  1. I'm looking forward to fielding my first Goblin Gremlin crew. Back when my friends and I were playing Mordheim every week, I ran Witch Hunters with black-powder weapons. All my models were named after Old West gunfighters. For some reason, everyone else was getting annoyed at all the misfires, which I thought was half the fun. Gremlins give me the same feel of "more power with risk."
  2. Whoops, should have said Guild. My bad there.
  3. I like calling the app "The Breach" as well. And I've got an Android phone and an iPad to test on. Additional feature suggestion: Are we going to have the ability to pass lists from one device to another? Maybe with a file-sharing method such as Dropbox?
  4. Awesome! Now I just need to bodge a good image for Mei Feng. Wish I had a better image of the Puppet Wars version, but that's the way it is.
  5. They're already out in metal, so if you've got an Arcanist arsenal deck, you shoudl be able to play one.
  6. Has the Closing Time box been released yet? I'm looking forward to that one.
  7. Welcome aboard! I'm in much the same boat as you. My first game with borrowed figs was Lady J vs. Misaki, and I don't think I've ever enjoyed losing so well! Another important safety tip: When you've got one wound left, stay away from any model with the Black Blood ability. Losing because you didn't read your opponent's cards always sucks.
  8. Welcome aboard! I'm new myself. I think you'll find plenty of takers for that translucent Pandora and Tara.
  9. The only Gremlin crew I see on shelves around here is Ophelia. Was wanting to run Brewmaster.
  10. I'm working on a Malifaux cheat sheet, and I'm wondering if anyone can point me to where I can get the suits and flip symbols as a font or as black images.
  11. Oh yeah, they're a Belle as well. I missed them, thanks. (I'm not actually running Seamus right now, his crew box is sitting there, staring at me, waiting for me to begin...)
  12. So I have a question for Wyrd (or anyone here on the forums that may know). Is Wyrd going to release the new models as individual blisters? For example, looking through the wave 2 Neverborn stats, I find a model named Vasilisa, who to me looks to be a good match for a henchman for Collodi. But I don't see an existing model for it. So do I have to wait for the plastic Collodi to be released to get one, or will I eventually be able to buy just Vasilisa? Or the Enslaved Nephilim totem from the Ortegas box? I ask because I'm concerned that the current generation of metal minis are just going to sit on shelves, collecting dust, and retailers are going to find them harder and harder to sell. Being able to buy the missing models separately will help there.
  13. No Seamus love? Well, I guess since he can only summon Rotten Belles, he really doesn't need it. All kidding aside, these are great Ratty!
  14. So I've got a question for all the Malifolk out there. Has there ever been one model that made you want to build a crew just to field that model? That just looked so awesome (either the model or its stats, or both!) that meant you had to have it? For me, it was the rail golem. I love steampunk robots, and it just looked able to bring the pain in a big way. And now I want to pick up Pandora, just to use Candy. Evil little girls make me giggle. (Funny thing, I've got a blonde little girl of my own. Oooh, paint scheme for Candy...) Anyway, what about the rest of you?

    April Releases

It feels a little sad that I want to run Neverborn just so I can field Teddy. Just can't make up my mind between Pandora and Lilith.
  16. I assumed so; I'm just trying to get my application in and processed before the convention next month. It looks like to be on the safe side I'm going to have to employ a friend of mine for some of the painting. (I'm a terribly slow painter.)
  17. Does anyone have an idea as to how long the average time to process a henchman application is? The Malifaux bug bit me pretty bad, so I'm looking into applying for Henchman before our local mini-convention at the beginning of next month. I just want to know how long I have to get my crews painted up for my application.
  18. I listen to Pandora while I work, and I just heard a banner ad for free business cards from Vistaprint. So what does my mind immediately leap to? "Hey, I can get myself some business cards to give to people who are interested in learning about Malifaux." And I'm not even a Henchman. (Not yet, anyway, though I plan on applying as soon as I have a second painted crew.) Must paint....
  19. I'm looking for a video online somewhere to introduce people to Malifaux with, preferably something I could link to on Facebook. Anyone got anything?
  20. I open the crew creator's page in the web browser on my iPad all the time. It's a little wonky, but works well enough. Although I hear there's easy ways to create an app from a web page these days.
  21. The release list on the Malifaux site needs to be updated again. Last release listed there is January, and now its March.
  22. For a first introduction to the mechanics, I've had some success with an idea that I think came from this board, but I'm not sure. What I do is put two Death Marshals on the table about 6" apart, and play "Let's you and him fight." I deal out two control hands, and walk the interested party through one of the Death Marshals charging the other one. It doesn't take long, and does cover the mechanics pretty well.
  23. I like Dropzone Commander, and think it's a good scale for sci-fi warfare. But it had a brief flare of popularity here and seems to have faded away.
  24. This. So much this. I started playing Warmahordes about two years ago, and with the release of Colossals/Gargantuans, the fun just got sucked right out of it for me. I like playing smaller games, and Warmahordes really stopped being that here. With the big toys available, everyone wants to play with them. I'll admit they're big gorgeous models, but I don't want to play with them. (Okay, yes I do own a gargantuan. I won the thing in a raffle.) It's still a good game, I just don't want to play right now. I originally considered Malifaux back in the 1.5 days when my FLGS randomly decided to stock it. That was about the time the first plastic crews were coming out, and the one I wanted wasn't out quite yet, so I picked up the pocket rulebook and waited. Two things stopped me. One was I got put off by the rules. The 1.5 rules were confusing in places. The other was that while I saw people playing 40k and fantasy and Warmahordes, I didn't really see anyone playing Malifaux. And then 2.0 came out and I got to play a couple of games, and I liked it. So now I'm the guy with a crew trying to get other people to play. Go me!
  25. Yeah, they'd seriously have to get down near GW's price/model to make this work. Maybe they could talk to Mantic for advice? Mantic makes some decent models at a pretty low pricepoint.
