  1. I've wondered that, as well. If the US is similar in Malifaux to how it is IRL, if someone was 18 in the American Civil War, they'd be somewhere between 58-62 years old -- while that's fairly old in 1905, they could still be a viable "use my actions to order other models around (and give them actions)" master. Or they could be completely augmented and be a beast with a bayonet. Or a cannon. We need a Civil War General master who is a beast with a cannon.
  2. Stolen from Mephistoles in another forum (he's the main 40k TO in Northern Utah):
  3. As far as new boxes produced since M2E's GenCon release, my understanding is they should all have the M2E cards, and the boxes should have a M2E sticker or something to indicate that. But I'm just regurgitating things I've read in this forum, so don't take my word for it.
  4. Colette and most of the ladies in the Guild. The Ortegas hold a special place in my heart, because I really want to be Mexican. Interestingly enough, though, when I started buying minis to play, I went with Raspi and Mei Feng.
  5. I was thinking about Christianity and Malifaux a little while back. The Bible is pretty clearly against witchcraft and necromancy, and I believe there's an argument on whether Christ's salvation would extend off Earth and into Malifaux (my bro and I got into a discussion about that in regards to Christianity and Star Trek, but that's for another day). Also, the Christian revivalism in the US didn't start until the early 20s so it's unlikely anyone but Catholics would send someone into Malifaux. Not that that would discount a priestly character, it's just something to think about.
  6. I guess that makes The Hanging Tree a national monument that's ALWAYS closed.
  7. I did a quick comparison of the models in Wave 1 vs. the collectors model list, minus Nightmares and Alts, and it looked like there are roughly the same number of models (pretending that The Brewmaster, Kojo, and other un-modeled cards count as Wave 1 models). This was weeks ago, though, and I didn't find my evidence compelling enough to save, so I very well could be wrong.
  8. http://www.wyrd-games.net/Ratty_Images/CMS-Backdrop11.jpg Who the heck is that on the left side?
  9. I've felt the same way. Bushido looks AWESOME, and I backed Empire of the Dead so I have the rules, but no one around Utah seems to want to break out of their 40k/WarmaHordes comfort zones, and many FLGS' won't stock obscure games. Back on topic -- I won't lie, I'm kinda sad there isn't a Baron Samedi-type character. Nicodim comes close, and so does Zoraida, but neither are a New Orleans' Voodoo priest.
  10. In any case, that incredibly-large-yet-hard-to-define area is only represented by one model.
  11. Nah, you've got it. I'm just an ignorant American, and didn't think to fact check, first. I blame Disney.. any time I see turbans, I think Aladdin and Arabian niiiiiiights...
  12. That's not ENTIRELY true. I haven't seen the Wave 2 info, but in Wave 2, Ice Golem moved from a 40 to 50mm base. There may be other examples.
  13. ... But there's only one Native American, and only one person from the Middle East.
  14. I painted this box set as a birthday gift for a friend. I used HO scale lumber to make the floorboards, greenstuffed the rugs, and used quarter scale dollhouse furniture for the accents. I'm pretty damn happy with how the crew turned out. More pics on Imgur http://imgur.com/a/nEND1#0
  15. I've noticed in other places where they religiously alternate between male and female pronouns. IMO, that seems to be the best way to go. I haven't looked at a D&D book in ages, but I know White Wolf was all about female pronouns in the 90s.
  16. It's a bit too late for me now -- I've already primed and basecoated -- but I was having a hell of a time cleaning up the visible seams on the back of the Illuminated with the smaller Hungering Darkness. Have any of you had any luck with those, or is it pretty standard to just give up? Also, Huggy D's seams for his arms were a pain, too.
  17. Draco, I picked up a small bag of watch parts on eBay for $5, free shipping.
  18. More than this, I want Wyrd to make awesome card holders. Leather, with faction icons pressed into the flap.
  19. Also, The Governor General hasn't had any real competition, politically -- a noble Samurai family could change that.
  20. Rumor has it that the first run of Mei models were suuuper tiny.
  21. I wasn't around for the Mei Feng fiasco (my term, not cannon), but 1) if we have a NiB Hired Swords box, when the scale gets fixed will be be able to return it for a properly scaled version (that decides whether I desprue and paint them or not) 2) are the plastics recyclable, so returned models (in the case of 1) can be used to recoup the cost?
