  1. Yes. Looking over it helped get me into this game.
  2. What is that thing that watched pots never do again? :Decay_Puppet:
  3. I want a book because I want to know cards without buying arsenal decks (a pdf of cards would do the same though). Wyrd should provide fluff in some form for newbs though. When you don't know the game it seems like the most random assembly of stuff...which it initially was back when Wyrd was a minis only company. I feel they've done a knock-up job of tying this diverse line together and continue growing in unique ways. People need the fluff to tie it all together. Many reading this have it in their heads, others will need it in their hands or hard drives.
  4. I'd buy book two even if it was just a collection of the cards together in one place with those couple paragraph blurbs.
  5. So then there is a single guild upgrade missing. That is it?
  6. In a couple other threads, I've read that "x" didn't end up in the book but is in the arsenal decks. As a person with the book and no arsenal decks, I a very interested to know what is missing (if anything) and figured it would be nice for others to have this info collected in one place.
  7. I am voting with my $ on this one. I have problems with scale-y variance generally, but it has not turned me away from any purchases previously. However, now I think I will proxy or use older models for Ronin or the Viks if I use them.
  8. Not to derail this, but the 2012 Gencon "softness" of the Dark Debts models features seem to have been due (IMHO as an owner of many Wyrd plastics) to the plastic used in this set being mildly translucent where the others were done with opaque plastic. Everything looks fine with a black undercoat. Baby Kang was last seen in Batboy's mouth as he was captured by the NSA Xenos Team.
  9. Tara is on the field with Knowledge of Eternity and Obliteration Symbiote upgrades in effect. She successfully casts Pull the Void (1) on an enemy non-leader model and gives that model "fast" along with a damage point. Glimpse the Void auto-triggers. As no other enemies are buried, the enemy model conducts a TN 13 WP duel. It fails and is now buried. For her next trick, Tara casts Echoes of the Void (1). She gets her crow and casts it successfully thus unburying the freshly buried enemy model. Tara finishes her activation doing whatever and now as per EotV, the enemy model activates with Tara as its controller. (Strangely, it is Tara who controls the enemy model not the player controlling her!) As EotV notes this as an activation, the Tara-controlled enemy model now benefits from "fast" and would operate with an additional AP...Right?
  10. Peeee...Deeee....EEEEEFFFFFF! Wyrd...just let us buy it from you!
  11. 1. Fate deck: it creates a nice balance between luck and strategy (If one really wanted to a similar system could probably be done with dice but it would be clunky and unfluffy.) 2. Skirmish-level play: the game began and remained a skirmish game...this does not always happen. 3. Women & Minorities: Ever notice that LGSs are filled with white guys and hardly anyone else? Favorable and influential protrayals of women & minorities in-game may help to shift this a bit along with being the right call for other reasons. Perfect...No, but much further along than the charactures that games often promote. There are many annecdotal reports of Malifaux appealing to women more than other systems. (My apologies if this comment derails this thread, but it is one of the things I like.) 4. Fluffy Crews: there are good mechanical reasons to build fluffy crews which is what I want to do. 5. Newish Aesthetic: Wyrd didn't invent a lot of the stuff in the fluff (cowboys, dimentional rifts, zombies, and whatnot existed beforehand), but they put these together in their own unique way and actually made it all work! Quite a feat as the company started with an oddly cobbled set of figures and made a game to include them. 6. Smart Revisions: responsive to player feedback, but not to their detriment; actually improved the game with a new addition which seemingly was primarily catalyzed by wanting a better game rather than selling revised army books and whatnot. 7. Plastics: I prefer not getting metal filing all over the house.
  12. Uggh. This is really bumming me out. The tora, beckoner, and other fig totally DON'T look to be the same scale as the ronin. It looks like they sized the figs in that set vs. each other but not vs. the rest of the line. I am currently operating under the assumption that Wyrd has not chamged scale as I've heard not mention of biggie figure from the new releases. Sure, there should be big folks...but that should be reflected in the stats and fluff if model X is a biggie. How many scenes are there describing the Viks or a ronin whacking their heads on doorjams? A ronin is a generic fighter and shouldn't be huge! These are done on computer and in my opinion Wyrd should have a much tighter QC around this. If this does reflect a scale change...please just make it consistent across all the new stuff and quit switching it up.
  13. To each their own I guess. I like the style although I find it a little humorous that everyone has a "fresh from the salon" look. I'm curious...what is "cheap" about it for you that didn't exist before?
  14. Eek! I was hoping doing the renders on computer would help with tightening the scale..That pic does not give me hope. I am all good with "people come in all shapes and sizes," but to me, if you're height 2 on a 30mm base, then you should look pretty darn close to the other 2 & 30s.
  15. Agreed. Although, I don't know that I'd characterize it like Wyrd is backward or something as I feel that they are appropriately responsive to their fan base (listen to those who love their game while not backing down on what they find important). I knew I wanted to buy into the game but didn't drop a penny for some time. This was primarily because there are so many very different models that I didn't know where I wanted to start. Picking up an inexpensive pdf of the cards would be a smart way for new players to get a sense of what they would like. I'm not a market researcher, but I'll go out on a limb a d posit that allowing people to feel they are making well informed purchasing decisions will help them give money to Wyrd more readily and rapidly.
  16. This poll is on pdfs and not apps as high-quality app development is a totally different undertaking altogether. I am guessing that pdfs could be put together and posted in their shop in maanner of hours or days if they want to charge; perhaps even less than an hour if they want to put them up for free. Doing a. 1-stop app is a different story. I'd buy the app if it comes into being, but for now I'd dig the pdf.
  17. I am also very excited to see what they do with him. His coolness will determine if I play Neverborn in M2E.
  18. Individual cards would be my preference, but as I understand, this is a non-starter...pdf is my 2nd choice.
  19. Hi, I was miffed at the idea of picking up a bunch of arsenal sets to cover the Levi crew I had been slowly assembling in the days of 1.5 as this would entail picking up several decks (conceivably, the Outcasts 1&2 along with any faction with undead or construct models). One alternative option would be for Wyrd to release the cards in pdf online. I think that this would be great for promoting the game and making consumers happy as they get a different format to choose from. Also, updates are much, much easier. What do you think?
  20. She has wings and is on fire...Isn't she already a phoenix? Not sure where they could go with her: 1. Make more stuff catch fire. 2. Enhance the effect of burning tokens. 3. Give others things that cause burning tokens.
  21. I think (and hope) its JD for the reasons noted. Although...another cool idea would be that Witchling Stalker in the book 3 fluff who worked out how to un-WS himself. That would be an interesting additon.
  22. The argument for the higher price is in part of the price has to do with the fact that molds are expensive and they won't have a long run to offset that cost. I got mine today and was surprised to see my 3 Voidies all had the same pic on the card...is that a mistake? I didn't stop to think that there should be instructions for the boxed set. If these do exist, I hope Wyrd posts them so we can take a look. I have to say that I am very pleased with the sculpts and casting for these guys...good job Wyrd.
  23. I'm not averse to copying...I just generally don't bring a scanner or copy machine to my LGS on the blue moon when I actually get to play something. :Paralyzed_Puppet: I just got the book today. Unlike M1E books, the M2E book essentially has the card printed on the page in card format. I had no notion that this was the case until seeing the book. Scan and print is basically what I plan to do now. But...as I recall, there is no plan to put the Wave 2 guys into a book. Is that still true? I'd pay for a book of stats in the format shown in the M2E book if they care to produce it. Never the less, I still think selling or giving away a pdf of the cards would be a good move for Wyrd. It gets folks in the game feeling supported and makes an additional vehicle to get prospective players to take a closer look before needing to invest lots of money. I've given up the crusade for card singles...cast you vote for pdf-edness here: http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?46373-Cards-in-pdf-format-Do-you-want-it
