  1. Hello! I went to subscribe to the RSS feed on https://www.breachsidebroadcast.com/feed/, but my podcast app can't open it because the security certificate is for podbean, but the domain name is breachsidebroadcast. Thanks!
  2. I went to buy Emissary/Conflux cards and they weren't there. Nathan says above "not before the official release" -- have they been officially released? I'm holding an Arcane Emissary, so maybe?
  3. The import of some of the characters is definitely something I'm wondering about how to make clear. Two Masters fighting would be something that, as a Malifaux player, I would stare at, especially if I decided to attack and find that I needed 18s to hit... but only one of my players has played the miniatures game, so having these Gods show up and basically ignore my guys would be funny. Or terrible. After I wrote the above, I wondered if they'd be more accepting if I just didn't tell them I was running from a book.
  4. My crew are just about to finish In Defense of Innocence, and I wanted to get Nythera to have something to run next (should I allowed to be the game master after we're done!). I've only just read up to the start of Act 2. So far, I really like it. I also really liked Innocence, but so far they seem to be very different books. Innocence had a relatively short storyline, with a big "sandbox" style city and a lot of people with a lot of things happening, as well as a lot of available side stories. I thought my guys would really enjoy it, but they've gotten stuck on the "World of Warcraft" nature of it -- ie, in order to present more than 10% of the content in the book, I've had to be less than subtle. "There's a guy over there who looks suspicious" "He claims that other guy has guns hidden" "That other guy does actually have guns hidden". It's been a trade-off between making sure that the story is told, making sure the city feels lively enough, and making sure they feel like they have choices as opposed to we must do everything that is presented. Nythera so far looks very different. It's presenting a story as opposed to a sandbox, and by the start of Act 2 if you deviate from that story your characters may be dead. On the one hand, I really like this because I really like the Malifaux story and I'd enjoy presenting the Malifaux story. On the other hand, if my guys felt railroaded before, when they actually had a ton of options... (our group has tended towards custom build stories over our decades of RPing. This was my first time DMing, so I wanted to run something where I didn't have to make everything up, which is likely where some of our problem comes from. At least one guy doesn't like that I'm using a book...I told him to stuff it and that it was my game to run...)
  5. I want a "Captain Planet" master to go with the 5 Gamin types... What do you mean there are only 4 Gamin?! HEART!
  6. Ok, so meeting done and here's the power that I built for my Fated: (0) Tunnel Vision (Centering / TN: 4R): This model gains the following Condition: "Pissed Right the F*** off +1: Gain +1 Ml. This model may Charge as a (1) action, and must charge a legal target if it starts it's activation unengaged. At the end of it's activation, this model makes a (Centering / TN: 4R) test to end this Condition on itself. If it fails, gain +1 on this Condition." So it's "easy" to get the Condition if you have a Ram in hand (my friend has Rams as primary) or can flip a Ram, and easy to get out of if you have a non-Ram in hand. I built it using Killjoy's ability as a base, but wanted him to have some more control over the power. He used it last night, but we messed up the "exit condition" and he ended up beating a friend up. Which was hilarious, but as the FM I didn't want it to continue much longer than a round. To me it was a little awkward. Some alternatives I have in mind: "Whenever you are in Dramatic Time, you may Charge as a (1) action, but must charge a legal target if you start your activation unengaged." This is simpler, but if Dramatic time starts at a long range, could be really bad. This is a closer approximation to Killjoy's ability, but his ability works only because he tends to start in the middle of the table. "Just gain (+) to Ml attacks and (-) to Df until the end of Dramatic Time". Simpler still, a more traditional approach to Berserker powers, reminds me of D&D 4e a little bit. The same "Tunnel Vision" power as above, but make the TN a 7 instead of 4R. So it's easier to get into with just about any card you have, but you'd better have a low card in hand. Also would discourage my player from gaining any further Centering, since at some point it becomes unfailable.
  7. Trying to make a Manifest Power for one of my Fated and am interested in any ideas you folks might have. I've got an idea (which I'll share when I get back from this meeting...) but wondered if anyone had any cool abilities they were using!
  8. Yeah, and I sent out 2 of the Breaching the Faux decks to my giftee, and I was super excited to hear about their excitement at these awesome decks. But nothing. Furio: I didn't check. He hasn't responded to my PM (maybe he forgot or missed it, it was a month ago), but it doesn't matter as much now. There's nothing he can do now for me -- I have the contact information for the important people from my point of view, so he'd just be another well-wisher.
  9. I'm interested if any of the upcoming Encounter Boxes will have solo encounters in them?
  10. Well, it's been months and I'm a little annoyed but should probably put that annoyance down (something I'm not good at :)). I didn't receive a gift. I sent a gift but didn't hear if it was received. The organizer of this event is MIA. The only saving grace is that I got in contact with the fellow who sent me a gift (or, tried to) so it isn't complete a communication black out.
  11. Wow! Great to hear about gifts arriving...if a little late! I mailed my gift off mid-December and haven't heard from my giftee on whether it arrived. I sent him a PM last week but haven't heard anything! I also didn't receive a gift, which is a little disappointing, and haven't heard from my gifter at all. I'm hoping N1ck is still around and checking his PMs and such to get me some closure! I don't necessarily need more Malifaux...but some idea of what happened would be really nice!
  12. Because if it said "other friendly models", you'd be able to stick 2 MG near each other, PoM each other and then continue playing as if the change never happened. I just noticed this is also a cuddle to their primary attack, since you need a model with PoM nearby to get the Burning, and that's difficult to do. Right, but even if you have to keep two of them near each other, they're still limited to the 3" bubble to keep it going, which is still much less ridiculous than self-POMing. Good catch on the cuddle to their attack, I hadn't thought about that. This hits just keep on coming, it would seem. You don't, because the rest of the text still says "Remove this Condition immediately if there are no friendly Metal Gamin within 3"". And everyone has always agreed that a Gamin is within 3" of himself, regardless of the other nasty things they've called me over the years
  13. Because if it said "other friendly models", you'd be able to stick 2 MG near each other, PoM each other and then continue playing as if the change never happened. 14. None of that actually changed. The only change to the Protection of Metal action was the addition of "non-Metal Gamin" so it can't target itself. Of course, there is also the loss of Hard to Kill. But just addressing your post. I read his quote as "I hate having to keep a Wk 4 model within 3" of it's target". Mainly because...I also hate having to do that. I did it once. Didn't enjoy it, to much fiddle farting about with 8 stones of models to provide a buff. Never did it again.
  15. Oh, but it's offset by a minor stealth buff for Metal Gamin -- they gained an extra AP on their first turn! (ie...they no longer have to PoM themselves on their first turn, so don't lose the 1AP to casting it...)
  16. Shocked at the Metal Gamin changes! I would have definitely agreed that they were one of the more effective and cost effective 4ss models, but two changes in one go isn't a "gentle rebalancing"! I've never used PoM on anything but the Gamin, and have been questioned on it repeatedly. I don't mind that change -- 6Df on a 4ss model was a little silly -- but to lose HtK in the same round hurts me in the Metal Gamin-shaped hole that was once my heart.
  17. Oddly enough, Engage at Will was showing up in my Chrome but Pig Sling wasn't. I did some looking into while Pig Sling wasn't appearing and couldn't find any reason...and then about 15 minutes into looking into it, it appeared. >.> At which point I stopped looking!
  18. Alright! I just did an update to the web site (not the Android app still) with most of your bug fixes. Appreciate the reports! Engage at Will is in the list. The list uses lazy-loading because the app is way too slow if I display all of the data at once. After about 50 rows in the table, it stops loading and only grabs the extra information when you scroll down. Because of this, with a search of "Is Upgrade - Yes" and "Any - wave 1", Engage at Will is too far down to be found with a Ctrl-F. You have to scroll down first. (This could be fixed, but I don't have the time for it right now). There was also a report from someone else about Lucky Misses being counted as Injuries, which was not correct. Are they "Lucky Miss" or "Near Miss"? Again, don't have my book at work! >.<
  19. I'm not at home anymore to check -- is it in the Guild card deck?
  20. Thanks Bengt! I don't see Hair Trigger on page 117 of the first book though. I looked through a couple other pages to see if it was a typo, but couldn't find it there.
  21. It's been a bit since I read them Dirial, but I thought that while they were all "separate" stories, that every story linked back to the main story in a significant way. In Loyalties, for example, the Guild story has nothing to do with the GG eventually going Power Overwhelming. But something like the story of Philip Tombers, while it was good on it's own, it also moved along the overall story of Malifaux and was relevant to the story being told.
  22. Thanks for pointing it out -- it's fixed now.
  23. That's interesting! Odd that I have it listed as both Wave 1 and Wave 2 - was it reprinted in Crossroads? Should it have Rare 1 or not? Thank you! It is a labour of love.
  24. I added a few campaign features recently as well: A box to hold the number of Scrip you have.Added Skills, Equipment and Injuries.Your maximum encounter size (so you can more easily compare to your opponent)Check "Arsenal" to make a given crew your Arsenal. Use "Available" soulstones to create your arsenal. Then...Check "Campaign Crew" to create a crew from the Arsenal you've made. Checkboxes appear in the crew list to allow you to include models from your arsenal in your crew.Let me know if anything seems wrong!
  25. Some_scrub hit on everything I would have said about the individual stories, and said it in a constructive manner, great job! My biggest complaint coming out of Crossroads, was that I really enjoyed the "overarching story" format of the previous books. Crossroads was a collection of short stories, and while some of them were exceedingly good, part of what I had expected was that I was buying a novel as well as a rulebook. In Loyalties, it looks like Wyrd tried to hybridize the format -- providing a good number of interesting short stories, with one big 'un at the end to move the plot along. The effort to make everyone happy is appreciated! At the same time, I'd have preferred if each of the stories interacted with each other in some way. I want it all, no hybrids! I also found the last story to be difficult to follow what was happening. This could be my less powerful brain trying to soak up immense power (ala, the GG), or it could be that it was a little too much going on. In the end, I loved this story and will probably re-read it now that I'm done, so that I can understand it better.
