the reasons I'm so glad I got out of systems that use masses of models and got into skirmish games. I, quite simply, despise batch painting. It bores me to tears. Games like Infinity and Malifaux where every sculpt is unique lets me take it one model at a time, even if it's a minion like a Terror Tot, and have fun painting it to completion before moving on. Or like now, have multiple models on the go but all very different, so I can paint what I feel like painting when I sit down.
  3. Correction - Lord Chompy Bits is Nytmare, a Tyrant, the beings the Neverborn were at war with. Just no one is quite sure if he is, Pandora is suspicious. Is Zoraida classified as a true Neverborn? I thought she was a Witch on Earth and slipped through long before the breach opened. This is an issue I have with the faction as well, it does feel somewhat disjointed. But again, there's nowhere else for those masters to go, so into Neverborn they are put.
  4. Looks fantastic. So does Lelu, there was no sacrifice there. You could also grab The Mother of Monsters box, which would give you a way to use Lelu and Lilutu. Also a great way to demo the game for friends, as the two boxes are pretty iconic to each faction and good opposites in gameplay (the Latigos are super shooty, the Nephilim are all about speed and melee).
  5. I've been playing a rapid growth so I've had a kick in the ass to paint some stuff. Pandora Doppleganger (weather is terrible for sealing, so I won't get a shot with her bloodied up back for a while)
  6. Remember that you build your list to the schemes and strategies and your opponents declared faction. Sometimes going for synergy between 100% of your models is a pitfall. If you feel you need a ranged unit, and you have Angel Eyes but she doesn't synergise with your crew but fills a gap you feel you need filled for your current situation, take her.
  7. Well, everything bar the card and model are gone now. I bought it quite a while ago. So I probably don't have enough evidence to put into a missing part claim. I did notice one of my FLGS's has like 20 wave 1 Gremlin decks, so I might just grab one of those. Gives me spare cards which I like to have around anyway.
  8. I finally got around to organising my Gremlin cards, and noticed that the Nightmare Whiskey Golem I bought way back didn't come with its upgrade card. Is there any way to buy one without springing for an entire other Whickey Golem? Upgrade cards don't seem to be on the Print on Demand service.
  9. I buy models of they look awesome, then figure out how they work. I can't paint something if I don't like it and won't use something that won't get painted. not too fussed if the models stats are considered good or bad, I'll figure out a way to use them.
  10. Maybe expand the starter crews a touch? Add some Guild Riflemen to the Guild and Terror Tots to the Neverborn? That should being both up to near 30pts.
  11. Beckoners, Ronin, Hired Swords crew box. edit - I didn't realize I was a page back... Anyway, curious to see what they do. I like the units in Malifaux that aren't outright fighters and have their own little effect on the game.
  12. My guess is that thread went to the same place this one is going to go to.
  13. I find it bad simply from a standpoint of replacement cards. If I buy a Mysterious Emmisary, and the card falls down a sewer/has a paint pot dropped on it/gets stolen/etc, I have to buy another Mysterious Emmisary to get a card for it. I would have thought the print on demand card service would cover all cards simply to cover that.
  14. Candy is ready to prowl the streets of Malifaux. Had a hard time painting her, she's the size of my fingernail. It was essentially permanent fine detail mode. Unlike Baby Kade, she's got quite a lot of detail.
  15. I see you've already mentioned Vallejo paints. Another tip for thinned paints, see if any store near you stocks their Model Air and Game Air ranges. These paints are pre-thinned for airbrush use, but the best bit is because of this, they're pre-thinned for basic brush use. Just use the dropper bottle to put as much as you need on your palette and go nuts. It seems lazy, but for a new painter it's a great shortcut. Also for lazy people - I'm in the process of replacing my paints with their Air ranges because I just get annoyed thinning paints. Once you've gotten used to how thin the paints should be, buy some regular colours you like, and have a go thinning them yourself to the consistency of the air paints.
  16. Well, I folowed the art and didn't do the pupils. I'm terrible at eyes, and the absolute worst part is the pupils, so any chance to skip that I'll take. Then it's just painting the black, correcting it, painting the white, correcting it. I'm starting to experiment with washes instead of pure black for the edges of the eyes, as the pure black is too stark.
  17. Seems like I left buying Shifting Loyalties for a good time.
  18. I've not had that problem brushing on, though I haven't really dug at it. However, it may be that, like ghostcopy said, I've left it long enough to cure? I tend to prime models later at night and paint the next day at the earlier, generally quite some time later.
  19. Well this was a surprise. I ordered a mat a while ago, and thought I had it shipping to my fiancees parents house like usual. Seems they sent it to my billing address and luckily, I'm on annual leave from work so I was actually home. Ordered from Playmats.eu, who print double sided, and also on request print the M2E objectives and deployment markings. Swamp (Dark Island) side. Victorian Cobblestone side.
  20. I didn't recommend Lilith and Pandora because it sounded like, for budget reasons, you wanted 2 crew boxes that would mingle well. If you're planning on buying more models, as said, they're a fantastic way to enter Neverborn. Both have very distinct playstyles and most extra models work well in both lists. The Nephilim box is pretty much for Lilith. It opens Grow lists (which you'll want a box of Black Blood Shamans and Nekima to get the most out of). Nekima can work in both. She's really expensive, but she's a really fast beater henchman that can really efficiently hunt down solo models like scheme runners. In a Grow list she's a good source for Rapid Growth and her upgrade can spawn more Tots. Teddy works in both. He's got particular synergy with Pandora since Terrifying 13 is great for getting stuck in and causing more Willpower duels, which in turn trigger Misery for more damage and his own Smell Fear for more melee hits. With Lilith, he fills the same rols as the Mature Nephilim, but he's still fine as an alternative beater. Lilutu is good for both thanks to her Lure. WIth Pandora that Lure is another Willpower duel that can cause Misery auras, or pull enemies into those auras for other models. Doppleganger is just great with anyone. Particular synergy with Pandora is Manipulative 14, which is pretty hard to win, and is another Willpower test.
  21. Oh yeah, forgot about Lynch.
  22. Those two boxes... eeeh. I wouldn't recommend them if you're looking for cross box mingling. Kade can go well with Lilith in that he's another melee beater with Pounce. Barbaros can go well with Pandora in that he can force a lot of Willpower tests with Challenge. Tots make good scheme runners anywhere but they don't exactly have much synergy with Pandora, you're better off with Insidious Madness's which have additional Willpower debuffs which support her. They're good crew boxes for starting those masters thematic crews, but not if you're looking for two boxes that will mingle well. I don't think any other boxes necessarily mingle well with Pandora, you want a lot of the smaller boxes for her. Insidious Madness, Doppleganger, Iggy, Primordial Magic, Teddy, etc. If you're going for two crew boxes, I'd go for Lilith and Zoraida. Silurids and Bad Juju can work well with Lilith, and Tots and Barbaros can work well with Zoraida.
  23. I wanted the Sorrows to be more muted. More like ethereal ghosts you see from the corner of your eye than the bright, glowy beacons we see in movies.
  24. Sort of irritating that Miss Terious sells out so fast. I'm glad I nabbed alternate Perdita this sale, but Miss Terious is always gone by the time I wake up.
  25. Yeah they're from Plastcraft, their ColorED range. It's foamed PVC (basically plasticard type material) that's textured and colour printed. So the bricks not only look like bricks, but have the grout lines pressed in. Basically, I'm super slow when it comes to painting miniatures, but I just don't like painting terrain at all. So the chance to do Malifaux boards at home with pre coloured terrain is a huge plus.
