Hello, Here is the thread for September of the monthly painting challenge. Please post your pictures, plans and discussions for the month here. I'm also copy-pasting a reminder of the rules and the principles of the challenge: The idea of the challenge is a motivational one. It is simply a friendly painting community---not a competition---that we use to find motivation to finish painting our Malifaux miniatures. You pledge an amount of soulstones that you will be painting each month of the year 2018. If you want to enroll for the challenge, it's too late because you would use too many mulligans. I'll use the following spreadsheet to keep track of each one's situation: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zYYugrSGk_4GTo8OjHjyfI_ruYWYOSnhy7U2ivbgfZ8/edit?usp=sharing Some specific rules: Models count for the month in which you finish them. Everyone may fail to make their monthly goal twice and stay in the challenge. You can choose to go down in the pledge hierarchy during the year, but you cannot move up. You may choose to sign up during a later month for the challenge but this means that you'll have to use one or two of the aforementioned mulligans: e.g. if you start in February, one mulligan will already been used; if you start in March, two mulligans will already been used; you cant start in April. Masters count for 15 soulstones Zero cost models count for 5 soulstones Terrain count too. Terrain must be painted and is treated like zero cost models (i.e. count for 5 soulstones). The piece of terrain must be significantly larger than a 50mm marker.

@prof_bycid I like a lot the leaves you added. It looks very natural.

I simply start painting the base with a dark green: GW Caliban green. Then I paste my grass and my stones. Then I add Viruk's mixture of GW nurgle rot and Vallejo still water: I'm not sure, maybe two or three thin layers. The grass tends to "suck" the mixture; that's why it gathers around it like this. And finally I put two layers of pure still water. Sometimes I try some other variants with brown, but this recipe is the last version I'm playing with.

@Purple Mist No problem. I took the final pictures of my kentauroi. I changed the black background for a grey one: The kentauroi puts me at 27ss.

You cannot do that unfortunately. Once she is armour 1 you are not allowed to make her armour 2. You'll see: just check the crow trigger of weld metal plate.

The box has three models: one of them is supposed to be an alt kentauroi and the other two are not alt.

Maybe we can do both: we downgrade you to enfoercer and you paint between 5 and 10 soulstones in the ten days you have left so that you'll have one extra mulligan in the future

@Burnin' Coal Thanks. If you want to use another mulligan, we can simply downgrade you to "enforcer". In this case, your first mulligan won't count anymore because you painted 10 sousltones that month, meaning you'll have another chance.

@Viruk the correct soulstone count had been entered into my spreadsheet 👍🏻 @Purple Mist I'm looking forward to these bases with their cats! I have some more WIP pictures on the kentauroi: Most of the work is done. I just need to do some details like the hooves, the stitches, adding some glazes here and there, some blood, the spear etc...

I'm actually using a light box... 🙁 @prof_bycid I had similar issues with my male steamfitter, so I decided he would not hold any tool in his hand 😊
