  1. "Weapon Selection: When deploying these models at the start of the game, you must select one Viktoria model. Selected Viktoria’s Masamune Nihonto gains Paired, but loses Clockwork Pistol. The models used must accurately reflect this weapon selection." This Ability is listed on both Sword Vik and Gun Vik, and worded the same way in both cases. From the wording, I would argue that any Viktoria summoned during the game can only ever be a Gun Vik. That's the way I've played it so far, at any rate.
  2. Seems decent. If you have a strategy that requires interaction, Collodi can deal with it in the first few turns, after which you can go chomp face with your new Teddy and Wicked Dolls; If you have a strategy that requires killing, you can buff your marionettes in the first few turns while waiting for your forces to grow, then get a few alpha strikes in the late game. Beware Supply Wagon, though, I don't think you'd be able to do a lot about it with this list.
  3. In the first couple of turns, you want to keep Nix hidden, focus on pushing Rats and Stolen forward and maybe producing more Rats form any weak ennemies coming close. Only bring him out when the swarms reach their targets. Then either help the swarms or bring him to another target for Hamelin to focus on.
  4. The Dreamer's hires tend to be somewhat expensive so he doesn't have a lot of balanced all-rounder list option at 25ss. I'd suggest following Joel's advice. After all, Night Terrors pretty much work on their own, without the Dreamer's help, so there's not much need to learn to use them with him as opposed to using them with another (Reser) master. Coppelius and Teddy are the same SS cost, but Coppelius gives you healing flips and access to Alps-summoning, Poison and Paralysis, so I personally prefer him over Teddy. And you probably want two Stitched just so you can always have a bodyguard for the Dreamer.
  5. I would actually argue that the Dreamer starter isn't too bad a deal for Lynch. He can hire Stitched togethers even when playing as 10T and you get two in the Dreamer's box, and Coppelius is a great support piece which will only benefit from having the Beckoners around to pull victims into his Paralysing/Poisoning claws. Though you'll also want to get a blister of daydreams if you want to play the dreamer.
  6. Everyone award yourself an internet high five. I'm too lazy to keep my hand up that long.
  7. What I'd really be interesting in seeing is an update on the Jack Daw situation. He's an extremely mysterious Minion, but he seems extremely important considering, among other things, killing him nets your opponent victory points. I can see hanging form the highest branch of the Tree, witnessing everything that happens in Malifaux... I'm not asking to have the mystery solved, I'd just want him to be recognised as still existing :/
  8. Please don't give them any ideas. I always dread facing the little $@#!%. Clearly broken, don't know WHAT they were thinking. Hehehe... Sarcasm...
  9. Woops, my apologies. My think was not braining correctly.
  10. Unfortunately not possible. The wording of the Dreamer's ability which allows him to have more Teddies states that it applies to those he hires. Widow Weaver summons them, so they're still Rare 1; as long as there's another Teddy on the field her spell fizzles. Is big shame
  11. Line in the Sand. Doesn't matter if it's you or your opponent playing it, those little buggers will save you a lot of hassle. "Go on. Try and get close to that marker. I dare you. I double-dare you."
  12. Actually Taint Loyalty specifically refers to "any other model", meaning friendliness to itself would not be removed.
  13. I think this is the point of our disagreement. Gramatically speaking, the word "other" couldn't be used to describe "friendly", since they are both adjectives describing the noun "model". "Other" refers to "models". But, again, if a model is not friendly to itself, any "other friendly Guild model" is exactly the same thing as a "friendly Guild model", which makes the use of the word "other" redundant whenever something mentions an "other friendly model". Your understanding of English is fine, but friendly is relative. "Friendly" is not exactly a status effect or an ability. When your crew considers a model "friendly", opposing crews will consider it an "enemy" model (except maybe in specific events). A model is only "friendly" to every model in its crew (which includes itself), which means that saying "friendly to this model" would be redundant (again, except in specific cases). I do agree, however, that "friendly" could benefit from an official FAQ.
  14. I'm afraid I disagree. Yes. The mere fact that there is a distinction between friendly models and "other" friendly models necessarily means that there is at least one friendly model that is not an "other" model. The only possible answer to this is that the model is friendly to itself. Glad we agree. A model is friendly to itself. Taint Loyalty removes friendly to any other model. Therefore Taint Loyalty does not remove friendly to yourself.
  15. Rulebook 1.5 is more up-to-date, so I imagine Wyrd prefers to sell/people prefer to buy that version. Sham,e since the Rules Manual is more easier to carry around :/
  16. http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?20748-Can-a-model-see-them-self&p=238721&viewfull=1#post238721 There is a distinction between "friendly models" and "other friendly models", which means models are friendly to themselves. So, Taint Loyalty on Lilith means she's not friendly to any other model, meaning she is still friendly to herself. Illusionary Forest trick would not work, Tots could not get Blood Counters from her, Arcane Effigy could not Conduct Aether on her.
  17. Models are friendly to themselves, which allows for some abilities (no example in mind, sorry) to say "all friendly models in the aura.... including this model".
  18. The intent isn't for the rats to come back. You can't Drain Souls on Insignificant models, which is where Nihilism comes in. Since aHamelin can make 3 more rats the next turn, he essentially spends a turn trading 3 cards for 3 SS.
  19. If you google "malifaux uk store" you can get a few online sellers, which genereally give you a slightly better deal. With that in mind you have the box set cost about £25 and the Day Dreams cost about £9. Those are your basic needs, totaling just under £35, leaving you with £15 to spend on other models. xKoBiEx has listed your best choices, which is to say nightmares. Prices are around: Teddy: £10 Night Terrors: £10 (for a blister of 2, but you generally want 3) Weaver Widow: £8 Alps: £10 Lelu: £5 ;Lilitu: £5 (You generally want both at the same time)
  20. The Dreamer is what got me into the game, and into gaming in general. Friends of mine got him for me because they knew I loved his fluff, but I doubt any of us were really thinking I'd get so into it. As SilverBullet says, he's very much of a Hit and Run player. If you're looking to get a new crew, I'd say the first few things you want to know are: - What playstyle would you prefer? Most Masters/Crews have their own strengths and weaknesses to play around. - How much can you afford to spend on getting additional models? Some crews require you to invest in a lot of models (Gremlins, Hamelin, Nicodem...) while others are very self-contained (Colette, the Dreamer, any Henchman...) - Do you like the fluff? Not as important for some, vital for others.
  21. The Trigger is for the spell Frightening Dream. Wyrd really should write errata for those errata...
  22. In most cases I would disagree. Nearly all Masters have the option to Manifest early in the game with minimal effort, so you don't have to build a large portion of your crew around making it faster. Sonnia really only needs a Desperate Merc to be able to Manifest, and any crew she'd usually take would fare just as well with her Avatar. You have the option to build a crew specifically tailored to make the Avatar stronger, but then again you have the option to build a crew to make any model better. Again, not necessarily correct. From memory, Sonnia's avatar makes her even better at dealing damage, both to large amounts of ennemies and to single models. That would probably be better at higher soulstones, yes. Ramos, on the other hand, I can see being a monster in low soulstone games since he can spawn in a (damaged) Large Steampunk Arachnid every turn (again, from memory), which can ovverrun the opponent rather easily with the right support.
  23. The one big thing with Lilith, in my opinion, is Transposition. In short, it allows you to put any model you want anywhere you want as long as you have the card to cast it and plan in advance, usually through a Terror Tot sprinting into position for the switch. That said, I would advise you to look at any model you belive you would benefit from being able to drop at specific places. My personal favourite is Coppelius for auto Paralyse, Poison and free Alps. Note this won't work with Immune to Influence models, unless you remove it first with the Insidious Madness. You also have nearly all the models you'd want for a (somehwat cheesy) grow list. Add a Desperate Merc or two to get the early blood/corpse counters for your Tots, Nekima and the Shaman and you can build a fast crew that can at a moment's notice (with the right card) turn a lot more bashy. As for competitive, in my opinion, Zoroida is likely to be the most competitive of the three but I would put Lilith above Pandora. Still, I'll leave the final word on that to those who know more than me.
  24. Je joue à Malifaux depuis un peu plus de deux ans et je ne me suis pas mis à parler Français du jour au lendemain. Quelle bande de fous.
