  1. It's much more dynamic than simply standing around. That said the LE one is pretty neat.
  2. I'm interested in Hannah and live in Toronto, PM sent.
  3. So new Guardsman model in the new book, any thoughts yet?
  4. Wait what, so according to what you just said all normal crews led by a master have 25SS to spend where a henchman has 29SS? Assuming the battle size is 25SS. I did not know this...
  5. Eh? Well unlike masters Henchman are restricted to a starting pool of four or whatever the Henchman # is in their type listing if I recall correctly. So usually its better to just purchase more models. I usually play Von Schill and Lucius and find myself with 2-3 soul stones to play around with.
  6. I'm mostly thinking of things like Lure and Obey. You're right about the stubborn though. I find that the +2 really helps me out in passing all WP duels. I'm beginning to really like Kill Protege now that you mention it. In the few games I played it I usually declared so I could get the extra point. Then used frame for murder undeclared on the trapper if it's a choppy master.
  7. Alright, thanks for the quick responses.
  8. After a very brief time with the search engine I couldn't find anything in regards to being tabled. More precisely, what happens when you table someone. Does the game end there? If so does the person tabled automatically lose? If not then victory point totals? Or do the turns persist with the other player making actions to finish their objectives. For example I have four victory points, but my opponent has three. I get tabled. If the game were to persist he could continue on and destroy the evidence and take the win. tldr Does being tabled cause you to auto lose? Does the game persist after one person is wiped off the board?
  9. Thanks, I was just making sure there wasn't some mechanic distinction or anything like that
  10. Hello, I was just wondering for the purposes of abilities that specify a 'friendly model' can be targeted can the caster target themselves?
  11. The armor they have grants them Armor 1, Magic Resistance 1, and immunity to all damaging blasts, aura, and pulses. I think the damage is reduced by two because Armor reduces any incoming damage by 1 (I think) with the other 1 point coming from the magic resistance.
  12. Wait, what a league set up? What format did you use and such? I'm very much interested in starting up a league for my own FLGS.
  13. I purchased a Von Schill starter the other day and after finally getting around to opening it I found a problem. For the librarian her dagger, or rather hunting knife I suppose, seems to disappear a milometer after the hilt. It simply isn't there. I'm not really quite sure why, I couldn't find the other half to glue on in the bag so I can only really think that it was some other problem? What should I do?
  14. Thank you, now to just get that masked henchmen in and start taking over Malifaux
  15. Alright then, I'll probably further my collection by getting Hamelin in then and slowly expand. Oh, and by the way I noticed there are a lot of movement spells that can put a rain on the Freikorps parade. Any tips on how to avoid these shenanigans? Or is it simply keeping yourself position properly that it matters less? (i.e. blobbing up together) edit: Oh, schemes and plans! Which ones would you guys recommend for a vanilla Von Schill list? edit: Geeze, I just had my first game today and played the manequin master, and all I can say is that I can see where Hamelin would've been really useful @_@
  16. Right, so I take it that people change up the crew and don't take all the starter stuff along with them? Perhaps dropping the the normal Korpsmen or something along those lines to free up the Soul Stones?
  17. So I succumbed to the look of the Freikorps and picked up Von Schill's box at my FLGS. While I've read that its solid at 25SS and only needs a few things for a good 35SS list I did have a few questions. Many people seem to advocate adding on the Viktorias. However, just adding them straight onto the box leaves you with a cache of 0 right? Is this what people mean when tacking them straight on? Also I'm interested in Hamelin the rat catcher, mostly because his model is neat and he does a neat thing, for a Von Schill lead crew at 35SS, but something I noticed is that the crew would still lack the magical weapons to help deal with ghosts and such. Could someone who's had experience fielding either of these list variants give me some feedback on how they played and the pros/cons of each? I know Taelor is supposed to be a solid pick as well for expanding, but again people seem to push the Viktorias more. Thanks, I'm just starting so I hope these questions aren't too repetitive.
  18. Huh alright, would it be better to link the Drill Sergeant with the Captain then? Oh, and new goodies for Lucius? Well that would certainly be a blast. Maybe an elite shock trooper or rangers to head up against the Freikorps? I think for now I'll stick to Lucius. I'm picking up the box for the alternative sculpt alone pretty much xD
  19. Oh true, I hadn't considered that. That is pretty neat, and a nice way of giving him mobility. One of the other boxes that I've been eyeing up has been the freikorps. What are the differences between playing Von Schill and Lucius? From first glance it seems to me that Lucius offers more damage to the rest of his army where as Von Schill hands out defensive type buffs with a medic also being able to dish out healing every which way.
  20. Alright, so I'll try to pick those up then. Seems like a respectable start. Thanks for the tip. Anything I should look out for while fielding lucius? edit: In regards to the Drill Sergeant's advanced training affecting lucius...it doesn't right? The inclusion of model is a bit iffy, but the henchman rules would make sure that lucius does not benefit as long as he's leading, correct?
  21. Oh alright, that's good to know. Guess I'll just collect on the guardsman model variants xD
  22. Yes, I was going for the gun line originally, but it seems like Malifaux isn't as straight forward when it comes to objectives as other games. I noticed you mentioned it "depends on what crew I'm facing". Does this mean that making an effective 'all-comers' list is hard to achieve or perhaps not possible?
