  1. Hello! I am aware that the standard plastic version of Tara's crew will be out soon, but am more interested in the smoke translucent version. I have Paypal, Warmachine Cryx, and Warhammer 40k Tyranids as offerings. Please let me know!
  2. Not sure. At first I was thinking Ashen Core after splitting A&D with Leveticus's Rebirth shenanigans, but Leveticus is not a construct.
  3. That was great, thank you! Feel free to continue the epic post any time you feel like it

    Kirby's Crew

My humble collection of painted minis! I'd consider my stuff adequate for tabletop, but not so sure I can claim a 'hobbyist' level of paint. That said, I am looking to improve and (polite) criticism and critique is welcome!

  6. Hey gang, A few of us at the local store are getting into Malifaux. A buddy of mine picked up the Misaki crew and various Ten Thunders minis to go with her and I picked up Leveticus along with Lazarus and Ashes & Dust. We've kinda found out the hard way that both Leveticus and A&D aren't exactly the most new player friendly experiences to face. My typical crew is as follows: Leveticus - From Ash, To the Earth Return, Desolate Soul 2x Hollow Waif Rusty Alyce - From Aether Lazarus - Oathkeeper Ashes & Dust - Scramble Abomination What are some of your go-to tools whether it's crew, upgrade loadout, or play strategies when seeing something like that across the table? Thanks!
  7. Oh, doh. Totally forgot that sacrificed means no marker. Updating/editing the post.

Totally not satisfied with her face. She looks alright from the tabletop, but later I'll probably strip and redo her when I get better at painting faces.

Totally not satisfied with her face. It took way too many attempts and there is too much paint on her. She looks alright from the tabletop, but later I'll probably strip and redo when I get better at painting faces.
  12. Leveticus & Co. are pretty great at putting a scrap marker where they want it. Leveticus can (0) action sacrifice an Abomination for two cards and a scrap marker [Edit: Sacrificed means no scrap marker], Rusty Alyce can (0) action place a scrap marker, or an Abomination/Lazarus can kill an Abomination via the two-damage-for-card ability. As far as opponents spending too many activations killing A&D and not having enough left to prevent the reformation, this can be mitigated with your own models too. Most opponents will whittle A&D down so they can pop him early next turn and then deal with the core. You can prevent that by killing him off on your own if he's too low for comfort toward the end of the turn.
  13. Thanks for the responses! And no, I didn't have any particular build ideas relying on a large number of activations. It was more that when I discussed having both Ryle and Lazarus in a crew together along with another big model, some other players expressed concern that I was investing too much in elite models and would get out-activated and suffer in VP situations.
  14. Is it just me, or do most Leveticus lists seem to be built from a few elite models rather than more numerous low-mid priced models? Lazarus, Ashes & Dust, Ryle, Mech Rider, Rusty Alyce, and even some of the more off-shoot suggestions like Teddy are all 10+ stone models and it seems like most Leveticus crews would be out-activated early in the game until summons really hit the board. Is it worthwhile to look into the less resource-intensive options like Friekorps trappers and the librarian in replacement of the elites?
  15. That's correct, they're both only in metal for now.
  16. Ah yeah, that's very true. I'm currently using a proxy. Even when you can find it in pewter it's a little pricey because, well, it's an OOP big hunk of pewter.
  17. Tossing in Lazarus makes a strong 35ss crew. Moving up to 50ss is as easy as tossing in Ashes & Dust as well!
  18. Holy cow that's perfect! I'll never be able to paint it nearly as well as the studio model, but that is fantastic! Thanks!
  19. Hello all! I have recently started playing Malifaux and have the Leveticus crew box. I tossed in Lazarus and Ashes & Dust to bring it to a 50ss army, but there is no plastic Ashes & Dust yet, and it seems like there will not be one for quite some time. I know there is a metal miniature but it is long since out of print and I am not the biggest fan of it. Is there a proxy that you all like? Or possibly a set of bits that assist in making a nice custom mini? Thanks!
